This is such a wonderful life-changing course. Challenging and hard work but incredibly rewarding. Catherine and Tanya and the other the great tutors have given me so much confidence with their depth of knowledge and experience. The way the course is structured works really well and it has been working just as well now it has had to move online to Zoom. The fact that the course takes 18 months gives time to digest all the learning and properly research the home study elements. I chose the course more to develop my own practice and learn more about yoga and was not convinced I would or could end up teaching. I feel very lucky to have found this course – and to my surprise – I am now teaching.

I came to IYTT after extensive researching. Training to be a yoga teacher is a big investment, financially and time-wise, so I wanted to get it right. I like that I was vetted for the course; I like that I had to put a strong application in, and I like that one of the teachers on the course was already familiar to me (and I think he's brilliant: Peter Blackaby). Despite lockdown and not being able to meet face to face, I am loving the course. Zoom has been handled masterfully by course leaders Catherine and Tanya, and has actually enabled the students to listen to each other more perhaps. The course content is superb: interesting, varied and challenging, with proper homework. I can't actually think of anything that I would modify at all: the admin has been brilliantly organised, we have a WhatsApp group that is such a lifeline, and the dynamics between the students themselves, and between students and tutors is really warm and collaborative.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my training at IYTT. After many years of thinking my body wasn’t “good enough or flexible enough to be a Yoga teacher”, this training has deleted all those thoughts and given me the confidence to help myself and others investigate, explore, play and have fun with yoga practice. The whole faculty have a wealth of many years of different experience. They teach in a safe and interesting way that encompasses the latest scientific research in fascia and anatomy plus using other modern movement and creative influences. The individual body types and needs are respected and personal reflection and practice is highly encouraged in all areas. If you are looking for a course that is flexible, supportive and prepares you for teaching anyone of any age and ability who wants to enjoy yoga to explore movement in a functional and fun way then this is the course for you! The IYTT is also a course for those who may not want to teach others yet want to go deeper in their own personal practice. Highly recommended!

When I thought I would have to give up on the idea of teaching, after an injury occurred soon after my previous teacher training, the IYTT team proved to me, that doesn’t have to be the case. This course won't show you how to teach a fixed class, but it will teach you how to safely investigate movement of the body, in a more exploratory and embodied way, allowing you to go on, and share that, with your future students. The support and guidance they provide over 18 months is both admirable and immense. They have a phenomenal passion to teach, and an incredible bank of knowledge. I’ve had the greatest pleasure watching them nurture and empower the most fearful of students, including myself. Even through these strange times in lockdown and with self distancing, they are continuing to support remotely, and are still able to create a sense of community.

How lucky am I to have found IYTT! This training has been immensely holistic and nurturing, it has opened me up for safe personal enquiry while also building up confidence to prepare us all to start teaching. I have a deep respect for all the the teachers, they are inquisitive, knowledgeable and open minded.

I can't recommend this training enough. The teachers are extremely generous with their knowledge and very supportive. They really encourage us to celebrate our individuality and creativity as yoga teachers (within a safe framework grouned in the latest anatomy research) and are not interested in churning out 'robotic' yoga teachers who teach by rote or teach set sequences. The students I have started to teach have responded really positively to this approach.

Catherine is an inspiring teacher with an immensely deep understanding of the inner workings of the body. As a recent yoga teacher trainee with Catherine, I am so thankful to have had such an experienced and knowledgeable teacher. Catherine both guides her students and shares her knowledge while encouraging self-exploration and discovery. By doing so, I feel I have gained a deeper awareness of my own body and better understanding of how beautifully connected the body is. I cannot thank Catherine enough for her continuous support and encouragement and for teaching me an invaluable lesson, to respect my body by being present and listening to my body's needs. Anyone wanting an intelligent approach to yoga, this is definitely the course for you!!! You will gain a solid foundation whilst learning to inquire and observe, so that your teaching comes from an informed place. I regularly attend Tanya's classes and can honestly say, together with Catherine, their passion and knowledge for yoga is truly an inspiration. If you're looking for a non-dogmatic approach, in a friendly environment that is supportive, nurturing and non judgemental.....then join Catherine and Tanya for a life changing experience!

Catherine is an inspirational, experienced teacher. Throughout my two year teacher training with her I have felt encouraged, motivated and amazed by the depth of her knowledge, teaching and ability to read the body. Catherine has allowed me to build a better awareness and connection in my own body and practice, given me the tools, knowledge and confidence to go out and teach and been supportive throughout. I have also had the pleasure of attending Tanya’s classes and she is also an inspiring, engaging teacher. Both Catherine and Tanya are a lovely energy to be around and I couldn’t recommend them more!

I am a very experienced yoga practitioner but in just one 'one to one' session today, Catherine gave me some very valuable and practical tips and insights to enhance my practice. I learnt a lot in one hour. Catherine has a lovely manner and strikes the right balance between encouragement and instruction. Highly recommended for anyone from beginner to old yogi like me.

I have been practising with Catherine for years now, in both classes and on retreats. She made me fall in love with yoga again and find a freedom in the body that I had not experienced before. Being an ex-dancer, I love how she really takes you on a journey of discovery your own body, without getting attached to the outcome or shape. Whenever I practise with Catherine I feel joy and gratitude for this body, and its capacity to move. She is an intelligent teacher that will encourage you to trust and discover your physicality and she does is with so much love and grace. Catherine's practise will make you feel relaxed, connected and at the same time the body feels worked on a very deep level.

