Worst experience ever! I went there to take the IELTS course and it was a scam. Firstly, I arrived to a house which was precarious; extremely dirty, full of mold (even inside the kettle and the shower). When I complained they asked me to delete the pictures and moved me to another house in which the owner has a lot of problems. The lady threw away my flat mate’s belongings without even bothering to let her know. During my stay in that house, three people moved to other houses because she was homophobic and very complicated to get along with. Finally, I moved to another house because a person got stabbed near my house -that by the way was near a prison- (EF tends to accommodate people in unsafe neighbourhoods). I have a lot of friends from EF and everyone complained about the neighbourhoods and the difference between what EF agents offer you and what you get. My IELTS course (for which I paid more than a normal course) was not for IELTS during the first 6 months that I was there. Actually, I only had IELTS classes for three months when I paid for a 9-month IELTS course. I hired a particular Professor after the course to pass the IELTS. When I first took an exam after finishing my course with EF, I noticed I wasn’t ready because they never have personalised classes such as speaking or writing which means that you’d never be prepared for taking the IELTS. In my first exam (after EF course) I had 6/10 but after my classes with a private Professor (after three months and which costs 300 dollars total) I got 8/10. My advice: don’t bother to waste your time and money because it is not worth it. Zero professionalism. Additionally, professors are not well paid and neither are families. A situation which is unbelievable considering the amount of money that each student pays.

The school is good, maybe it’s better if you choose the summer period because during the christmas holidays you will skip some lessons. The teachers are good, especially Danielle ❤️. Some of my friends are in the family, but sometimes I heard that the rooms are dirty or that there are rats (absurd). I recommend to choose the accommodation. Ability Tower is fine, but not the best by EF. An advice for the Italians that are coming, it’s better for you if you have a lot of money because the food sucks in UK (unfortunately), with a lot of money you can eat in the Italian restaurant. Maybe there is a problem with the test because the time is only 25 minutes, and if you are not used to read a lot you will find a lot of problem. Anyway good experience, amazing city and amazing fireworks during the New Year Eve. Enjoy!

First of all, this place isn’t really diverse. 85% European, 10% American, and 5% Asian. Most of the student still spoke their own language in the class, mostly spanish and french. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a great homestay host. I got almost the same food everyday and only got meat once a week. It didn’t worth the price that I have paid for.

I Have been in London Last years in an other school "EC London". Here the organisation is completely different, with a timetable who change everytime, different classroom... In my classroom 8 french people... And people under 25 mixed with over 25... Be careful when you choose a family because it's really dirty, and the location isn't not in London. When I booked in France, the agency said me "don't worry, you will have a Top location in London" it was a Liar... I have a good teacher, and the different learning are good, the school create different events for the studients and the team is cool always the smile.

A very good travel agency but if you want learn English go away! - Too many students by classroom. - beware to classes intensives you will paye more only to have the classes in E learning in front a computer. - the classroom not good isolated from noise and cold - if you have a least level the school don't care and you will stay in a class not adapt to you. The teachers are very good but their don't have the time for every student

Ef London is a truly amazing place. The staff is very caring and attentive and they were always keen on helping me on whatever I needed. I would like to also highlight the fact that I had a great teacher called Geoff whose classes were funny and interactive; something CRUCIAL when trying to learn. Travelling to London with EF was a whole new experience that I will never forget, and I encourage you all to live it as well????????✨ (p.s: if you ever want to know some more details about my experience; dm me through my instagram @martinahackbartt)

I have been a long time EF loyal student. I have been studying with multiple of your school across the world, including: Boston, London, New York City, Malta, Shanghai. And I have to admit the staffs at EF London school are the best among all locations I have studied at. The staff show their passion on every single activities with us. If I have difficulty on any issues, my mentors, academic coordinators will always jump in and learn what has happened, and what they can do to ensure I am happy for the time remaining there. London is no doubt a big city, there are definitely more things you can do compares to other school locations. However, it is those EF staffs that I will remember forever!

I went to EF School in London during the summer 1999. I have great memories! I've met so many people from all over the world. Teachers were nice. School was very clean. My host family was good (located in zone 4). People are complaining about the commute, but the transit system in London is quite good. The school has a very good location. It was expensive though and I couldn't afford to stay more weeks.

