I was very happy after receiving an eye test at Leightons recently. There was very adequate protection from Covid and on arrival, the staff were all welcoming, polite and friendly. The optometrist, Julia Bubb, checked that all my notes were correct and updated or changed them, as necessary, before starting the test. There are some complications with my eyes but I felt Ms Bubb tried to understand them as it was the first time we had met. It was also good, after the eye test, in which there was no significant change, that I wasn't pressurised into buying new glasses as can be the case in some opticians. I would certainly recommend Leightons in Haslemere.

My new glasses when they arrived needed adjustment which Lynda organised for me. The glasses have been great since. I have had lots of comments about the orange frames I chose, it has been lovely to have something a little different.

Recently had to have eyes tested and obtain spectacles. Approach and service at Leightons excellent, made everything easy, explained everything really well. So far so good with the varifocals.

An excellent optician, nothing is too much trouble to make sure you have the very best vision possible with glasses and contact lenses, they really go the extra mile. They also have all the equipment to make sure that your eyes are as healthy as they can be.
Also very competitively priced.

My eye test was a standard service. When trying to choose frames I was immediately shown the most expensive options. When I stated that I was looking for something more reasonably priced, bearing in mind they were only reading glasses. The dispensing optician extremely condescending. I was told every pair suited me, even when they clearly didn't! I was eventually shown a selection of reasonably priced frames, which were hidden away in a draw and consisted of three pairs! I have been visiting Leightons opticians since I was a child, sadly for me it no longer has the good reputation it once had, perhaps it's time to try the opticians in the other end of town.
Update to my earlier post.
My glasses had broken, so I enquired about repairing them. I felt Leighton's price was expensive, so enquired elsewhere. I got my glasses repaired at another local opticians for a fraction of the cost.

Their opticians are thorough in their examinations and again pay particular attention to detail, listening and acting to all your concerns. I would like to say a big thank you to Janie Jackson for her patience and expertise. I recently brought my 12 year old daughter into the practice In Haslemere for a routine check up and it transpired that her prescription had deteriorated. Janie told us about myopia control contact lenses that can help to slow down deterioration of vision in children.
We made an appointment to see how my daughter got on with inserting the lenses. Janie was very patient and had a very relaxed child friendly approach. Despite her efforts my daughter was unable to insert them herself, but we will be returning for another trial soon.
In the meantime my daughter is very happy with her new glasses
I just want to thank Janie and Lynda for making the whole experience
not only professional but friendly and enjoyable.
We will be recommending Leightons Haslemere to all our friends and family.

I feel that I have been conned into writing a review for Google Maps following a request, purportedly from from Leightons, for a review on the quality of their service.
Sorry, that's not being fair. At no point was I made aware of this subterfuge until I received a thank you mail from Google.

My compliments to the staff at the Haslemere for their customer service. It is a shame that their service was let down by the factory who took 4 weeks to get my spectacles correct.
Local Manager rescued the situation.

Jo spotted my conjunctival cyst during my 2016 check up. Subsequent appointments at The Royal Surrey left me somewhat confused and worried about my eyesight. After 30 minutes with her at my 2017 appointment everything was explained clearly and my worries disappeared. Thank you!
