David Austen Optometrists

When my husband went for his appointment I mentioned a problem with my eye which was checked straight the way by the optician and was told I needed it to be checked at hospital which was arranged by the receptionist. I was told this quick reaction saved my eyesight and I cannot praise the staff of David Austen enough. They are always very caring and helpful, nothing too much trouble for them and would recommend their services. A big thank you from Mary and Joe Mckenzie.

I have been a patient of this practice for over 40 years firstly with the late David Austen and currently his son Matthew. The treatment I have received during this period has been exemplary. The care of my eye health has been undertaken with a thoroughness and level of competence which is second to none. All the staff in the practice go out of their way to make me feel a valued customer and when I have been in an emergency situation or just concerned over an issue with my eyes their response is immediate and reassuring until the issue is resolved. I have no hesitation in recommending this practice as outstanding for anyone who really cares about looking after the long-term health of their eyes.

Prohibitively expensive. No outside prescriptions so if you want any glasses you’re already paying £59 for their ‘basic’ eye test on top of expensive frames and lenses. Not sure how a place like this still exists. Try elsewhere and buy the same frames for half the price.

The only professionals who offer overnight vision correction (well worth trying) in the area.
