Good venue with great sound balance and really comfy seating with actual leg room. It's worth noting you can have no unsealed drinks inside the venue so no thermoses with cups or open glasses

Historical BBC recording studios, great acoustics for symphony orchestras. Audience seats well spaced and relatively comfortable. No bars or shops nearby, if you need a coffee you are on your own

Comfortable seats, but a lot of queueing on foot before that with very few available seats for the less able to stand.

Great theatre but extremely difficult to get any tickets to any live shows. Might as well be located in Salford

The best BBC sound studios that I am aware of. The exterior of the building looks tatty but the moment you walk through the door it's clear that this is a special place. The BBC's reception and audience services staff are always very helpful and friendly but at Maida Vale they seem just that bit more so. Audiences here also seem to be that bit special. I like to think that it's all because everyone is interested in music. Studio One in particular is an amazing space. It has the feeling of a gym, it really is that big. A full size orchestra fits in with room to spare. The seating is comfortable both on the floor and in the balcony. The space feels remarkably intimate because the audience is only feet away from the orchestra. Consequently your visual field is fully filled by the players. This translates into feeling that you are part of the performance, particularly as there's no attempt to hide the mechanics of the event from audience members. You may even finding yourself walking out of the building alongside the soloist whose performance you were applauding a few minutes before. This really is a very special place. If you enjoy music, particularly orchestral music, you are pretty much guaranteed a memorable experience as an audience member at Maida Vale studios.

Came here for BBC sound of 2018 and it was pretty awesome! Was right at the front for Sigrid's performance as well as Years and years! They have a cloak room which was great although we were only allowed to put our bags here and not our coats (bit odd don't you think?!) Also had to give my lighter to them before entering as it's not allowed to be taken in, first time ever my lighter has been confiscated at a gig or anywhere for that matter! Still a good night out when tickets were free!

Took my 12 year old daughter for some culture and we were both pleased with the orchestra, shame about the wait to get in.

The original BBC radio music and drama studios, first used in the 1930's. Converted from Maida Vale skating rink in 1933/4 and home to the BBC symphony ever since, except 1940-46. Also home to John peel show and BBC radiophonic workshop. Dr Who theme was created behind the windows to the left of the main entrance

As I've said for the BBC at Gt. Portland Street; whacky, elaborate entry system and armies of staff. Have knocked off a star as we queued for an hour and a half. There has to be a better way. No catering or comforts. Queue outside in all weathers. But let's face it, the shows are free! Look out for the plaque commemorating the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

A dated building with lots of history. I have been twice to see BBC recordings and both times have found the staff polite and very helpful. Worth a visit if you can get tickets.

The BBC record music programs here and invite a public audience to the recording. I attended a contemporary classical music recording here and it was outstanding. On the same day Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin was recorded in another studio on the same day.

Old studios with no refreshments. Saw an amazing free radio 3 orchestra, who played three Mozart tunes. Wonderful.

Thoroughly rude doorman when I was visiting. Reminded me of surly and difficult public service workers of the 70's. What a terrible way to treat people!
