Staff are rude and security staff on the main entrance are abysmal. I feel sorry for anyone having to attend this office.

Dear sir/madam, I just want to state that I have been living in Scotland for the past few years and to no avail I have not been granted for a right to stay in this country. I am unable to go back to my own country mainly because i have been faced with violence which deters me going back and have no choice but to come into Scotland as I fear my life would be in danger if I were to be deported back. I have no means of money as I am not allowed to work in this country without any permission. Please I plead with you to let me have the right to stay in this country and to be given the right to work. I am unable to support myself any longer with no job which means no money. I do not want to be seen as an illegal immigrant and so I plead with you to have some compassion on myself. Regards Chen

The visa process is very intimidating. I had my first interview at Croydon and was traumatised by how I was treated. I already have PTSD due to violent events that led me here, so talking about it isn’t easy to begin with and causes a lot of panic. I came into the Glasgow home office building in tears, scared of reliving the past and being mistreated again, but the security in the second building were very friendly and welcoming. Even went out of their way to make me laugh and smile when they saw me in a state before my interview. My interviewer even was kind to me, which shocked me due to common horror stories I’ve heard. They all just seemed human. Of course they’re going to still be strict and professional, that’s to be expected. I don’t know what the outcome of my case will be, but thank you so much for treating me like a human yesterday.

Good premium service. I have spent there around 2 hours. Much better than in Croydon.

This place is awful but I think it is a deeply ingrained cultural and political discrimination against any immigrant. Over the years I have been to this centre a few times and the staffs always make sure you feel maximally unwelcomed. From the deeply racist moment like saying 'do you speak English' in a slow and condescending tone to troubling moment like 'this is how it is, if you don't like it, you can take your complaint else where, this place is an epitome of what's wrong with modern western society and their attitude against migrants. To make things worse, they are also classist in their very core. I always get treated rudely until they find out I am a doctor and I am just here to extend my visa. Their tone changes immediately. What makes them think it is ok to be rude to people of lower socioeconomic status (which they assume I must be of because I am an ethnic Chinese) but reasomably civil to a doctor? Thats even worse in my book than someone who is just pure racist to everyone. Good thing is they do get things done here and visa application is painless except for the part where you actually have to interact with these people in person. I will avoid this place if I have a choice. This is the only centre in Scotland and it is not like you have other choice. I do love my job and this country but the attitude of the immigration office is a disgrace.
