One of the worse car hire spot and company very rude lady works there unprofessional try to over charge and when inspect the return car trying to put a fault so can charge excess please be careful.

Service i got was good, price was very good..but the variety of cars you book you dont exactly get ..example i thought I'd have a bmw sport instead they offer me a Mitsubishi Outlander ...oh come on you being for real:(...if only they had guaranteed make of vehicle on booking like some other car lenders I'd defo book from thrifty always.

Possibly the worst car hire experience ever. We called the Stratford centre and we were told that, if we needed a car for the coming Friday, we needed to book straight away. We did that but we received an email that our booking still needed to be confirmed. The email also required us to bring a ridiculous list of documents to hire a car including recent bills, which is VERY unusual. As we did not hear back, we called after 24 hours. We were told that no car was available for that day even though we had been told to book one the previous day. Apparently, you are also required to call to receive a confirmation for your online booking, which is even more unusual but mainly....it was not written ANYWHERE. No apologies were offered. Avoid.

Thrifty in the UK seems to generally have very poor ratings which made me pretty nervous, but ultimately I think the experience is down to the individual branch and its staff.
We had absolutely no problems - car was clean, the price was excellent, and we had no problems or unexpected charges when we returned the car. Staff were friendly and pretty efficient. Will definitely be using this branch again

The ultimate recommendation is that I will be using this place the next time I need a hire car without searching hard for anywhere else. By far the best price, a convenient location near to bus stops, Hackney Wick station and the canal, and helpful staff.
It was tricky for me to find the place approaching by bike from the canal, the site is on Remus Road - I have moved the pin and think it's clearer now.
The chap ahead of me was upset that he and his partner weren't getting a lift to the station (Stratford?) and said his review would reflect that, so bear in mind that you're paying for car hire and none of the premium "extras" that make other hire places more expensive.

I left some items in a car I returned. I called the next day to see if they were still present and the person who answered the phone went to check right away and kept my items safe in an envelope ready for me to collect. Brilliant service.

I will NOT be renting from here again! I booked online to collect the car at 1 o'clock the following day, I turned up at quarter past and I was waiting about 25 - 30 mins later because the car hadn't been washed. There was no apology or explanation, and no one in the office seemed to be in that much of a hurry. To top things off when I returned the car the following day I was told that £85 would have to come off my deposit as there was an inch long scratch on one of the alloys. I will hold my hands up if I believe something is my fault but I hadn't parked the car with that side against the curb at all during the 24 hours I had the car. Unfortunately, I hadn't noticed this scratch when I collected the car. Whether it was my fault or not £85 seems pretty steep. All in all it feels like the staff there are trying to trip you up and take you for as much money as possible. I've had much better experiences with other hire companies.

Very slow service, took about 45 minutes to collect the car even though there was no queue whatsoever. On returning the vehicle they spent 20 minutes scrutinising every millimetre of the car until they found something they could charge us for - a minute scratch on one of the alloys, which our photos didn't show in sufficient detail to disprove. Totally unreasonable. If you are going to hire from here then make sure you get excess insurance, preferable from another company

If you have any queries e.g cancellation policy etc.. be sure to call the main office and not the branch. I was informed by Shenade from the Stratford branch that if i cancel a reservation 48 hours before the actuall booking date, i will be entitled to a full refund. However, when i called the main office they confirmed that a refund is only given if a booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the booking being placed.

They stole money from my deposit without telling me. This was for a tiny scratch on the door that was previously there before I took the rental. At the time of drop off, they lied to me that the scratch was small enough to fall below the threshold anyway. Charged 50 GBP, of which 33 GBP is admin fees. Do not trust the people here.

Unfortunately I can only give 5 stars, if only I could give more. These guys were great at this branch especially the lad Tanveer!!! Very polite and professional. Only waiting a couple mins, the whole process from being inside the branch to me leaving with the car felt like a breeze. Tanveer is really good at what he does. I believe he could sell ice to eskimos. I will be speaking to him on my return to offer him a place in my company.
Sorry thrifty but this lad is too good for you. I’ll be making him an offer he can’t refuse!!!
