Avoid at all costs. We're months in with no progress despite paying Nelsons 1000's.
Takes at least 3 weeks to reply to an email and then it's further questions...all just a con to charge you for phone calls and emails whilst robbing people of their inheritance. Awfully unethical practice.

Please think twice before consulting this firm of solicitors , I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what I did . I initially consulted a paralegal concerning a Coroners inquest into the death of my wife and after that I contacted her concerning a potential judicial review concerning the matter, of which I had a three month window of opportunity. The paralegal in question unnecessarily wasted two months of my precious time , by dragging it on and poor communication . When I was finally contacted by her I was angry that this was only to tell me that in her opinion I had no case and the Coroner had done a thorough job . I was then left in a right mess , frantically ringing around other firms of solicitors to get the Judicial review . Fortunately for me another firm of solicitors saw merit in my case and despite having just three weeks remaining of the deadline took on my case and very quickly discovered that this Coroners inquest should have been done in front of a jury and as an article 2 , which gives a narrative verdict . The paralegal at Nelson's should have picked up on that straight away ! I then had to contact Nelson's for some paperwork and , once the receptionist took my name , the phone was slammed down on me ! Most unprofessional and incompetent .

I contacted Nelsons Solictors and I got in contact with Dianne Collins, who took over my claim 'no win no fee, explained the costs in case of a win, she keep informing me all the time, very efficient and pleasant to work with. In June she handed over the case to her colleague Emma Howard, a absolutly fantastic person who manage to obtain a great result very fast, a very efficient person.
In this way I want to thank them both for the efficience and work done despite COVID-19. I would definitely recommend.

Our case was handled by Annette Wilkinson who kept us updated throughout on what the position was and what options were available to us. We have received the final payment from our customer today which covers all our trade debt, the legal costs from Nelsons and interest for late payment. Terrible solicitors. Lack professionalism and overcharge. We had a fixed fee arrangement and they billed us in excess of the fixed fee without any warning or discussion and acted like they were doing us a favour as they had clocked up a lot more hours! They don’t focus on the facts and waste time on trivial points to lock up hours. their rationale for overcharging is was poor and lacked justification...for a law firm would expect better..! Shocking they call themselves lawyers. They then put junior staff on the job and charge for their inexperienced time too. Cathryn Selby has no customer service skills whatsoever...rude, unprofessional and has no training in service. Avoid !! So many other legal forms in the East Midlands that do a lot better for a better price. Nelsons’ ego exceeds their skills. I see a lot of others who give 5 stars to Nelsons have only given the one review hence dubious...

Nelson Solicitors are worth they weight in gold. We have tired a few debt collection agency / people and solicitors over the years, but none of them compare to the service or professionalism that we receive with Nelsons. On a case basis we deal directly with Mac Clarkson (approx. 10 years) and if all the staff are as happy / friendly, brilliant at their jobs as Mac the bosses must be so happy. He’s only once or twice not been able to recover our money, and has always kept us informed of where the case(s) stand and our options going forward.

Disgusting solicitors. We went through four years of hell with these people. My fathers passing was made tens times more painful and difficult. Nelsons are unprofessional, rude and don’t have a clue when it comes to any form of empathy. All they wanted was as much money from my fathers estate as possible. If you have to use these people avoid Nadia like the plague! She is the worst solicitor I’ve ever come across, she’s threatening, obnoxious, useless and impossible to talk to. I can’t put in to words how much hurt and upset these people have caused me and two other family members. Please avoid at all costs, there are more professional solicitors out there.