If you are older than 30 it’s not the best option for you! If you are thinking about an intensive course for improve your English faster, this is not an option for you. I paid for 3 weeks in London for improve my English and I regret taking this decision. - lessons with more than 15 people with diferentes level. - 4 lessons/week (~13% of your paid lessons) for self-study (no teacher, just a PC). - levels assigned with no academic criteria. - classes with people younger than 20 (+50%) when was supposed that the course paid was for being in academy with people above 25. As in everywhere you can find people amazing and one of my teachers was the best ever. But Is the only person in EF that showed a little interest in or opino, customer service doesn’t care your opinion. Once you’ve paid and are finishing your stay, doesn’t care about you any more.

It's an awesome place to not only improve English ability but also soak in a friendly learning environment. All students come from different countries make this place diverse. Just stay open-minded and you will definitely get best support! Moreover, EF holds city tours sometime. Never hesitate to register the trips because you will get cheaper prices than going by yourself, and having fun with teachers and classmates give you opportunities to learn and use English in daily life.

???????? I was studying with EF London school for 1 month this summer. Studying in EF London school was one of the best experiences in my life! Lessons are always interesting, fruitful and never boring! It’s not like in ordinary school when you want to go home as earlier as possible. Staff in the school is always very kind and is ready to give you a hand in every time! Also EF has lots of past time activities organized by friendly and super cool activity leaders! Every week we have something like holiday. For example, we have “Hawaiian day” , “Harry Potter Day”, “Disney Day” , etc. By the way, you should know that usually people write comments and rate something when they aren’t happy with it, but when we are happy we just take it for granted. That’s why there are some negative notes. So you have take it into account! I really liked this school and would like to come here back!???? ????????

Absolutely the best language school I have ever attended. I came here with high expectations and was incredibly happy to see that all the good things I have been reading about the school were true. The staff is amazing, the teachers are the best and it was an absolute delight to come and study with all the amazing people I have met here. 10/10 would go again. What a school.

My experience with ef has been extremely positive and apart little things which belong to any serious educational organization I would like to underline three things in particular. First, friendly atmosphere where vitality dominates. Secondly, teachers are creative. I got to know two ones.. Very involving and being a teacher myself I thought "this way of involving makes teaching stgh unique.. Creative". Third, everybody is well accepted and you feel part of a wider group of people. No matter if you take part in a rich social life or not.. I didn't but felt well though.. Ok positive experience!!!

I had a Very complicated experience with EF. I was in London Residence and the staff did not tell us anything that we were suposted to know. They were not Very good at keeping track on the students and they were Really bad at informing us on importaint Stuff. Like when we were suposted to go home, they did not tell us that we had to be out of the Residence at 10 AM so we got kicked out of our rooms by the cleaning ladies so I had to leave half of my Stuff in the room including souvenirs and other Stuff that I had just bought. I am therefore Really mad at EF and I hope they will start doing a better job so the next Group of students wouldn't have to go througt what me and my friends went througt.???? Part two: When we were at the airport on the arrival day, our buss driver was very stressed, and he was yelling at us and our course leaders. He was so mad that he forgot to make sure that the door to the luggage was closed, so when we drove on the highway, our luggage was spread across the road. One suitcase even hit a car, but thankfully no one were hurt. Because it was to dangerous for us to drive with the bussdriver, we had to go back to the airport and wait for a new buss. After a few hours we found out that the bus was not comming. So we had to call to 7-8 different taxis to get us to the school. When my taxi finally arrived, we had been waiting for about 5 hours, and I arrived at the Residence at 4 AM. And we had to get up for school at 8 AM. So because we arrived at that time, we missed the information meeting, and all of the students from Denmark (including me) and our course leaders, were not told when we were suppost to leave 3 weeks after. And they did not tell us anything on wednesdays, there was nothing in our handbooks, and we were not informed with the fact that we were allowed to store our stuff in the office.

I had a wonderful trip to London, traveling with EF! The two weeks I spend there were not just fun, but also educational – also socially! The staff was great – just like the other students. Not at any point during the trip, did I regret that I travelled with EF. An experience which I can only recommend to others!

