Helen is the most wonderful teacher. She really gives you confidence to have a go at creating art. She gives brilliant tips and is very encouraging perfect for someone like me who doesn’t think that they are very good. She has a wonderful range of classes and courses. You always feel very supported and can do classes at your own pace in your own time. Perfect for a busy mum! I will definitely attending more in the future.

Helen is a fantastic teacher with vast amounts of experience and knowledge. She makes learning how to paint and draw a thoroughly enjoyable experience, whether you are an absolute novice, or using the lessons to expand on your existing talents.
Helen leads you through a journey where each lesson progresses you to the next level, both with ease and with a thirst for more. You almost feel as though you are cheating art by producing such wonderful pieces in such an uncomplicated fashion in such a short space of time.
I would highly recommend Helen and Create! Art School to absolutely anyone, even those who cannot paint, as you won't be disappointed.

Helen is a wonderfully calm, friendly and knowledgeable teacher. I really enjoy her style, which is a combination of teaching valuable techniques with humour and without being too rigid or directional! I also like the balance between live classes and video recordings that you can access in your own time. And once you sign up to become a member of Create!, there are lots of lovely little free tutorials you can access too. Definitely the best art teacher that I have come across so far - would highly recommend!

Had a wonderful free class yesterday (13 January 2021). It was on how to use watercolour pencils properly. The class was only half an hour and was slow and informative. Helen has a great way about her and explains things in a way that makes you feel you CAN do it rather than you cant. Will definitely be doing some more classes - free or otherwise.

Helen at Create Art School is a brilliant teacher whether in the studio, live online or via video courses. In all cases she teaches in a relaxed, friendly manner, step by step, so even complete beginners can follow, learn and produce a good drawing or painting. The video courses are a good way to try a style of drawing or painting out with minimal time or financial commitment. Creating with Helen is very relaxing, enjoyable and rewarding.

Helen is a calm and natural teacher with gentle encouragement that any line on a paper is good enough! Totally loved doing the paid Natural Forms drawing course over New Year and have just had an hour with the new free ink and watercolour course. Short opportunities to just focus and switch off and longer online in-depth courses are fabulous. Totally recommend. Thank you.

I really enjoyed Helens abstract water colour course this week. Helen makes you feel that anything you do is ok, there is no right or wrong particularly with abstract. Really good fun course and I would definitely recommend Create! Art school

I have never been disappointed in any of Helen's courses at Create! Art School ...... and I have certainly done a few this week! From chalk drawing in the style of Mary Cassatt to creating gorgeous, colourful pumpkins based on Yayoi Kusama. I have learnt how to draw a Scribbly Apple and produced my first abstract watercolour. Multi-tasking ... yes ..... and that was one of Helen's 5 challenges for May! (Plus Me, Miracle, Milkshake and Mask) Helen is a great teacher who welcomes people of all abilities and diverse interests. I have learnt so much in the 6 months I have been a member of Create! Art, in a fun, friendly and supportive atmosphere.

I took part in a live online 5-week watercolour course, and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge! Helen is a fantastic artist and teacher - the lessons were well structured, with extra resources provided for guidance and inspiration. Give it a go if you fancy trying something new while stuck at home!

Until a few years ago, I went through life thinking I couldn't "do" art. I loved looking at art, but creating it wasn't for me.
I've now been doing classes with Helen at Create for about 3 years - drawing, watercolours, a perspective masterclass - at first in her lovely studio, and then, with lockdown, online. As well as enjoying weekly drawing classes, I now have the confidence to try all sorts of art; I take drawing equipment out and about with me and sketch, and have some of my artwork proudly framed on my walls!

I recently undertook a virtual wreath-making masterclass here for a work social event and it was fabulous...boxes were made with everything we needed in to make the wreaths and the virtual tutorial was brilliant...very clear, easy to follow and the wreaths look fantastic! Would highly recommend!

I had not engaged in any art work since school over 50 years ago. I found Helen's on line courses were a great way to I started Helen's drawing and painting classes a few months ago having not done anything arty since school! And I am now well over retirement age. All I can say is that Gelen is a brilliant teacher, always well prepared, cheerful, patient and encouraging. So much so that I have been amazed at what I have achieved in her classes and in between. I have created my own art wall at home so I can enjoy my own work! She manages to pitch her classes so beginners and experienced artists can develop their skills.

Helen is the most wonderful teacher. I’ve gone from being someone who thought any kind of art was unattainable for me, to being someone who takes a sketchbook on holiday and who produces work I’m really proud of. Helen makes it all feel possible and do-able. She’s really relaxed in her teaching but still conveys technique and method, almost without you realising. I can’t recommend her classes highly enough.

A fantastic water colour course that we found during lockdown. As we’re not local to the art studio, it was great that the course could be done live online with the other participants. Tuition was clear, visual and easy to follow. Helen made the classes a lot of fun and we learnt something different each week about working with water colour. We created paintings in each session to add to my portfolio. Highly recommend.

Great Japanese painting session
Helen is a great teacher she is so calm and made me feel at ease through the whole session. She explained very clearly how to draw use ink and watercolour - and we all had a finished picture.

Helen is a very good teacher and is supportive and also good fun. I have only done online courses with her via Zoom but that works very well, you can watch her hand close up doing the actual drawing and painting. The sessions are recorded so you can re-watch parts or indeed all of it if you had to miss the live Zoom. I am re-booking another course to progress in watercolours but have also enjoyed a drawing class. Helen can advise on materials and source them if you need.

I have been attending Helen's Art Classes, both in her studio and online for almost 2 years. I have enjoyed every minute. She has taught me such a lot about drawing, using pencils, watercolour pencils, chalks, charcoal, inks and oil pastels. The classes are well prepared, with clear objectives and impressive results!
