'Syft provided me with frequent work during difficult times. Staff were always friendly and contactable, whilst the app was straightforward and easy to use. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for flexible work or just looking to take up lots of hours'

I have been with Syft since they were just getting set up in London and they've been a great help especially during this time of difficulty given the pandemic circumstances. The company has expanded and as such their resources in dealing with customer services have also undergone significant change. Once you know how best to reach them they are extremely helpful, always going to extra mile until a satisfactory resolution has been reached (shoutout to Hannah and George who run their Socials) .

This is a worse recruitment agency what I met, very unpleasant, rude, etc. Where is the human being?

Best place to work for an International Student. Syft pays higher than all other agencies. It's flexible, you get to choose the days/ shifts you want to work. Management team one of the best. Absolutely loved working for syft!

Company social media group has a gatekeeper who doesnt buy herself in the staff shoes. Please let staff air their views!! Management does not engage with staff. Furlough payments were dodgy with company paying 10 days for November furlough. Overall my past experiences with clients I work for were enjoyable.

Not flexible. Advertises that you can pick and choose shifts that suits you. This is not the case. When trying to cancel a shift with more than 24hrs notice they come up with excuses as to why they cant. Wages are always incorrect thats if you get paid at all on time. STEER CLEAR

I review very honestly. Syft is one of the worst hospitality agencies in London. You will spend over one day signing up and going to the induction and will need to apply for over 30 shifts to maybe get 1. Absolute waste of time. Do not bother signing up.

Signing process was fine. The staff working seems very nice and I was excited to be a part of this community. Customer service cannot be called so email has to be sent in case of any issues. Experience so far: It took 4 weeks to get the first shift, once I gotten the first shift and it was a last minute one with higher rate it was a happy moment. Once on the job, all went fine and everyone was happy, clocked in and clocked out with the app with my location turned on. Three days later, received an email that I did not show up for my shift and will not get paid yet. It took 2 weeks to resolve that over emails and the payment is still pending.

Just to say that it is very nice of them to offer to furlough their hospitality staff as well as offering jobs outside the catering and hospitality industry temporary till the current climate change. It really is what makes the deference between good and bad agencies ????

Great for people who want to make a bit of extra money on the side. I was able to pick shifts when they suited me and the pay is decent for the work associated with the industrial, warehouse and security related roles. I signed up using the app and completed my online health and safety compliance checks, which was pretty much straightforward, watch a couple of videos and answer the questions at the end. Then I attended the interview at one of their offices to verify myself. Simple as that! When Joining Syft feel free to use my code: OMARI6 & get a £20 bonus for the 1st shift.

They changed our contract without our approval, which I’m sure is illegal, just so you wouldn’t be eligible to Furlough. Don’t bother signing up there, most of the jobs available are very far, very hard, and not worth the money.

Having applied for a positon with my local Sainsbury in Thanet, Kent and completed the online syft app requirements and was verified blah blah blah I now receive numerous alerts daily for postions at London Colony Park which is out of my geographical area. I have stopped alerts however they continue to arrive at great pace and strangely all for London Colony, St Albans. Is this a techinical fault with syft? The disappointing fact being I followed the process however the job I applied for is not available any longer and I am being bombarded by alerts for a St. ALbans London store that isnt of interst or in my catchement area. I am currently employed with a major competitor and frankly if this is how syft and Sainsbury plan to recuruit then its a sad day for retail. I wait for your response Oliver

Unpunctual wages payments I am still waiting for missed wages , they don't provide enough shifts even the few that they offer they are too far away even out of London, their main problem is they don't care about their staff neither they don't help them at all . I feel completely disappointed with them . I will go to another agency because I don't want to work for free or getting delayed wages payments .

Good agency. Good jobs to claim. However you need to be quick to claim a job otherwise it's gone. The first second you hear the notification, you usually have 20 secs before the job is gone, so make sure to be quick. Most shifts however like your four hour shifts aren't worth considering the travel and the tax, you make little profit. This means you're mostly attached to your phone waiting for that golden shift.

