I was worried before starting the course that I wouldn’t get my money’s worth or I wouldn’t enjoy it. However none of my worries were confirmed and it was the completely opposite. I had a really good time, I learnt a lot on the tattooing course and I love how friendly it is there. Honestly such a good time would definitely recommend !!

This is a course I would recommend for anyone who is interested in taking up tattooing as a career . Sunny who was our main teacher was a really lovely/funny guy who always made me feel comfortable to ask any questions if I needed too .The way the classes were taught were spot on as I always felt engaged and enjoyed every lesson . The course helped me create a better understanding if tattooing is the right career for me , both Sunny and Alan were nice people who gave me helpful tips whenever I needed them . Overall I really enjoyed this course and had a great two weeks at the academy ????????????

I’ve just finished the course at the official tattoo academy, and I have to say I had an absolutely brilliant time. As well as learning an awful lot about the legislation behind tattooing (which will really help me when I’m wading through this to try to set up my own studio), you get an entire week of proper tattooing - first on fake skin, then on people - using state of the art equipment and expert guidance from the staff in the academy.
I started there as a complete n00b, but now I’m an inexperienced professional. It’s given me essentially a 2 year head start on a full time tattooing career.
Absolutely money well spent, and has made me really excited for my future.

I started the piercing course on the 22nd feb. Straight away i felt comfortable around Georgia and Sunny, both very down to earth easy going people. I felt comfortable enough in my ability on the practical side because I was well versed in everything i needed to be doing before hand, i also felt very at ease asking for help if i needed it. After having a bad experience with an apprenticeship I decided to do this course to see whether I still had the drive to pursue my career. The course taught me everything the studio hadn't, explained in comprehensive detail everything I needed to know and gave me a really amazing experience I can hold for the rest of my life! Every aspect of tattooing is covered, and whilst some areas are a bit rushed (Though, ayone trying to cover tattooing in two weeks would be rushed!) you get everything in an information booklet to read over. The course bought back the joy of tattooing, ensured I will always follow best practice and SAFE procedures (unlike in the studio I started in) and has given me a solid start to continue my career. I have loved my time here, cannot thank Sunny enough for all his hard work and hope to come back for the piercing course or just for a tattoo or two at the studio. I reccomend whether you're a complete newbie trying to get their foot in the door or an apprentice looking to further their training.

I can only say that dealing with Sunny on the piercing and tattooing course only further inspires me to follow this new career path. His passion for tattooing and piercing is infectious. The piercing course was a theory based first day going over legislation, safe practices and general usage of needles etc... the second day was dealing with a live studio environment on many clients coming to the studio throughout the day.
Sunny is professional, very knowledgable and a pleasure to be around. I can’t recommend the UK Official Tattoo Academy enough. Thanks for everything.....

The perfect place for a tattoo course, the teachers are very professional, I have a background in tattooing and I actually learned new stuff on a two weeks course which were packed with learning, fun, and experiment, I recommend it to anyone, from artists that want to be tattoo artist, and people that just don't know yet but want to try.

I attended the piercing course with Sunny the weekend and it was a fantastic weekend,not only was Sunny very witty and funny but was also very professional and gave us loads of information and tips when piercing, I went into the course feeling very nervous and anxious especially when it came to piercing the many volunteers that came into the studio but Sunny was always there for advice and support and he was in my opinion absolutely brilliant and made me feel and get over my nerves.Everyone on the course over the weekend helped and supported each other and made the whole experience 100% better.Thank you so much.

It was an amazing experience on the piercing course. It was a laid back environment with lots of laughs, Sunny the teacher is very friendly, professional and supportive.
The practical part of the course is nerve wrecking but i was given all the support nessisery to be able to compleate the piercing's on volenteer's, we as a group was given the chance to run the studio under the supervision of Sunny to get teh experience of what it woud be like to run a studio.

I attended the pearcing course and this was the best choice I have made. All aspects covered in a friendly amazing clean environment my instructor sunny was very good in all aspects of the pearcing procedures and also running a shop/business if anyone is thinking they want to do this course it will be the best decision you can make with the knowledge and experience you will get is second to none once again from start to finish you was treated amazingly cmade to feel comfortable, polite and some banter which was a good way to lean too as this made the course more friendly and active thankyou

Well where do I start...the whole experience was amazing! The staff were so welcoming and friendly even the students.Sunny (The Trainer) is an absolute BABE! He was So helpful,I would highly reccomend doing this course,you get a book full of EVERYTHING you need to no.Litrally.we had a full day of theory work then on the second day we were chucked in the deep end Peircing people and each other.it was amazing!! I paid for my piercing course last year and couldn't attend, didn't let the studio know as I wasn't able to. They allowed me to rebook for their next available date with no problems or questions asked.
I attended the course August this year, it was brilliant. Sabrina (the teacher) was very helpful, honest and easy to talk too. She answered all questions with no problems at all, we stayed late to ensure everything was thoroughly covered and we was all happy. Will definitely be attending the next course once it's up and running.

Completed the course. This isn't intended as a personal attack on any of the academy staff member but rather an honest review.
After reading all those stellar reviews and comprehensive curriculum I signed up for the training.
I realise that you cannot learn to tattoo in 10 days so I was hoping to get some basic knowledge and get myself a better chances to be accepted for an actual apprenticeship.
Here's why my rating is so poor:
1. According to the academy FAQ you will be able to open your own studio after finishing the course - not true, plus check with your local council regarding requirements.
2. Even thou the academy has experienced tattoo artists like the academy owner, our tutor was not a tattooist but rather a piercer who - himself admits - doesn't know how to draw.
3. Also according to the academy website you are allowed to use your own equipment - not true, I've invested almost £1000 in my setup, but had to work with old and worn academy gear instead.
5 of 8 power supplies had to be changed during the "practical exam" with multiple equipment failures during the practice sessions (faulty coils, foot switches not connecting, power supplies cutting out)
4. About drawing sessions - half of the day was spent talking about tutors personal life experiences and topics vaguely related to tattooing. The other half was spent drawing "tattoo designs" without any hints or feedback on how your design will actually translate to skin. Tutor not in the class for most of the time.
5. About tattooing practice sessions -
We had to literally scrape the stencil prep fluid bottle, to get our designs on to fake skin. Tutor seemed fine with what we have.
The most of feedback I received was "this is nice". Virtually no instruction or hints about your technique or how to improve it.
Also Tutor was spending most of the time outside the class.
6. After taking the VTQ level 2 exam Tutor couldn't help himself but point out that it normally costs £25 but the Academy paid for us as a good will gesture even thou it is listed as part of curriculum on the website and included in the price. At least I didn't found any information stating otherwise.
To summarise:
I did learn how to set up and brake down my station
I did get VTQ level 2 certificate - you can get it here for £25 "protrainings.uk"
Is the course worth the asked price? Judge for yourself.