The 3 weeks of English Immersion Courses were very memorable to me. I'll never forget the time in London when I learned the language here and found a lot of friends from different parts of the world. I also had a chance to study Business English and learn some leadership skills. The classes were very interesting as they included both practical training and theory, but what is more liked was the IPad session, which developed four skills, reading, writing, speaking, listening. Thanks!

The amount of money that u give for any programs of this school don't worth, there are many better schools with the same amount of classes and even better quality of teaching in a reasonable price.

The campus is incredibly beautiful. However, EF is a pretty pricy program and I felt like the London program wasn't worth the price (it could be if you are a beginner, I was advanced). I had a really good experience in Spain however, so I'd say it's about getting informations and knowing what's best for you.

If you are a teacher then I warn you, do not take a job with EF. They are a horrible company. If you are a student, I would also advise you; do not go with EF. They have slick marketing, but they a not a nice business, and although you'll have fun being in London and meeting people, EF will not give you a quality service. I worked for EF in 2013, and in an industry where pay is always low, and work hours are often inconvenient and irregular, EF really stood out as being the most exploitative school to work for by miles. Zero hours contracts (they could tell you one week that the next week you would have no work at all), which ended up paying not enough to pay to rent a small room in and keep yourself fed in London, bullying attitudes from a manager, who may since have left, and a range of gimmicky and sub-par courses and resources helped make it a truly defeating experience. I recognise that many students have the time of their lives there, but really, there are schools which treat their teachers with a lot more humanity and respect, and those schools will thus have happier teachers who are better able to do their job. All of these comments relate to 2013, so I grant that things may have changed, but I suspect the corporate ethos that made it what it was is pretty much the same. I have since left TEFL, thank God, but when I look back I had some good times at some of the schools I worked for (Malvern House and Stafford House were good), but I genuinely still feel angry at the way EF treated me and all the other poor, impoverished teachers and other school staff working for them.

It was the best experience ever - I only stayed at the school for two weeks, but i learned so much! My grade at my high school in english classes has improved a lot in only two weeks. I can recommend for everyone who want to improve their english skills, meet some fantastic people from the other side of the world, or anyone who wants explore the streets of London.

@Will O is right! Wish I had read your review before attempting to work with EF. I worked at EFSummer 2017 London as a local, homestay teacher and only lasted 2 days. Without exaggerating, the 2017 London EF team are extremely disorganised, literally. I've yet to see a company as disorganised as them. The staff are overworked, sometimes disrespected and get paid very little for what they do. The induction and so called training isn't helpful at all and doesn't prepare you for the actual work/workload. Your questions and queries are shrugged off or directed to the wrong person again and again. It wasn't until I woke up with a migraine and had a panic attack in the middle of the night due to my worries and anxieties, that I decided "actually, I don't need to put myself through this, I can stop this now.' It's really unfair that parents pay so much to send their children abroad without actually knowing how badly the staff are treated. I'll be continuing to share my experience of EFSummer London 2017 via word of mouth, to EF potential workers, students and parents. The only good thing I can say about this experience is that I got to meet some really lovely people from all over the world, and had a blast with my students as I always do. Thanks.

My 3 weeks English Business intensive courses were very great to me. I will not forget the time there, I learned the language and i found a new friends from different countries. My course were very good, i have had a good teacher who always helps us to improve our english. And also the teachers were very funny, the best was that that we learned some good things for the future, like leadership skills. All in all, the class were interesting, because we had a practical training lesson and theory lesson., Now i am practicing my english online, i make the i lab session and it helps me to improve my skills, reading, writing, speaking and listening. Thanks

IS THE WORST COMPANY IN THE WORLD, THEIR HOST FAMILIES ARE AWFUL, VERY STINGY... I LIVED IN LONDON AND ALL THE STUDENTS HAVE PROBLEMS, THE 5 STARS HERE IS BECAUSE EF GIFT SOMETHING IF THEIR STUDENTS QUALIFY 5 STARS..... BUT THE FACT IS IF YOU WANT TO DO ANY ACADEMIC YEAR OUTSIDE YOUR COUTRY CONTACT ANY UNIVERSITY OR SOMETHING ELSE.... I HAD MANY MANY PROBLEMS WITH EF COLOMBIA AND EF UK AND THEY DONT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING.... AND IM SURE THAT ALL HAVE AND HAD AND WILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH EF... ALSO THEIR CLASSES ARE SO BORING.
