Ive purchased a couple of items from SGS. Good swift delivery each time. Through my own fault I had to call sales support and they were brilliant also. Quality is good and I feel value for money. Well done SGS. I will keep coming back.

Worst experience we have ever had with a company! Their customer department is a JOKE. The lip seal on our 20 tonne press has failed over a month ago, and their customer/technical departments weren't able to send us the tools & parts required to carry out this repair even if the part was still under warranty, with no suggestion on their behalf to send a technician out to fix the issue. They keep finding excuses upon excuses without assuming any responsibility. It is obvious they buy their tools from Asia, do a bit of re-branding and don't even know what they are selling. This has cost us a lot in terms of losing both customers & income over the last month. We will never make a purchase again from SGS Engineering and I would advise you to do the same.

Unfortunately have to leave a poor review for SGS after previously highly recommending to others on previous products such as axle stands. This time I bought a 2.5t trolley jack and after 6 or so uses it lost all of it's oil over the garage floor and no longer works safely. After numerous emails with SGS i was told this isn't covered under warranty as seals are a consumable item and i would need to buy a seal kit. This I had to pay for the high postage cost for. The seals once ordered didn't arrive and on speaking with them they said they don't have a lead time and it also doesn't come with the oil or instructions on how to fit. I have no idea how to sort it. In fact the instructions for the jack says not to repair yourself. I've expressed in my opinion a faulty jack with a manufacturing defect should be covered by the warranty. I'm not sure what is, the handle maybe. Sending back the jack and being provided a replacement is not being offered and the seals are unavailable until who knows when. I've now no option but to throw in the bin a practically brand new and expensive jack. I'll probably put on freecycle for those who are able to repair these kind of things. Avoid SGS Engineering. If the product works then fine but if it's faulty or you have issues expect a terrible after service and a non existent warranty. ironically i was just about to buy some more equipment from them luckily this has put me off just in time.

I needed good quality loading ramps quickly and for a decent price. SGS delivered on both counts. Other larger online delivery companies where not even close on delivery times! Great company and will definitely use again in the future.

Excellent communication, advice and service. SGS provided the solution to lifting the additional weight of my Transit Custom Camper tailgate fitted with bike rack and bike! Replacement adjustable 1200N gas struts arrived next day, fitted precisely within minutes, solving a long standing issue after much wasted time trying to hunt down suitable items myself. Highly recommended.

Worst customer service ever. 22 days, 4 different people & no resolution. After a bad experience with sgs recently I have to write this review. My wife purchased a set of the expensive blue hydraulic wheels skates for me as a Christmas present. Unfortunately they do not fit under the rear of my car due to part of the skate fowling on part of the cars rear suspension. I first contacted sgs via telephone & spoke to Valeria who wasn't the most helpful her manner was very stand offish she didn't listen to what I had to say & was of the opinion that it was my fault or a problem with the car. I was asked to provide photographic evidence of the issue which I did via email later that day (15/01/21). 4 days later (19/01/21) I received a reply asking for details of the car, make, model, wheel & tyre size, again implying that either my car or myself is at fault. I replied with all the details & reiterated what the issue was. After a further 10 days on the 29/01/21 I received another email this time from a different person (Samantha) asking if the issue was resolved & apologising as Valeria was on leave & she was just picking up her emails. I replied saying the issue was ongoing & how disappointed I was. Cut to today (05/02/21) & my wife called sgs for an update & spoke to yet another person only to be told that the problem is because "something has been welded to my car which is obstructing the skate" & because I have tried to use them & the wheels now have dirt on them (which will clean off) that they are no longer re sellable & they will not accept them back at all. The car is a 2004 Porsche 911 (996) C4 with standard Porsche suspension and the original 18" Porsche wheels. Nothing has been modified or "welded' to it. Absolutely horrendous customer service from start to finish I am so upset & disappointed considering the cost involved & especially as it isn't the first time I've purchased from sgs. I am now left with 4 very expensive wheel skates that are no use to me which I will have to try & sell on SGS You really should be ashamed of your disgraceful & unhelpful behaviour. I will never purchase any of your products again & I will tell all my friends, family & colleagues to do the same. Edit: 06/02/21 18:30 Okay let's get the facts straight shall we, please don't reply to my review with lies. At no point did I say I would leave negative reviews just because you would not take the skates back. Your customer service has been diabolical from the start & even now you refuse to believe that they are in a re sellable state despite the fact they have only been put under my car once & put back in the boxes. I would happily return them for a refund in full or a credit note to the same value but you clearly don't want to do that hence you constantly telling me they are not re sellable as new. You also want me to return them at my expense & given the size & weight of the skates this will be quite expensive & I feel I should not have to take a hit on this as it is not my fault that the skates are not suitable for my car, I know, as you repeatedly tell me I am legally obliged to pay for the return carriage but you have shown no good will or empathy right from the day I called you. The fact they do not fit under my car is nobody's fault & something that can only be found out by trying them so to say you won't have them back as I have used them is disgusting. Most companies that have stock returned will still sell them as open box or b stock or whatever, fact is you could still re sell them if you wanted to. You can see clearly from the photo's that they are as new & just need a wipe clean. Fact is you will do your upmost to avoid taking them back, your customer service sucks & you know it. I am just one of many many people who have fallen victim to you shoddy behaviour, 86 negative feedback score in 12 months on eBay alone says it all.

