We contacted Fran and Carrie after looking at their website. They were very responsive and were happy to make their service fit in with what we wanted for our daughter. Perhaps more importantly, we had confidence that they would properly look after our daughters body. The death of a loved one is always upsetting, but Fran and Carrie and their team made the process easier and made little suggestions along the way which really helped. Our experience of using A Natural Undertaking was a positive one and one that we would recommend to others.

My Mom had a vim and vigor and a very quirky sense of humour and Fran and Carrie although they never met my Mom, listened carefully and helped guide me through the whole process. They were totally in tune with what my Mom had suggested and helped deliver a send off that people still talk to me about today, years later. Cardboard coffin, no problem (they helped decorate it with pictures meaningful to Mom), no black. . .not a problem, Led Zeppelin . . .lets turn it up loud, Celebrant. . .we know just the lady. At one of the worst times of our families lives, we could not have asked for a better service from Carrie, Fran and Roxy at "A natural undertaking." From the initial zoom call with Carrie, she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect in looking after our beautiful Mom.
From arranging the service to allowing us to visit Mom as many times as we wished in such a light and peaceful environment, the beautiful wicker coffin, beautiful order of service booklets and the overall compassion and genuine care shown, everything was perfect and how Mom would have wanted. We honestly feel we could have not got through such a horrendous time without Carrie and the team.

Thank you so much , Fran & Carrie, for being so helpful, caring and making sure that we were given choices for our dad's recent funeral. They helped with the florist- ( Carole at Tuck Shop Flowers) , and suggested a brilliant celebrant ( Ruth Jewell) , and made the process as pain free as possible in so many ways . This included liaising with the crematorium and Obitus to make sure our rather exacting music requirements were organised , and they even had a 'back up' to put our mind at ease. No hesitation in giving a 5 star rating , no-one could wish for anything more so I can't praise them highly enough . Alison & family

When my nan passed away I had the dread of planning the funeral. Fortunately Google led me to Fran at A Natural Undertaking. As fate would have it, Fran knew my nan as she was the lollypop lady at the local school.
The warmth, compassion and kindness Fran showed us was above and beyond.
Fran explained all the different funeral services we could have for Nan and was patient until we made our decision.
She thought about every tiny detail and made it such an easy and pleasant experience.
Every single person that attended the funeral said it was the most personal they had ever been too.
I thank Fran and her team for allowing us to celebrate Nan's life. We shall look back at her final farewell with a smile rather than sadness.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Fran for helping us to organise a lovely funeral for my Mum. She guided us along the way with kindness and empathy. There were also some lovely touches, including the lock of hair and the fingerprint cast, which were given to us on the day of the funeral. She also introduced us to Jess, who worked with us on the order of service and gave us some lovely ideas, including placing gifts for my Mum on her coffin. I am grateful to Fran and Jess for helping us through the last few weeks, for always being there for us, and for making sure my Mum had a beautiful, moving and uplifting service-thank you so much!

I was confident from the first time I spoke to Carrie that we could trust A Natural Undertaking to provide the kind of funeral that I believe Neil would have wanted, and so it proved.
We were treated with patience and understanding at all times whilst making often difficult choices and only gently prompted to meet deadlines.
The use of 'technology' to compile and produce the Order of Service and the final interactive Web page was particularly appropriate in the midst of Covid and provided the opportunity for more people to participate.
Suggestions made for the choice of Celebrant, Katherine, and the choice of flowers, Tuckshop Flowers, proved to be perfect.

Saying goodbye to someone you love is the hardest thing to do. Where to start ? Don't hesitate to call Fran or Carrie at a Natural Undertaking. They were recommended by a friend when our dear Mom passed away, and we turned to them again when our Father died this year. Harder now to organise in a Lockdown , many restrictions adding to the stress of an emotional, difficult, challenging situation. But there are options and Fran guided us so kindly through them all with such consideration ,understanding and sound helpful advice that we were able to relax and focus on what was important to us as a family. Everything we didn't know about, Fran or Carrie did; including recommending the perfect celebrant to lead our service ,where to get the flowers we wanted , organising music and webcam so family and friends in lockdown could still join us . Everything ran so smoothly. Everyone said it was one of the loveliest services in spite of all the restrictions. Dad had a long, full and lucky life. Fran and Carrie made the whole experience personal comfortable, and human. Dad would have loved it ! On behalf of the whole family we cannot thank you enough.

