Fantastic college. The teachers are great and all very supportive (unlike secondary school) and the support staff are friendly, chatty and always willing to help. The campus is lovely with tons of green and open space and the facilities available are excellent too. Only downside is that management of the college can be unorganised at times and thus email communication can often be confusing and/or unclear.

Studied here in 80's and was pleasantly surprised that it has not changed too much. I visited with my husband and son this Saturday and we were able to take a look around the grounds. The second image shows my old dormitory

Level 1 dog grooming... What a fantastic learning experience I have had. Gail has been brilliant, patient, and given me the confidence boost I needed. It helped with Gail being so approachable, you never felt ridiculous, you could ask her anything regarding grooming and she would give you the best advice she physically could.
Rachel the assistant again, absolutely fabulous so knowledgeable and friendly.
I can't thank them enough. I will definitely be returning for level 2 and cannot wait to continue the journey with them both.

I would like to recommend the new team at the dog grooming parlour at Merrist Wood College. Gail and her students always do a fantastic job on our dogs who come out looking and smelling fantastic. The quality of the groom and the experience you get feels like a well run grooming parlour, you wouldn't believe it's actually a grooming school!

I never groomed a dog before starting my level 1... and now I’m finishing my level 2! I loved both courses. I learnt so much... and I’m still learning! Thank you Gail and Victoria, our lovely tutors.
I strongly recommend the dog grooming course to all dog lovers looking for a new challenge and new skill to learn.

My experience here doing a course was brilliant so much fun , experience with any situation was just horrible... tutor a never dealt with things correctly, the college over all discriminates the students and there career opportunities. They pick sides in situations which should not be allowed .

As a student there for the first months leading up to Christmas term everything was going great . Once I came back from Christmas break I had quite a lot of issues involving a student from another course , all of the students from my own course turned against me and I had issues with a member of staff I was with all this made me not want to be in my classes or at that part of the college so I would work in the library at the top of the college with my tutors knowing , between January and June my attendance went from being perfect 100% down to 60%ish even though I had informed my tutors and directors nothing was delt with at all . This year they are refusing to accept me back due to my "behaviour and my attendance " I feel completely discriminated by the college that due to them not helping me and students not making me want to attend I am being punished and pushed away from my education. It is the only college I can attend where I can do the course I would like to do and I am now not allowed because of other students. I am contesting as they do not work with their "policies "

so theres some very conflicting reviews on here which makes it even harder for me to decide, I want to hear from someone who has been and passed there course and is now in full time employment not from the college as they will only tell me what they want me to hear but id like to hear from a real student so im looking to become a gardner/landscaper is this college a good place to start?

Really bad college, some of the staff are very rude, food makes you ill. Would not recommend this collage, try Bicton or Sparsholt instead which are better than this!

Extremely unorganised, teachers can't manage the workload evenly, many wasted days where students aren't required to be there but still they make them come in.
