Went in today for a browse and was greeted with horrible service. The selection of books were fine and purchased more than expected but an elderly lady at the tills ruined the whole experience for me. She was bitter and had a horrible tone, my friend decided not to purchase anything due to this lady’s tone. I will definitely not be heading back there and will be telling everyone to buy their books from someplace else.

It's such a nice store! I visit here all the time, its almost a safe space for me. The staff are so lovely and kind and so willing to help. Any inquiries I have and they're there to help me out. Also the books themselves are great! They have a big varied selections for every genre that they have. The size of the kids book section is impressive too , the variety is brilliant and the addition of small toys and crafts is a bonus. You also sell cards and board games and aethstetic stationary that sadly excites me. It's a nice size and welcoming. 10/10

Lovely quiet little store. The lady that dealt with us today was interested in our books and very helpful. Thank you

Popped in for information to guide a purchase rather than to buy today. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Excellent shop. Can't beat person experience, so much better than the Internet

Great service in the highcross Leicester Waterstones today. The lady at the till was so incredibly helpful, within minutes she had found the book i wanted and ordered the books that wasn't in stock. Absolutely brilliant service and the store was extremely clean.

Terrible service. A regular here so very dissapointed. Came in to look around and purchase a couple of books. Went in with my 83 year old mum, who had to sit down as she was tired. Asked for a chair, refused due to Covid, only three other people in. Despite pleading with the assistant who checked with her manager, chair refused. Come on guys a simple wipe down afterwards would all you would have to do. No compassion or feelings. Manager, you should be ashamed of yourself. Maybe if she had collapsed you might have got her a chair or would you. Terrible way to treat your regula customers.

Could spend all day there. The world seems a distant place when you're immersed in books.

Staff are marvellous and patient. It's lovely to be able to go into a shop instead of purchasing on line. I would strongly encourage all to avoid on line and protect these shops

Good selection of books, knowledgeable staff and always good for a browse amongst the shelves. Went in a couple of days before Christmas and not surprising long queues, but people stayed patient and chatty. Good to see so many people still buying books and to know that this media is tactile, alive and kicking!

Love this place. It's a little small for one of their branches, but the layout is very unique. If you love books, use the escalator entrance from the inside of the high cross, it'll be like you're slowly descending into heaven.

Great selection that can mean you spend more time than you think browsing. Occasional bargains although difficult to compete with online. Worth supporting high Street though before it disappears

My favourite book store due to the wide selection and variety of books that they offer, prices are competitive but not as cheap as Amazon but I like that you can read the first few pages in a book store to check that you are going to enjoy the book before that you purchase it.

Waterstones must never leave our highstreets. Books are our information. educational and our imagination. To walk into,to read and sit amongst these friends of ours, just to feel and smell a book is a fundermental requirement of what it means to be human. Staff are themselves, enthusiastic bookworms, they will joyfully find you the most obscure to the sublime. I love them.

Book shop in High cross shopping centre. Not too big, a good range of books, lots of children's books. Staff are always helpful, know about the books. Good also for cards, notebooks, maps etc.

Out of all the Waterstones I've been.. this is the least impressive. Just one floor and there's not much space to chill and read a book etc or a café like in most Waterstones. Not that big either. I think a new Waterstones in Leicester would be great.

WARNING! EXTREMELY RUDE LADY WORKS HERE! Visited here today (9th March 2020) between 1-3pm and encountered the MOST ABRASIVE lady ever! I was extremely polite asking for help but she left me speechless with her BITTER attitude. I left with such a bad taste in my mouth that i'm still distraught until this evening - horrified to get up and write a review. Why can't Waterstones hire staff with positive energy and spirits? I didn't catch this unpleasant lady's name but I would say she is definitely over 45 years old with grey-ish hair. Thanks for ruining my day out, sour bitter woman. And you lost a customer waterstones!

Helpful and friendly staff. They have a wide range of books and board/card games available and also a seating area for those wanting to spend some time reading a book in store. We needed to find a book and the staff member was very helpful and directed right to the shelf!

Convenient little store in Highcross. Good range of books for the size, and most staff are helpful and friendly. If a book isn't in stock they're quick to offer to order it in-store. Recently took out all the seating which is slightly inconvenient, but more room for books!

Always lovely staff that recommend great books. Recently got recommend "why I'm no longer talking to white people about race" and it was one of the best books I've ever read. For a small Waterstones it has an amazing selection of books. Could spend hours in there!

A large-ish bookshop with plenty of choice as well as the usual non-bookie stuff you find in these sorts of establishments. One of the few left in town that Amazon hasn't yet crushed
