One of the best places for cheese. There is a wide selection and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The cheese aromas may be overwhelming but worth it.

Cheddar curds! Visit this shop now! Seemingly the only place in London that sells 'squeaky' hard cheese curds perfect for poutine. Bigger than their sister store in near Covent Garden this dairy has every kind of cheese you need plus some extra. The staff are really knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I'm heading back real soon!

One of my first exposures to London's cheese scene, Neal's Yard Dairy is an amazing experience beyond what you would see in NYC when you check out Murray's or Fairways Cheese shop. You are faced with such a wide array of chesse you have little knowledge of what to do. The staff is usually quite helpful and worth the time to chat with -- if the line is not too long.

I visit this place often. But it is the first time I have an unfriendly female employee. The very nervous female employee made me not want to come back here. Your cheese shop image has been broken by one of her female employees.

Neal’s Yard Dairy was founded in Covent Garden in 1979 by Randolph Hodgson and was one of the first retailers to set up in the empty warehouse spaces around Borough Market in the 1990s. It continues to offer a truly stunning array of cheeses sourced from around 70 specialist cheesemakers all over the UK and Ireland. Many of the cheeses are aged in Neal’s Yard Dairy’s own maturing rooms under the brick railway arches of Bermondsey, where they are carefully turned, brushed and washed until they ripen. Friendly staff and free samples of cheeses.

Attentive staff will let you sample some of the finest cheeses on offer from the British Isles. The fruit pate is absolutely an accompaniment that you may have not considered, but now may not be able to live without - just do it!

Be prepared to spend money in here. You'll get lots of free tasters of the most delicious cheese, but if you're on a budget don't taste them - you have to buy!

Worth a trip for the samples alone. They'll vacuum pack your purchases if you tell them you're travelling overseas.

I like this place a lot. For starters it's seconds from London Bridge station, where I have the misfortune of commuting to weekly. It's an almost entirely British fromagier, the only European cheese I saw was Parmesan, and many varieties and ages of it. I lean towards calling the Britishness a specialisation rather than a limitation, because they truly excel in finding exceptional British cheeses. It's also clear that the shop are keen to promote traditional cheese making, for example preferring Stichelton to 'typical' Stilton - Stichelton is the old recipe for Stilton, which uses unpasteurised milk. Also traditional animal rennet is preferred. I would say this is a matter of preference, but it is generally considered that animal rennet produces superior results. The service is top notch, they're extremely knowledgeable and very generous with their samples. Shopping here is an extremely pleasant experience. Is it expensive? Yeah, compared to Waitrose or any of the plethora of stalls in the adjacent borough market, it is expensive, but you get so much more at Neals Yard. Overall, 9/10. Only 4 stars though, I round towards 3.

Neal's Yard Dairy sell a wide range of quality cheeses and has some very fine products with notable highlights being their oat crepes and creme fraiche which is a dream in a salmon bagel. The cheeses are very expensive compared to Selfridges which has an excellent cheese shop that is even better for the variety of selection across Europe.

They seem to be selling more and more cheese with traditional animal rennet, which I find rather disappointing, and a step in the wrong direction. Also something about the place feels a bit pretentious, if I'm honest.

Cheese aficionados must visit. Even if you don't buy anything (get a taster though), still go in and just look at the huge rolls of cheese.

Heaven in cheese form. It's a good job I now live hundreds of miles away, otherwise I'd be morbidly obese with regular dairy overdoses.