If you don't want your time wasted then don't bother with this agency. I applied in August and still haven't had a first shift. I wish I could give them no stars at all. There is a low availability on shifts and when I did apply there was no confirmation if I had gotten the job. I have applied for 5-6 different shifts and received no confirmation for a single job whatsoever. Syft don't even have a customer service number so I had to chat to the support team in the app instead. I've been told 3 different things- "lower your pay rate", "wait 24 hours before the start of the shift" and "you've got to wait for the employer to confirm". Such an inconsistent company!! They don't have access to the employers' database so they can't tell you anything about the confirmation until it is booked. Sometimes when I've applied for shifts, they'd disappear once I went back on the app. This is so infuriating because they have a strike policy for cancelling a shift but I've received a notification for a potential strike even though I was told I hadn't been booked in for a job yet. This is company is absolutely ridiculous and a waste of time. I shouldn't have even bothered applying.

I have been trying for a month to get Syft to pay a shift I have done where their client marked me as no show although I was there and I have been ticked off on their lists 3 to 4 times.... there is no way to contact Syft London except through a chat and even then you chat with someone from a diffrent city. It is very disappointing for me because I've always respected the commitment to the shifts I took, always on time and my work is not paid because someone, somewhere wants to save money and Syft can't be bothered to do the right thing.

Its a good company to work for if you are looking for temporary or occasional work. Some clients will try and recruit you if they see you are a hard worker, so don't be scared to say 'no'. The pay is the national minimum 8.40 plus holiday pay (so youll see the total of 9.50 smth on your app). if you are smart enough and willing to risk, wait till the very last minute, the hourly rate will go up, if Syft cannot find anyone to fill up the role. This is especially true for busy periods. Last tip, sign up with a few agencies at the same time, to ensure youve for work when you need it the most. Good luck, dear colleagues, and thanks for reading, Syft managers ;)

I have picked up some shifts on my free time on the weekends. Its a great way to earn some extra £ and pay is higher than other agencies. So far I have received my pay in time and haven't have any probs. Use my ref code ANNIP3 to get extra £20 on your first shift!

Don’t bother. God forbid this is meant to be the “future of employment “ because many people would be unemployed. Because there are so many people using the app, you are very unlikely to get a shift. I have applied to so many shifts and have not gotten them. I think it benefits their actual clients (big companies) rather than the employees. If you ask me, I’d say use a different agency. There is no point in having the highest pay if there is no work to get paid for

I give 1 star because there is no possibility to give 0 or minus. Staff is the worst company you could use, as they take the money from you before the shift. I called them to organise a shift of 7 days requiring the same chef for all the shifts. They booked me one guy for a Friday shift and no one else for the rest of shift ( which is already unprofessional as I requested same chef for all the shifts) I called them to let them know that I can’t take the guy unless he can do all days, and cancel all the shifts as a friend of mine offered his self to help me out. How ever they never cancel the shift even that when I called them the second time I been told that they contacted booking team and the shift was cancelled. After 1 hour I just checked the app to see if was deleted but the shift was still there plus for the res of the days (6days) someone booker in already. I called them again for 3rd time on 3 hours time. I told them about the issue and I been told they will have to compensate the guy as been notified before 24h and told them that this money can’t come from my side as it’s been an issue of their team and they should be taking responsibility for their mistakes. However they never did anything so on next day in the morning the chef messaged me 1h and 30 min after shift supposed to start telling me he woke up late ( even they told me has been cancelled they never did anything, so they just want to take mine from you, so you don’t decide the days you need people they will do for you so even if you tell them you don’t need the staff they will send you) so I told the guy that don’t need to come. In the evening after service I called them again to let them know and to tell them that I can still see the shift for the 6 days posted with a booking to please cancel as I didn’t want to pay for something should be already cancelled and didn’t wanted the chef to show up at 6am for nothing and send him home. They told me that there wasn’t any problem booking team had cancel the shift and in few minutes will disappear from the system. However next day at 6am the chef showed up to the restaurant and had to send him home and told him about what happened. So they guy had to woke up early come here at 6am to go back home and they have been charged me for the whole shift and didn’t refund me for that the amount of £720 so basically they going to still your money as the bank can’t send you back that money as direct debit. Basically DON’T EVER USE THAT COMPANY AS THEY ARE GOING TO PLAY WITH YOUR MONEY AND WITH THE PEOPLE WORKING FOR THEM!!!!

