This Shell petrol service station in the only one in Congleton and such it gets a lot of local people using it for either diesel or petrol fuels. like all modern service stations today there is a small shop where you pay your money where you can purchase a few items. You will find snacks like sandwiches ????, crisps plus a host of chocolate goodies to choose from. Newspapers, magazines and maps are also available along with cold drinks. The station is very clean and well maintained but at busy times you may have to queue for a short time. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Very expensive Fuel when compared to the surrounding areas. If you are local apply online for a free fuelpecker fuel discount card for domestic customers, which gives you a 3p (petrol) / 4p (diesel) a litre discount from all Esso Garages, ( which then makes buying fuel from Porters on Padgbury lane much cheaper than Shell).

RUDE PEOPLE, PUT MY MONEY THE CAR VAC, IT DIDN'T WORK. Expensive station, this is not the only petrol station in Congleton there are 2 others in the town. This is in a prime location currently but once thd link toad is done may not be. The station its self is clean and open 24 hours but is hit and miss.

Two weeks ago my son pulled up to refuel diesel he went to the kiosk an was refused service an was accused of filling up petrol an not paying this is absurd as his car runs on diesel not petrol when he asked for the camera to be played back he was told it wasn't possible not only was he accused of thieving petrol he was left with no diesel to get home I am outraged that he was left in this position 30 miles away from home an you hadn't the decency to prove my son was innocent before refusing him service I will be taking the incident further an to the local papers

Only offered a 50p refund when I put £2 in an air machine that didn't work. Had to stand my ground and hold up a queue of people they called the manager who offered £1. After holing everyone up for a bit longer they refunded the money I had lost in the faulty machine. Rediculous policy to offer a minimum refund rather than refunding the amount lost.

Terrible service at the petrol station. Pulled in to fill up my care and stood there in the driving rain waiting for the pump to be reset, while the man at the counter was wiping the coffee machine!
Having nearly driving off, I filled up and said to the guy I didn't think you were going to let me have fuel and I was getting soaked! Expecting maybe a sorry or some level of courtesy? no! All I get is "oh right". Then complete silence the receipt thrown at me and no thank yo for having put £50 in his till!
Will be complaining formally to Shell!

This station has been refurbished since many of the poor reviews from previous years. Good facilities on site, and although not the cheapest fuel, the location is convenient.

Diesel at Shell Congleton 120.9 per litre!!
Diesel at bp in Biddulph 116.9 per litre
Diesel at Sainsbury's in Biddulph 113.9 per litre
If you filled up a 50L tank at Sainsbury's it would cost you £3.50 less than if you filled up at Shell, it's as far from my house to get to Sainsbury's Biddulph as it is to get to Shell Congleton so it's a no brainer! Sainsbury's all the way!
My vans done 140,000 + miles so not bothered about fuel quality, however if the other reviews on here are anything to go off Shells petrol is full of water so not sure they could argue theirs is better quality than Sainsbury's!
Also at the Congleton Shell the nozzles are never clean and always tend to be covered in Diesel or Petrol and its pot luck as to wether or not the "Pay at Pump" works or on the rare occasion it does work it's out of receipt paper.
