Excellent evening. Carla is a great teacher and we managed to pack in a lot of learning (and eating) in quite a short space of time.

The staff was friendly and had great advice since we were not sure about the type of skillet to buy. We were really pleased with the purchases and we would strongly recommend Borough Kitchen to anyone

Had a really fun evening making vegetable lasagne and goat cheese ravioli at Borough Kitchen in Hampstead. Carla the instructor was fun, friendly and informative and everyone in the class had a great time and learned something new. What made this night great was that it was technique led rather than recipe led. This meant we all learned how to make pasta from scratch and judge it ourselves rather than follow a recipe step by step. Would highly recommend.

Pastry class. I attended this class yesterday which was excellent. It covered how to make shortcrust and choux pastry, making Creme pat and chocolate mousse. It was an excellent class and I learnt a lot, I made my own shortcrust pastry, choux buns, gougeres and eclairs, which I never thought I would be able to do. The tutor Carla was excellent, she explained everything step by step and also explained the science behind pastry, which was really interesting. Thanks to her and her colleague Emma, who was on hand as well to help. The the class was intimate with a maximum of 8 people which was great, some items were made individually send some items were made in pairs, but we all had a go at every aspect of the pastry making. I went to the Hampstead cookery school which is held in the Borough Kitchen shop. They supplied everything even the wine! The class was 3 hours and we were standing all the time which was fine for me, but there were stools available for anyone that needed them. Both Carla and Emma, I believe were cordon bleu trained and as I said before they made the class really informative and I would recommend it to anyone who is unsure (or scared) of making pastry, it has now given me the confidence to make pastry at home on my own. Thanks again Carla and the Borough Kitchen cookery school. Natalie B

Love the place. Bought some nice french skillet and wok and pizza stone. Whether I buy things or not, all were good until today. I had to buy some meat at a butcher shop nearby. Afterwards, pop in and checked on some vegetable slicers. A curly hair and ponytailed lady somehow must think that I was some kind of hobo or poor asian boy might shop lift or something. I felt very intimidated. She didn't attack me or anything. She asked me once I am just looking or what. I told her I was looking around. I felt her eyes were on my forehead. I told her goodbye when I left the shop. She was at the door nearby. Then she went to the area where I was. Seemed checking things. I was looking at the show window for awhile. She seemed cautious about me. I wasn't dressed fancy. My adidas sweat pants and nike sneakers and olive green winter jacket. I felt uncomfortable to looking things around. Somehow I felt I should dress up more to shop there. The two stars are for the people who treated me nicely before and the lady today deducted three stars from them. Good luck with your business. You lost one customer today.
