On the search for a good cream cake, I went to a lot of cafés in the UK - most of them only sell sponge with loads of icing. WA Cafe is different. We had a delicious matcha roll and a strawberry cake, both one of the best I had in the UK. The drinks are nicely complementing the food. The cafe itself is very well situated, clean and offers lots of places to sit and enjoy. The staff is friendly, helpful and delivers quickly. If you're near Trafalgar Square and up for a break, WA Cafe is definitely worth a visit!

The matcha roll cake is absolutely delicious, perfect sweetness! The matcha latte could be a bit sweeter however. Very crowded and have to wait for seats.

Neat little Japanese place for dessert, cakes and various type of teas. It was a nice place for a much needed break after a long walk. Very crowed with many young Asian customers.

I am really disappointed at the service here. Due to convenience , I decided to ask nicely if I could collect my cake in advance but the cashier felt the need to reply rudely and the other worker beside her kept giving me dirty looks. I was shocked at the way they treat their customers. As I collected the cake the next day, the cashier kept telling me to give her the confirmation email of the cake when I clearly did gave her the confirmation email. I insisted that it was the confirmation email and told her to look at it again, she then apologized and gave me the cake. The service is utter rubbish, it was the worst experience I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

I visited both both branches and ordered a whole cake a few times. If you don't like typical too much sugarly cakes, this is the right place. Their cheese cake tastes heavenly as well. The only issue is it is not cheap !

I left without eating or drinking as the staffs were very rude and unfriendly. They kept busy chatting with themselves and ignoring me . They even didn't say "Hi" when I entered the cafe. Its very shame but I won't visit them again.

Lovely Japanese patisserie! Closest thing you can find in London to the fancy cakes you can get in a Tokyo patisserie where they took some of our European cakes and made them better!

Absolutely fantastic Japanese patisserie in Soho, London. I would of uploaded pictures but the cake was so delicious that we finished it too quickly! Thank you.

The cakes were delicious and the shop itself looks very appealing but the staff were quite rude to us, they served customers in front of us professionally and friendly like, when it was our turn they walked to the other side of the shop and started having a conversation with each other, we were stood there for at least 5 minutes before my mum had to actually tap on the counter and say excuse me quite loud just so that we could get served like all the other customers, when the tall lady walked over she was abrupt and didn't listen to our order properly. Its a shame actually because we really wanted to sit down in the establishment and have a cup of tea with our cakes but the staff made us feel unwelcome and unwanted, I really didn't expect to be treated like a second class citizen in a diverse metropolitan city like London, my birthplace and home BTW.

The foods and drinks are good, but the staff are indifferent and impolite. Yesterday I was lining up, and it was about my turn to order the staff just left me at the cashier, because they had to serve for other customers already dining in the shop. They kept me waiting for a long time but when they came back to get my order they said they couldn't let me order since I didn't get a table before I ordered. But I was alone in the shop and my friend had not arrived, I couldnt just leave my bag or coat to occupy the seat. I hope the owner could read these negative comments here. The table service and the staff's attitude should be improved. Covent garden is a high competitive place, and there are more cafes that have much better service and attitude. So I sincerely hope WA could improve, it is a pity that WA has such tasty and creative desserts while the service is so disappointed and uncomfortable.

Probably the best cheesecake there is in town. The black sesame cheesecake is to die for. The space is very small it’s better to get it to go!

Super surprised this cafe has no ratings yet, as its always packed! Located down a small street near Leicester Square and Covent Garden. It's an oasis, as its a calm quiet Japanese style modern teahouse. Great for conversations and dates. The main attraction are their cakes. Their signature is the white sesame cheesecake, and IMO this is the best Japanese cake in London! Hot drinks are also a good choice, including the hojicha lattes and match lattes. My favourite Jap cafe in London, and I'm torn writing this review as I want to keep this a hidden gem to myself, but also it is so good I want to shout about it. I rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves it!

Good fluffy cake, exactly the same as I had in Japan, especially the strawberry short cake, the classic Japanese strawberry cake!

It's a nice place where to pretend you eat/drink Japanese specialities. Quite expensive though. Two teas, almost 9£.

Drinks were very good, tried the matcha latte and hojicha with my partner. The cakes were very good and not too sweet. Only downside was that the tables/space were quite small

Had a sandwich, which was excellent. Too much single use plastic is in use though, paper bags / cardboard serving boxes would have made it 5*

The staff are very nice. The cakes are very expensive but very good. I tried the Roll Cake and the Short Cake which were both light, fruity and just the right amount of sweet.

Covent Garden. Modern cool, calm, uncluttered Japanese style patisserie. Offering very rich and utterly indulgent treats????. One cake and hand drip coffee £9.20

Worst place ever! Food is ok, but people who work there are impolite and charged higher prices than stated! Will never go back! Don't recommend at all if you don't eat to destroy your mood and good day!

Probably my favourite of all the Japanese cake shops/patisseries in London. I called to save a Mont Blanc for my husband’s birthday, which the staff happily put aside for me. When I went to collect in the evening, they had sold out so I was very lucky, and he was very very happy!

Very relaxed and minimalist Japanese coffee shop, small but good quality selection of normal and matcha coffee's and tea's and sweet light desserts. Can be a bit cramped when it's busy, but the decor is calming and simple. Maybe could do with a few more sweet and savoury food selections but apart from that, a good place to sneak into to get out of the busy streets of the Covent Garden area.

First time at the Covent Garden branch - layout is pretty much the same as the original branch, but it’s definitely a lot more crowded and they don’t have enough chairs. Had the sesame cheesecake, matcha roll and strawberry shortcake - all were very light but delicious. Their tea lattes never disappoint as well. The black sesame latte is also quite unique!

Lovely cosy place, very clean, cakes are nice and light but a bit pricey. Staff were nice but I do think more training is needed as the service was so so.

Very lovely and clean place. 5* rating for not having over sweetened cake. The prices are to match the location at £4-7 per slice. Very crowded during the weekend but ideal for a Saturday morning break.
