Halfords has always been a good store for automotive and cycle products. The slough store has an excellent range of car accessories and supplies, the store is always clean and staff are helpful. On a Sunday afternoon I was finishing a water pump replacement on a Golf R and did not have enough coolant, a quick trip to Halfords and they had suitable coolant.

I visited the store and I was seen really quickly. Two members of staff were so helpful and kept me informed about my bike, maintenance and care. They took the time to give me a demonstration on how best to secure my bike, explaining it well and in detail. I was in and out quickly.

Came in store to help me find a bicycle and found Jordan to be extremely helpful. He was very informative and has alot of patience and product knowledge. He was happy to allow to me test the bikes, as well as answer any questions. Very professional and friendly. Great customer service skills and he even allowed me to test ride 2 of the bikes. Great range of products and knowledgable staff but experience would have merited 5 stars if they were more proactive in approaching customers for assistance.
Also wait time to procure and pay are excessive. Only one payment kiosk open which was handling returns whilst a long line of customers waiting to pay and leave. More awareness to deal with customers in a timely manner will really enhance customer experience.

When I went to the store to order my bike the staff member was knowledgeable and helpful, unfortunately that was as good as it got. Upon collecting my bike I noticed there were chips and scratches on the new bike, i was offered 10% discount (which I took as this was the last bike they had in stock nation wide, for this model).
When on my 1st ride and within minutes the pedal came flying off, whilst on a busy road. I was lucky that I wasn’t hit by a car, just scrapes on my arm and leg. I will be taking the bike back promptly and logging a formal complaint.
Be warned that the bike was assembled by a member of staff named Lee (I was told he’s the manager).

What a great team at the Slough, Bath Road branch of Halfords. I had to jump start my van to get to the branch and even though the Halfords Customer Service team had messed up the booking both Chloe and George went above and beyond their roles to ensure that everything was sorted out for me. They fitted a new battery solved the problems with the booking and even stayed after hours to help me out. Thank you x

Awful customer experience. I bought a car battery from Halfords a few years ago. This battery failed last year and was replaced. Then I had problems with my car again. Surely not the battery again? So I hired an electrician to check my car and he concluded that it was indeed the battery. He informed me that Halfords supply inferior parts and fitted a good battery from Boschh. My car now runs perfectly. It cost me a £72 service charge to discover it was Halford's battery that was the problem. I took my second faulty battery back to Halfords and explained the situation. At first I was told it was not faulty. Then a manager corrected his sales assistant. I requested a refund - what good was another Halfords battery to me? - but was told they could only exchange it. Even better, they didn't have it in store and sent me down the road to Maidenhead to collect it myself, wasting more of my time. Substandard parts and service.

As a professional within the car industry I normally kind of avoid Halfords, regarding them as expensive aftermarket pars retailers. This time tough I was surprised as Halfords being the cheapest and offering the longest warranty on car batteries.
Due to pandemic situation online ordering was the best option, with all (choice, ordering and pickup) very easy to follow and with loads of support from the store.
Brilliant service in these hard days.

I went there for a side light bulb the staff ( the store manager I think?) Was very helpful and in fact saved me a couple of pounds by recommending a different product which is allegedly better.
No problems with the covid restrictions but they had only just opened for trading so the was only one other customer in there.

Very poor service,went in 20 minutes ago and as expected was very quiet but still had to wait 10 minutes at the tills while one person was chatting to his mates and the other tried to make himself look busy.
After waiting for 5 minutes I enquired if we were going to get served as there were another 2 customer's waiting behind me and all I got was ignored,after another 5 minutes I enquired again having to raise my voice.
The one talking to his friends asked his colleague to serve us only to be clearly told I'm busy you serve them,then the first person told his friends to wait while he served us.
So much for the customer comes first,management need to retrain their staff.

Perfect example of how physical shops and personal service trump online shopping.
We've been mad busy and needed to get the next size up car seat for my toddler.
We were in a mad rush and went in to get a Halfords own brand seat with children getting restless in the car. I rushed inside and when I got there I had no idea which seat to get so I went to the till and asked for assistance. I was guided back to the car seat section and just as I got there a staff member called Katie came swiftly out of the rear storage area and asked if I needed help with children's car seats.
She then explained all the differences in a very impartial manner and I made the choice to buy an ISOFIX baby seat.
She showed me through the range and then I saw an ex-display model which looked extremely good value. I decided to go ahead with that seat and soon we were at the checkout.
The whole process was swift and courteous after which she asked if I needed the car seat fitting.
She met me at the car, fitted the seat and showed me how it worked etc. We finished off the necessary paperwork and off we went.
An extremely stressful situation turned into a pleasant old school retail experience.
Well done, Halford's Slough.

Do not buy the trolly jacks . I purchased 2 back in march , one broke the same week and the second failed 3 months later , when i took them back i was told " your not supposed to use them everyday " .

The manager Lee i think his name was, was very helpful today. I had a problem with my jump start machine for my car, the lead had come off the clip. I asked if halfords could send away for the product be fixed. He fixed it for me, there and then.. a good turn of events for me and ever so greatful. It worked just fine.