The care & support you gave went above & beyond what would have been expected from any other service provider. In particular the amount of time spent with Hazel making sure that every detail was right and was what she & Laurence wanted. And it was. Lovely service and a happy send off for Laurence. I cannot speak highly enough of the superb service we had from A Natural Undertaking. With kindness and compassion, Fran guided us through the process of organising my brother's funeral whilst we were in a state of utter shock. All of our (sometimes quirky) requests were dealt with professionally and a lightness of touch. The live stream of the service so that many friends and relatives both here and abroad could watch it was amazing. The fingerprint mould you gave us was such a thoughtful idea. The final cost was very reasonable indeed, incredible value. Thank you for making a traumatic time less stressful and helping us produce a memorable service of which we were all very proud.

They wanted to help us create the funeral that was right for our family, and to remember Dad in our warm and slightly quirky way. They even indulged us with the custard jokes. Carrie, Fran and everyone at A Natural Undertaking were fantastic in arranging my Mum's funeral. Carrie was keen right from the start to make sure that everything was just so, despite the fact that we were working on a budget. Everything was clear and well explained (in fact, from beginning to end, communication was exemplary). Fran was fantastic in putting together the order or service as well. They communicated with all of the relevant parties, such that everything came together seamlessly.
I hope that I never need to, but if I need to arrange a funeral again, I won't hesitate to give them a call.

A Natural Undertaking is an undertakers with a difference. No stuffy offices with men in black suits. Just lovely helpful and caring people. Lots of choices were available and nothing was too much trouble. We did not feel pressurised or rushed into making decisions. Our whole experience was dealt with total empathy and efficiency. The funeral and the celebration of life for my Father-in-Law were just what he and the family wanted, we couldn't have asked for better. From start to finish Carrie, Fran and zed were the most wonderful undertakers we could have asked for. They were so much more than just funeral directors, they were supportive, respectful and inspiring.
Our family had an idea of what we wanted for Holly's funeral and everyone at A Natural Undertaking helped guide us with her wishes.
Holly wanted a natural burial and it was in her quirky nature to have a creative and diverse farewell which is exactly what she got.
Death and grief is extremely hard especially when a loved one is so young. We felt like we had an opportunity to help others through this process as a result of everything they had to offer us. Our family, our children & friends were all involved (as per our wishes) thanks to the huge effort and organisation of these wonderful people at A Natural Burial.

Carrie and Fran are amazing! Nothing is too much trouble for them and they go the extra mile to make sure that people get exactly the funeral they want. We had a big funeral at Cambridge Road Methodist Church and wanted to use a YouTube clip of my husband playing the Birmingham Town Hall organ which had been his special 60th birthday treat. Carrie managed to arrange an audio clip so that everyone heard Mark playing at his own funeral, which made the service really special. I know Mark would have loved the service. Thank you Fran and Zed for helping us through this terribly tough time. You helped us (my four children and myself) to feel safe from that first morning, and to make the decisions which were needed, while making it clear that the choices were all ours. We held a commemoration event for Bill at Highbury Hall, which allowed family and many friends from over the decades to gather with memories. I think Bill would have been proud of us. As a family we decided to go forward with a direct cremation and hold our own service outside a church environment. Even though this was with our fathers wishes it is sometimes easy to think you must follow the 'traditional' route. Fran & Carrie were both supportive in helping us ensure the day was the right mix of sadness and celebration. It was the little caring things which made the difference. So if you want the right service without feeling you are still in the 1950s then Natural Undertaking will provide a first class service whether its a simple option like ours or a full bespoke option.

The service provided by a Natural Undertaking was perfect.
Fran and Carrie advised and guided us through both the process and the decisions that we needed to make for my father’s funeral with thought and understanding. They advised us what was possible and made constructive suggestions without pressure. They then calmly undertook the organisation of the service itself with calm efficiency despite late inputs from ourselves. The resulting service was both personal and appropriate to say goodbye to my father from myself, our family and his friends.
I was specifically appreciated that Carrie found time to discuss in general the workings of the undertaking business which one at other times have little time or inclination to investigate. It certainly helped me during this time.

Carrie and Frances bought a heart centred approach to a very sad and difficult time with the death of my brother. They organised the funeral in a week and it ran so seemlessly, so smoothly that the image I get when summing up how I feel about their services is a beautiful Swan gently gliding through water. Thier compassion, kindness and ability to listen, guide and respond softens my heart as I write this.
Their attention to detail and having everything covered was such a massive weight off the family’s shoulders. We felt completely held. Fran and Carrie have to be the best undertakers - ever. They arranged a funeral for my brother exactly to my and my brothers wishes even though it was unconventional and green. Thhey just did everything from the coffin to the commemoration to the catering and the green burial. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
