I've been to many Nuffield gyms while travelling in the UK including many in the City of London. The Guildford Nuffield is by far the best of them all both in terms of equipment after the refurb, but more importantly it's exceptional staff and a real sense of community. Couldn't recommend this place high enough.

All the staff are very friendly. Not so busy but I do go at a round 9 to 11am so not peak times. Love the pool and spa too. Always a treat after a gym session. Plenty of classes available to choose from too. The app is great for booking and cancelling classes.

Just could not by a coffee it the coffee shop, because I am not a member. I wear a mask, but ladies on reception- not. People going crazy. Take care everyone think smart.

Asked the guy for another trial of the gym as I havebt quite made my mind up on the ones in the area I was looking for. Being a previous member didn't think they would mind (the gym has changed loads since I was a member) anyway he simply said no. When I asked whether we could just pay the 15£ pay as you use service and he said no again quite rudely. Helped us make the decision to go with DAVID LLOYD now, long hair and pony tail needs some customer service training........

Clean, well equipped modern gym. Nice pool area with excellent sauna. Spacious changing areas with good showers and steam rooms. Friendly staff, plenty of free parking.

Yesterday I attended Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing Gym Guildford for the first time. It's pretty hidden away but well worth a visit if you have a Multi-Club Access pass and are in the area or are looking for a local gym on the outskirts of Guildford. Immediately I was greeted by friendly reception staff, who explained the specifics of this gym. They have unique cards to access the lockers so you'll need to pick up one from reception. Annoyingly they require a pound for a towel so either bring a towel or change. The pool area was well appointed with a decent sized pool, good showers a spa area sauna and steam room. All were great and notably better than my normal club. An additional annoyance though was the main clock being an hour out, and whilst a little point it did get me second guessing myself so that needs addressing. The main male locker room showers were in good condition but not particularly clean possibly caused by the flat rather than racked flooring so everything seemed to pool in the middle. The cafe afterwards was very nice and the staff were friendly the chef made a real effort on the food and it was appreciated.

Facilities are great. But few people repeatedly entering specially the Jacuzzi without having a shower. There are notices to say to have a shower before eating the pool, but nowhere it says to shower before entering the Jacuzzi. I have complained to the reception and duty manager but have not noticed any change. Water quality in the Jacuzzi has to be poor because of this.

Ok gym that's got all the right gear.
Pool is nice but infrequently is closed.
As stated showers and changing areas could do with better housekeeping. ????
Over priced just because it's in a so called affluent area.
Cost doesn't reflect standards or facilities
Plus side it's never too busy but could do with more room.
An average gym really originally a virgin fit place but has had some modernisation and upgrades.
Classes always full so that's a bummer.
Staff are helpful and friendly and do give quality advice so that side of it is fine.
If you want a casual workout and a spa etc it's not bad but it's a little pricey for what it is.
Would I recommend. .....yeah it's basic but suits. ????

Kicked off squat rack by PT half way through my set because he had a client. When I said I was half way through my set he said 'I know but he pays' which is a bit of a kick in the teeth when I pay £756 a year for this gym.

This is a great gym - taken in from Virgin Active by the look and feel of it. Opening times are a plus and the gym floor is well thought out and doesn't get crowded. Showers could be cleaner though... All in all a good value for money gym.

This is not my local gym but I use this branch as its on the way to work. The changing rooms and showers are always clean and this is also try of the workout area. They have a large number of cardio machines but free weights area is a little small for my liking. Lockers require a padlock and unfortunately they don't provide towels here. Apart from this staff are always friendly and helpful.

5* for when everything is working as it should be but this gym does like to have something else broken every time we come here... whether it's the showers, cables, lockers, spa pool jets... it's a shame but they're USUALLLY quick to solve the problem... (the powerful spa pool jet took over 4 months though.. not good.

This club is not disability friendly.
1. There is no unisex changing and shower facility for the pool/spa so my husband can’t help me change on a bad day when the pool would really help me.
2. 1 disability shower that has the seat (which is never washed) in the wrong place to use correctly.
3. Dispite having shallow steps going into the pool for easy access, there is only a hand rail on 1 side. Same is the spa.
Hygiene has really gone down hill.
More than once i was having a shower using the shower where all the water drains into and the drain has been clogged with hair.
The floors on in the showers feel slimy and gitty.
Daily i am finding plasters and other debris in the pool water, and even worse I am finding floating pools of snot.
I have reported all these issues to staff and management and they have not acted on it.

One of the best nuffield gyms in the south east. Big spacious cardio, resistance machines and free weights area with side studios that are also impressively large. Kit generally in good working order (and clean)
Pool is the usual but the spa is something else. Have oftern popped in on an off day just for a spa and steam/sauna

This Nuffield is quiet and has great facilities, especially the wet areas. The pool is pleasant and the Sauna and Steam are both of a good standard. The hydrotherapy pool is top notch. Much more spacious than Kingston and actually has effective massage jets. The gym is a bit small but just about everything you would want (except curved treadmill) free weights and stretching areas were spacious. The centre itself is slighty small but the facilities are of a great standard.
Small complaints : The pressure and temperature of the men's showers are very poor. Luke warm and piddly. This is only disappointment and one would expect this as a minimum of a health club. Also mens changing rooms are very cold after luke warm shower.

Fantastic facilties. Quiet at all times, which is great knowing you pay a little more, but you get to use the equipment you want. Also nice to have access to the full facility, so i can use the gym and spa with no restriction. Club also has great social events such as monthly Quiz nights and often plays sports events on the cafe tv's. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
The prices reflect perfectly what the club has to offer, including over 70 classes a week for Free.

I love the modern plan and the easy access to any information needed!
A more expensive gym, but well worth it as I have been to other gyms before and been looked down upon for not having the 'right physique'

With the renovation and addition of new spinning bikes, Nuffield has improved on their gym. Fees are quite high, though it caters to the area, which can probably afford it. The pool can close frequently but members are notified.