Catherine’s mindful approach to yoga, combined with intricate and delicate breathwork is something I hadn’t experienced in yoga classes prior. Catherine’s work is inspiring and meticulous and has changed my view of the practice for the better. I have recently done her teacher training and looking back can definitely see the extremely well put together design and structure of the course, making this the best decision especially in terms of teachers. Catherine and Tanya are both highly experienced- their energy is what definitely makes this the best teacher training. They are both so friendly, extremely helpful and kind, which makes one feel immediately comfortable and at home! I could not recommend this course enough!

Catherine is an inspiring and creative teacher with a wealth of knowledge and experience. She teaches with care and humour and guides her students to a deeper understanding of their bodies and themselves. Likewise, Tanya is also a creative teacher with great presence and warmth. Her classes are always deeply engaging and you leave with at least a nugget of some knew wisdom about the body. I highly recommend them both.

Having trained with Catherine myself, and practised with Tanya, I could not recommend this training highly enough. While training with Catherine she inspired me to carefully observe, feel and consider what I was asking my body to do and in turn my students’, giving me the tools to teach intelligently and from an informed place. Both Catherine and Tanya are professional and insightful teachers with shared passion for anatomically intelligent practice and wealth of experience.

I have been practising with Catherine and Tanya for many years, attending Catherine's retreats as well as their regular classes. This style of teaching moves away from a preoccupation with postures as the end point, and instead encourages a deep enquiry into the body and it's own particular needs and responses. Practising with them in this way has completely transformed my practice: I experience my body more deeply, have access to more subtle sensation, and am able to be more creative and curious about how I approach my practice. Their approach asks that you throw away dogma and preconceived notions of what yoga should look like, and instead focuses on what you might learn from attending to the process of practice. I would recommend this training to anyone who wants to move their yoga and movement towards more subtlety, gentleness, and creativity; and to those who wish to teach their students to live in a more deeply embodied way.

Catherine is an immensely engaging, supportive and creative teacher trainer. Over the course of my teacher training with her I’ve developed a great respect and trust in her approach to all things yoga, particularly her in depth knowledge of anatomy applied to asana. Having practiced as a student with many of the excellent teachers who make up the faculty I’m sure this training will be a unique and wonderful opportunity.

I'm so incredibly pleased that I had the sense to indulge myself in IYTT.  As far as I was concerned, it was going to be the Rolls Royce of trainings and eventually I allowed myself to believe I deserved it. Being good enough is a hurdle for many of us! Everything about the IYTT course makes me smile and feel very privileged.  I have direction and purpose again and reason to direct my energies towards an area of my life where I can make a difference. I have gained so much insight in the last 6 months. The contentment on the faces of my two small classes show you've given me skills to share how to take intelligent enquiry of ourselves to the mat. Maybe some of these musings will re-enforce for you what a brilliant job you're doing, Catherine, Tanya and the rest of the impressive team.

The teaching force on this training are a force to be reckoned with. As a male student approaching the subtleties of scaravelli inspired intelligent yoga, I really resonated with the down to earth and direct training of both catherine and Tanya, as for Gary Carter his anatomy training was the cherry on the cake (life changing teaching)

I came to Catherine from a vinyasa background, & it continues to be my main practice; I found Catherine’s approach invaluable in developing my relationship with my body & how I approach my students in class. She encouraged me to breakdown what I was asking students (&myself) to do in a pose, with a strong anatomical & alignment focus, thinking about the fundamental ways we move. This has given me a foundation for life with which I can now build my teaching on & utilise in a range of yoga styles & classes -both in my own practice & in my teaching. I couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Studying to become a teacher with Catherine over the past 2 years has been a great experience & a true journey of mindful enquiry & exploration of asanas, anatomy and so much more. I really feel like I have the foundations laid to now kick off being a yoga teacher. I would definitely recommend this teacher training to anybody.

Three months in and loving the first IYTT! Even better, I’ve just been to my long-time osteopath, who says the last several months of Scaravelli has completely changed my spine (although there’s still plenty of room for improvement). He asked if I can teach him when I feel ready. He’s even stiffer than I am, so is excited by the idea of a yoga teacher who relates to his struggle. This is yoga for everyone, not just the young, bendy and trendy - although we are all supercool, of course!

To be on Catherine and Tanya’s Intelligent Yoga Teacher Training will stand any student in the best stead for teaching safely, effectively, with creativity, curiosity, grace and intelligence. I loved Catherine’s and Tanya’s teaching from the moment I stepped into their classes and later on, as a student on their teacher training at triyoga. Their passion, seriousness, non-judgement, flexibility, ability to provide clarity on complex body systems and movement, their knowledge base which is as deep as it is wide, sensitivity and awareness of all aspects of body work and yoga makes them two of the strongest, most caring spirits to learn from. Gary Carter and Peter Blackaby are at the forefront of the yoga world and together, the four of them make an unrivalled team. There are an overwhelming number of trainings out there, all offering different things. If you want one that gives the most sound foundation for teaching, that develops and nurtures you, that allows you to become deeply engaged and connected to yoga and your own practice and that sets you up to teach confidentially with awareness of yoga’s therapeutic elements then this is likely to be the course for you. I am envious of anyone embarking on this journey with them; it will be wholly unique, wholly safe and containing, wholly inspiring and mind-expanding too. If I had not already completed my teacher training with them as my guides this is the one I would be going for.

Detailed and advanced yoga teachings with focus on alignment. This may open your eyes if you come from an Ashtanga or Iyengar background. The anatomical part is especially refreshing.

Both Catherine and Tanya teach from a place of true anatomical awareness of body . They allow you the space to move with attention and intention making you more aware of who you are and how you move . This teacher training will be an amazing journey to discover how to pay more attention to how you move and who you are which then can be useful not just on the yoga mat but in everyday life too .