Excellent prices and a low spend ( £50 ) to achieve free next day delivery. Quick reply to email enquiries. All round great service. Definitely recommend.

Searched around for a good quality tool chest at a good price. Found SGS and reviews were good plus being UK manufactured and distributed really sold it. All trays of high quality, and all came with non slip mats. Not a major note but for me, its the added value. Quality product, a very professional product and delivered next day with the delivery guy assisting putting it to my shed without asking. Again added value. Wouldn't hesitate to use again or recommend to anyone.

I ordered a gas strut as a replacement for a defective one on my caravan. I found the product well made and is working well. I opted for second class post over a bank holiday weekend and it arrived in a timely manner, excellent service.

I was looking for a tool chest/ cabinet to replace my existing storage and came across SGS during a Google search. I spent a bit of time reviewing and based on price and delivery, as well as the positive reviews I placed an order. Their site was easy to navigate and there was no problem placing the order and subsequent checkout procedure. Delivery was ahead of schedule, with good updates from the courier. The packaging was without fault and my cabinet arrived in perfect condition. It required a minimum of assembly and is now doing exactly what I wanted it to do. No hesitation in recommending this company.

Purchased two boot struts. First emailed to confirm the correct part number and got very quick reply confirming and a link to the part. Upon ordering I mistakenly ordered 1 not 2. This was quickly picked up by SGS who emailed querying the purchase of one strut. They confirmed they can hold my order awaiting reply. I confirmed I did need two, rang to pay the extra cost and this was added to my original single strut and no extra postage incurred. They arrived quickly and well packed. Can't fault the customer service, speed and efficiency of the whole transaction. Thank you

I had been looking for a new drill/driver combo set, and SGS had what I wanted at a competitive price. Ordered, and delivered next working day, with follow up email reminding me to register my tools for the extended guarantee. Excellent service, highly recommended

The best price I could find for the item I wanted. Ordered 9pm on Monday evening and item was delivered Wednesday morning. Fantastic service from SGS and if this Milwaukee tool is like my others I expect years of trouble free service from it too. Will DEFINITELY use these guys again when I'm next looking for tools. Ordered the 2.5 ton jack and axle stands package (which, incidentally is more expensive to buy as a package than to buy separately). Axle stands arrived looking like the picture below. As an ex welder I would have got the sack for producing something like that. The fact that this weld was supposed to support a 2 ton vehicle while above my head is absolutely shocking and it should never have got past SGS quality control. I sent the axle stands back. I have only used the jack once. I have since read posts online about weld on peoples jacks failing and all sorts of quality issues. I wouldn't recommend SGS Engineering.

Really quite sad to be posting a negative review after using this company for many years with good products and service. But this last experience has not been good. I bought a gas strut for my tractor. One almost identical to the one that had failed after at least 7 years of use. The new gas strut supplied only worked for a few weeks. It caused me a lot of cost as it resulted in bent pins on the tractor. The gas strut is meant to have a 2 year guarantee. But SGS are not honoring that as they claim the installation has caused it to fail. It is true that the installation on a tractor is not pretty, and it does get covered in dust. But the fact remains the last one lasted at least 7 years and this one has been installed in exactly the same way and has only lasted a few weeks. I sent photos and videos of the issue and they pointed out some marks on the gas strut body. These marks are paint scrapes caused by me during the installation as I held the strut in my grips. However, they say these marks are caused by inteference where it is fitted to the tractor and that that has caused the unit to fail. This is complete rubbish. I know for a fact I made those marks and that the unit does not foul. Also even if it did it would be doing exactly the same as the previous strut which lasted 7 years. A £30 quid poor quality gas strut has caused me weeks of down time and repairs and SGS are refusing to replace it. They now want me to send it back for inspection. I am now, sadly, out of patience. I can't afford down time. I'm flabbergasted that a £30 part is being argued about in the first place. I need it replaced. communication has been slow. I can wait no longer and will be buying else where from now on. As requested in your comment below the reference is 264460 This unfortunately was not resolved although SGS did offer to inspect it if send it back to them. But frankly it was too much hassle to pack and post. I've ordered another one from another company which is working perfectly.

