This is a hidden gem and you wouldn't think you were in Watford walking around it. I went with my fiancee as a random afternoon out and we loved it. the animals looked happy and well looked after. The animals were intrigued by the humans walking around and some even came up close to be fed. In total, it took about an hour and a half to walk around and see everything we wanted to bit in future, this will be longer as they are always developing. Who would have thought that Watford could be so peaceful and beautiful at the same time? Would highly recommend to anyone. There are a wide variety of animals to see, including a petting zoo as well as a local produce stall selling jams, bread amongst other things. Once you are done at the animal enclosure, you have a huge park to walk around with child's play area and a newly developed tea and coffee stop. Not quite a whole day out, but you could lose an afternoon for sure. The only down side to this is it's not very well advertised and we only found out about it through word if mouth. It's good to help your local community and businesses so will be visiting again.

Hidden treasure in Watford. I have been living here for 5 years and not known about this place. So awesome and so many things to do and so many animals to see!! Flamingos, wolves, parrots, tortoises, meerkat's, pelicans and monkeys!!

A really nice day out. There are a lot of things to do and see. You can feed the animals and some can be petted, they are very gentle. There is a stall with farm produce and the eggs were really nice. Why 4? Not the best map, probably not updated. Some of the enclosures seem to little for the animals they house. There was a burger stall, but the burgers were pre-grilled so not the best taste. The lady taking orders wasn't cut out for taking orders so the que was long because she wasn't able to remember any orders. Some of the prices we on the high side. I review these places taking in consideration my kid's reaction too, hence 4 not 3 stars. She absolutely loved it.

A nice place to come for a short day out, with plenty of animals to see. The gardens and scenery were nice as well but there is clearly still a bit of work that needs doing here. Some of the enclosures for the bigger animals seemed a bit on the small side. Hopefully they will improve all this for next year when it reopens.

Excellent day out, fab selection of animals (and they look cared for) some fun activities for kids. Enough to keep you occupied all day. The food prices are not too bad either. Highly recommended ????

Only open a few days a year, wide range of animals for kids to enjoy. Probably not worth the entrance fee, and as an animal lover the animals seem to be in too small cages. The wolves and civic cats are just pacing up and down which is not a good sign, and there are way to many parrots in one enclosure. They'd be better off having less animals and bigger enclosures. An easy day out for a young family but as an animal lover you might be upset

This place supports, promotes and facilities on the sale of exotic animals as pets.. Especially concerning when it's small primates which should NEVER be kept as pets.

One of the hidden places in Watford that hardly anyone knows about. Exotic animals to see and touch but only open a few times a year. Definitely go when the open days occur in July & August. Watch the Meerkats, flamingos, red squirrels, pelicans and many others.

Animals should be in the wild, not a zoo.

Couldn't recommend this to any genuine animal lovers. Too many animals are in solitary with little to occupy them. Some of the cages are on the small side and the reindeer have no grass just mud and high nettles, with the metropolitan line rattling away overhead. The skunk and the aardvark seemed to be going crazy in small barren enclosures, back and forth repeatedly. I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this place is. The walk around the lake is nice and the old watercress beds with paddle boats for children was excellent and value for money. That being said I won't be back at the next open day. Surprised it's rated so highly to be honest.

Small farm with animals and birds and a great place for toddlers to roam around. Really enjoyed our visit. It's bit hard to find the location, if you reach by bus/taxi.

We had a fantastic Saturday morning at the farm. Our 16 month old daughter and 2 year old niece loved the meerkats (there were adult ones and baby ones so you could truly compare the meerkats) and the donkeys. Very friendly staff, an impressive range of traditional and obscure farmyard animals, and a great space to sit and relax with a picnic. We'll come again next summer!