Good idea for those who need flexible hours - great concept. However the enrolment process in the London offices was one of the most patronising experiences I have ever faced. The woman presenting treated interviewees like children, telling people off for saying she was going through the slides too quickly, snarky comments, belittled people to give herself a sense of power. When being interviewed one on one, the same woman quizzed me on my coffee knowledge (rightly so as I applied for a barista job) yet seemed to test my knowledge on unnecessary things and looked pleased when I couldn’t answer. After all of this, I never heard back from them even though I passed all the assessments and answered the majority of her questions right. Waste. Of. Time. :)

I have requested my P45 and was told by Steve I will receive it momentarily. After chasing it up three times via email, I still have not been given an update and still no P45. Please look into case 00167128 and read carefully as I have made some requests. The response time and lack of communication on your end is very poor.

The most horrible, unprofessional agency I ever worked for!!! They lied to me about getting paid quicker during the Christmas just to get me to work! Then they changed their mind. When asked on their chat every person said something different. I requested two weeks ago a copy of my chats with them in order to pass it on to union, they answering my email with completely different quiries. They have lots of jobs they can not deliver people to so they do everything to make you go to work. Working 6 hours all we got to eat was cookies and water! Not even one hot drink and sandwich! The job very in organised!. They left us for more then 2 hours in cold hall with no seats. We were seating on the floor. I am still awaiting my payment. Absolutely discussing. I will sort them out with union though!

Best pay in hospitality. I was really happy until I had a pay problem for a particular shift that they seem to completely ignore (even if I have sent them 5 emails about it in a month). However they are very keen to take their money back on your current salary after an over-payment that happened more than two months ago.

Fabulous company. They are transparent and uncondescending, which is a rare pleasure at a London hospitality agency. The platform is free and easy to use and really well paid too. It also encourages a huge amount of independence so if you require someone to constantly keep an eye on you to work I would not recommend Syft

Not the best app if you actually meed to work. Simply no shifts, they come by like once in a blue moon and their clients are just...rude to manipulative. I booked a shift at rendezvous restaurant in Stamford Brook recently which indicated 7pm to 1am, just to get there and work 2 hours, then got told they aren't as busy as predicted. Like why didn't the syft app indicate the possibility of being sent home after 2 hours? So basically 6 for transport and payment would be just 12 because 9.50 per hour. Would anyone make that choice if they had full facts, to go and work for 12 pounds? Very degrading human treatment to say the least. I'd say rota and Coople are better choices if you want guaranteed work. Right now I'm on Syft I guess just for the sake of being there.

Syft might have a reputation of the best rate agency in hospitality industry, however paying £9 ph including holiday pay is bellow minimum wage in London. When joining them be really careful to get paid. Syft somehow doesn't pay people for months and no explanation is given whatsoever. Additionally, their office team take extraordinary long time to respond and resolve any queries. Overall, it is somehow okay to work with them for a while for extra money, but things like mentioned above demotivate workers to work with Syft.

I'm a freelance producer and photographer and sometimes work is not always available within my field. I joined Syft nearly 6months ago and I love Syft! Work is always available for you if you want. The hourly rates are really good and you get your money the following week. If you are responsible, punctual and hard-working this is the app/agency for you.

They basically do whatever they want with employees like there s no rules. You book and work a shift for a wage, they pay you the wage that they internally decide After. They assign you a shift and It suddenly disappears from the app. The customer service Is there Just to close the chat ASAP and not to sort out any problem. If you want to have bad days please work for Syft.

I've being told they will send it to me in 10 days after my first email. Never happen. They just don't care. Keep that in mind.