Recently purchased from these guy and what a brilliant experience I had !! The website was easy to use and I found the jack and axel stands I wanted in no time at all. Being new to the mechanics side of life I wanted something I could trust and would make me feel safe while under the car. The 3ton Jack and 4 6ton stands was the answer to my fears and worries!! But the additional bonus to it all was the FREE next day delivery!!

I have dealt with many companies over the last 50 years or so but I have to say that SGS Engineering has to be the top one of all of them. Nothing is to much trouble from them, extremely helpful and polite to all of their customers. The items they sell are of extremely good quality and their pricing is unbeatable. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone, keep up the good work SGS Engineering.

I did a lot of research on other companies and model's over several weeks. I then went for SGS and a 90l compressor. The ordering was very fast and efficient with despatch the same day. I choose 2/3 day delivery but it was delivered intact in 36 hrs. I'm more than happy with the quality and service. It exceeds my expectations!

I experienced a failure of the connector at the end of a car boot gas strut. I thought that I would have to replace the complete strut but customer service pointed out that as struts and connectors were sold separately I could just replace the connector. I replaced all four with high quality connectors made of steel instead of the tatty plastic ones and did not replace the gas strut. A winner!

Ordered a tool chest that arrived the very next day. Good value for money and it does exactly what I needed it for. The quality of the tool chest is better than you would expect for it being under £100. Don't expect a high end build like a snap on tool chest for the price but it's solid and it's great for my tools in the garage.

Top quality stuff at amazing prices, I don’t look anywhere else. I’ve had a heavy duty jack from SGS for a few years now. Outlived every other brand I’ve had and it’s not even had a service! The small £99 drawer chest stack is a steal! As a mobile mechanic it’s perfect for my main tools in and out the vehicle & if it gets bashed at that price I’d buy another!

I bought the SGS 12 tonne H Frame Hydraulic Press. Initially I made a mistake ordering the wrong press and Lauren & Shelby at SGS were very helpful, quick & efficient in helping me correct it. The press arrived on time and was easy to assemble. It's well built for domestic use at this price level and I've now used it several times for pressing in bearings and am very happy with it.

SCAM COMPANY please beware!!!!! My son in law kindly ordered me an air con unit (3-1) I assumed it meant it was a heat fan as well. But actually turned out to be a normal fan!!.. obviously, didn’t need a normal fan and air con unit? So sent it back and I had to pay for postage. My son in law waited a week to hear back regarding refund. SGS then wrote back and said the tubing was broken , which totally surprised myself as we hadn’t even used that (seeing the weather is way to cold for air con at present) a month in and still no response as far as I’m concerned they have stolen my money!!!!!! What a complete scam!!! I wouldn’t trust this company!!!!!!

Bought a 50L compressor which came with 10m hose and 2 outlets and regulator as part of the deal. Added a tool set and an air drill. Excellent value and quality and super fast delivery to the West Coast of Scotland. I definitely recommend them and will use them again.

Peugeot 207cc gas springs Easy to order the correct gas struts for my Peugeot. Arrived quickly and came with easy to follow instructions. Very happy with the service.

I purchased a 2.5 trolley jack that was used for private use, car restoration and it failed just over 12 months old (leaked) After numerous emails and phone calls I have decided to give up, last resort was they send me seal kit and I repair, which in turn invalidates the two year warranty plus I'm no hydraulic engineer. Customer service is not great and resolution is not better either. Avoid and look at the feedback before purchasing from SGS. They may be good on some things but not the resolution of products that fail before warranty expires.

Ordered some Gas struts for a modification on my car and they came, as described, well packaged and to spec. I've brought tools from SGS for years and they are always higher quality then you would initially expect for the price! really knowledgeable and professional people to deal with. would certainly recommend!

I shopped around before buying and I'm glad I chose this one. It's a good tool box plenty of room, seems sturdy so far. SGS delivered it very quickly and at a good price.
