Good Fish & Chips in London can be hard to come by. In my 40 odd years of looking, I have never come across a place worth writing about. That is until we came upon North Sea. You pay a premium, but the freshness of the flaky cod that we had, bolstered by the crunchy yet fine batter and perfectly fried fish is totally worth it. And the chips were done just right as well - full of flavour and delicious! If you want proper Fish and Chips in London, this is the place to go. Thanks also to the very polite and professional gentleman who served us.

Time Out says it has pulled up its socks, better still it has blown off our socks with an offering that would make Whitby proud. The customer service is as generous as the portions and husband and wife team are a winning combo, much like the fresh perfectly fried cod, fish shop chips perfecto and homemade tartar sauce to die for.

Made a reservation ahead and was seated promptly. Ordered the calamari and the traditional cod fillet and haddock fillet (fish and chips).
The fish and chips look simple but the fish is oh-so-delicious. Simply fried to perfection and so soft and succulent. Each bite is like a taste of crunch and soft fish flesh. Paired with their homemade tartar sauce, the meal was a delight to my tastebuds.
Service is fast and food was served quick too. Highly recommended for one of the best fish and chips in London.

The tastiest fish & chips I've ever had, this side of the river. It sets the bar high, and so other chippies just can't quite compare. Their batter is flavoursome, tastes moreish and the staff here are friendly. A great local chippy!

One of the best fish and chip shops in London. The establishment has a take away area and a seperate sit down dining restaurant. In recent years the restaurant has been flooded with bus loads of tourists stopping by to try a proper fish and chip place!

Delightful little restaurant off the main tourist area. It was quite packed and busy but that was to be expected on a Saturday night. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was worth the trip. It definitely lived up to the ratings. The cod was nice and flaky and the taste was perfect. Chips were a little lacking but didn't detract from the meal. We would definitely go back and would recommend going.

The best chippy in the area by a country mile. A Friday afternoon favourite. Chunk, crispy chips (no grease!) generous portions, reasonably priced, rapid service. Everything you'd want in a high quality chippy. I liked it so much I even drove into central London one weekend to treat the kids. Their verdict, "Dad, can we go again!"

Solid fish and chips restaurant, slightly more upscale than others I've been to. I got the halibut for a slightly healthier twist (not that fish and chips is ever very healthy). Fish was very tasty but had many large bones in case that bothers you. Tartar sauce was awesome with a great horseradish flavor. I also got mushy peas and a side salad. Peas were a bit bland, I expected better from a fish and chips place. Side salad was kind of sad but I should've expected that. Overall a good option for fish and chips in the King's Cross area.

Tasty fish and chips. Tried cod and haddock, prefers cod. Grilled Seabass has a fishy smell, so I wouldn’t recommend it. Good service.

LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS PLACE! Such a wide variety of fish courses and all looked very fresh. We were here for the fish and chips though. Having been to London previously, I'd tried a lot of different chippies before. This one serves up THE BEST fish and chips I have ever tried - in London, and in the US. It's got more of a restaurant feel to it as well, than just a regular hole-in-the-wall diner kind of chippy. The dining room was very packed - but that's what to look for to know if a place is good. We ate here in November and they were almost full up, so I'd recommend reservations if you are coming in a busier tourist season. They do have take-away right from the kitchen as well, just next door to the main entrance. Just take a look at this jumbo fish! It was big enough to share between the two of us and we still had leftovers!

Halibut steak was juicy yet perfectly cooked. Boiled potatoes had a bit of dirt or sand on the skin. They need proper rinsing before boiling. This place serves the best fish & chips in London. Much better than Sea Shell. Their chips are fried in groundnut oil. This makes them flavoursome. Both cod and haddock fillets are free from bones.

Stumbled upon this fish and chips shop while walking around the area. Noticed a line and went to check it out. Little did I know I have stumbled upon a little treasure. They have an assortment of fish type to choose from. If you like fish... u will love the way they battered their fish. A must try !

Loved this place! It's around 12 min walk from King's Cross station. With fresh fish and chips, refillable home made tartare sauce (they give you heaps in the first place) and chips.

Very nice flaky ad tender cod fish and chips. Also got the grilled seabass which is also delicious. The fries though could be a bit more crispy then everything would be perfect. There is a to go store right next door if you prefer to take it home. But I think fish and chips is best eat fresh and hot!

Best fish & chips I've tried so far in London. I went for the medium haddock with chips and both were super crunchy. Service was also really good. Vibe is the one you expect from a traditional family-owned local shop at the seaside with people all ages.

Fish and chips - arguably the only tangible (and palatable) British contribution to the world's cuisine.
This restaurant is a nice place to visit in London if you wish to eat something that is, for a change, actually tasty. Our fish and chips was fantastic and the amount of food? Gosh... enough to satisfy even a whole pack of starving wolves. Good value for money.
Wines that they have are also worth a try if you are a beverage gourmet.
What probably helps is also the fact that the service (and owner?) are not British but Italian / Spanish instead. To put it bluntly - from nations that have well-established culinary heritage.

I've had better fish and chips on the prairies. The fish and batter was almost completely flavorless. I just wasn't seasoned enough. They obviously had a good *technique* for the batter: it was shatteringly crisp. Too bad it tasted like paper. The servers were friendly but they were stretched too thin - so that even though I liked each individual sever the service was still poor. Considering that the prices were also high - this led to an all around negative experience.

I grab Fish & Chips at this take-away bar (right next to the restaurant, same business) frequently on my way home. Fair price with a huge amount of chips, big fish fillet and friendly service! Very few times fish fillet here dissapointed me. It is best to have fish when they are just fried in front of you. I see lots of locals living nearby come by to grab a paper bag (legit way!) of fish & chips from here everyday.

If you're looking for fried fish and chips, this is the place. They have both takeaway and sit down areas and both are super popular. We showed up right before they closed to prep between lunch and dinner so the sit down area was quiet. People were stopping by already to reserve tables for dinner and the takeaway was busy the whole time we ate.
My husband and I ordered the jumbo order of fried haddock and fries. Apparently the fries are endless but we were so full from the massive filet of fish we didn't need it. The fish was friend with the skin on still which was interesting and it was perfectly crispy and juicy. The fries were piping hot and delicious. The tarter sauce had a good bite to it but I found I liked the fish best with just some lemon and a dash of vinegar.
Service was polite and I can't speak to the vibe because of the time of day. Across the street there's a pub that was popular and could be good for pre/post dinner drinks.

Very nice fish and chips. I was on a diet so ordered the grilled sea bass.
My friends ordered the sole and it was amazing.
Quite a different bunch of clients. Nice environment overall.
The only thing is that you cannot change the chips for salad.

Off the beaten bath away from the main tourist areas this place is cozy to get good fish n chips and fishcakes. They have a door for takeaway and a door to sit down and eat. I recommend to do reservations online. I did mine 30 mins before arriving online and they honored it and we skipped in front of a few couples that waiting outside but did not have reservations.
