This fabric shop in my view is the best independent fabric shop around. On line ordering is first class, you get a good size sample and some refund when ordering. Delivery is quick and efficient.
The best thing about Ditto is Gill the owner and her merry band of helpers all experienced and knowledgeable sewers. Second to none and nothing is too much trouble regardless of size of order.
Recently I was trying to source a fabric to make a wedding dress for my goddaughter and the only option was on line or in London at £45 per metre. I spoke to Gill and with a phenomenal memory looked in her sample book found the fabric called some favours and saved me £35 per metre. Fantastic you would NOT get this at Fabric Land. Use Ditto or heaven forbid we could loose it can't recommend highly enough. The underskirt for the dress is also Ditto linen and silk £9 per metre - amazing.

Lovely choice of fabrics! Unfortunately my favourites were about £12.99 a metre, which is a bit too much on my budget. A healthy choice of offcuts for reasonable prices as well though :)

I'm so lucky to have this treasure trove of a fabric shop on my doorstep. The selection of fabrics is second to none - Gill, the owner, really knows her stuff when it comes to quality and this is reflected in the stock. The vast majority of my sewing is clothing which is actually to be worn by me and small child, and I always find something that fits the brief in Ditto. I always get a friendly reception from staff and they are all knowledgeable and helpful and have experience sewing the fabrics they are selling. Cannot recommend highly enough! And by the way, I've never in all the years I've shopped here had fabric cut short.

I love this shop and I have shopped here regularly since moving to Brighton over 14 years ago. In all that time I have always received fantastic service and great advice on my purchases. They have a brilliant selection of fabrics and I always pop in when I'm in North Laine to see what's new. The staff are always very helpful and friendly and I heartily recommend Ditto! Way to go ladies!!

Really good range of high quality fabrics with helpful and knowledgeable staff who allow you to browse without following you around the shop. The prices are quite reasonable for such good quality, also there is a small remnant table where you might find a bargain.

I have just measured again the two lengths of fabric I purchased yesterday. Not for the first time it has again been cut short of the measurement I asked for. It may only amount to a few centimetres but most fabric shops err on the generous side to make up for these mistakes. What a shame!

Fabulous selection of beautiful fabrics.......but short changed again.Measuring the metre of fabric to the exact 100cm and then cutting it inaccurately has happened yet again. Last time this happened my pattern pieces did not fit and allow me to make my garment. When I mentioned this to staff next time I was in Ditto it was shrugged off. How about being more generous in your measuring and cutting fabric ( as every other fabric retailer does ) and price accordingly ??
