Apart from having to wait to be seen after being given an appt, my son found that the College has the facilities that he wants. The staff are so kind and caring. My son has special needs and has an ehcp and this has encouraged him to reach his career. He can have time to do things at his own space and is given help when needed. He is looking forward to starting College in Sep and I would recommend going for a look around and seeing what is available for your child needs.

Truly disgusted! My friend attends this college and was pulled out of lesson by a teacher who wrongly accused her of bullying!!! She then dismissed her without even apologising

I can’t even describe how anxious and miserable that place made me feel, i came back to college after having a year off due to my anxiety, the tutors knew about my issues however they didn’t do anything about it, still asked me questions in class even though it made me want to cry and shake really bad, didn’t understand when my work was late due to my anxiety and depression, just overall not very supportive, i quit after 3 weeks because i couldn’t handle it, wish they could’ve handled it better, but we move on...

Visited the College today for the first time in the reopening phase. Excellent measures in place to ensure students, staff and visitors use the camps safely in line with current coronavirus measures. Room number limits displayed on all doors, hand washing stations, one way system including entry and exit, portable hand sanitizer in every room along with gloves and face masks in all rooms, temperature checks too. Well done Oldham College.

As a person who lives out of the Oldham area is one thing, but I have to say that I have used the services of the college on three occasions to get the qualifications required to help me, all I have to say is baring the one hickup on day one, all i can say is what a place. Staff found to very polite and helpful, service standards were excellent. What more can I say but wow.

A very aesthetically pleasing College. Although, similar to other FE institutions, there is minimal funding being provided by the government; the College have absolutely amazed everyone with the beauty of the new buildings. Most teachers provide one to one support as they're committed to bring out the best in their students. Some teachers, however, tend to take things a bit too far. By this I mean, some start screaming at their students, which can be heard from other classes. Other teachers tend to joke around with their students way too much, to the point where it's confusing as to whether they're being sarcastic or serious. Sometimes the jokes hurt, but it's ok because technically it's another life lesson - dealing with harassment. Personally, I found the head of the professional faculty very nice. John the man! Always looking out for students, always there to help and never in his office because he's too busy putting in work for the college. Absolutely smashed it lad! Anyways, back to reviewing the college. Honestly, if exam pressure isn't your thing, then come join Oldham College where you're under a calmer exam pressure everyday trying to get your assignment work up to date.

very bad . I studied at this college and the professor told me that I could do law, they enrolled me and everything. Now classes start next week and they tell me to change the course and the teacher who told me I could do law now doesn't speak to me.

It's been 3 years I have been to this college and I find it excellent. My teachers are very understanding and they teach us properly. I really like Oldham College because they provide halal food. Everyone is friendly. I just finished my Fine Art and Design level 2 program and I achieved Distinction and I would say I achieved this result because of the best teacher I got. She is very lovely and very hardworking. I learnt many art techniques from her, she helped me to build new skills, she explains everything so clearly. I am really glad I got the best teacher. Her name is Langwieser Tina. She is very lovely...

Absolute tragedy of a college, switching up the course before we started and not telling us until 7 months later and getting our results 3 months late. Teachers know nothing about what they teach and the course is not even accepted by most unis and parts of the spec are incorrect. Nothing good to say about this dump.

Digital and creative faculty (computing specifically) staff have little knowledge on what they are teaching and very poor organisation. I would recommend A levels or any other college. I signed up for a BTEC course but the changed it without informing and 2 years later they still have no idea what they are doing. Waste of time.

I got to say, I didn't like the class for the first time, but The Oldham College staff has supported me and got my diagnosed what is the issue with disability to help me passed my course. I would say this College is main stream and recommend for special needs because they have department for them, so they are separated from main students, but they want to do other courses like (Child care) e.g. they will have to join with other students. I usually don't give Colleges for 5 stars rating, but this one recommend.

Coming to this college is the equivalent of the old fashion comprehensive education system where teacher can verbally and psychologically abuse students. I have a poor quality teacher who shout at students as if it was a pupil at high school and this behaviour seems to be acceptable. The staff concern has not been hold accountable by management and behaves in a way as she can do what she like. Some teacher are good and others not so. Be careful what you choose here. I won't be surprised if report of child abuse where found out to happen.

The college lied about the course I was signed up for, claiming it was a BTEC worth 3 A-levels. It turned out to be a different course a few weeks in and worth only 2 A-levels. They chose this because it was cheaper. They do not care about the students' education and because of this I had to apply for two more courses that I did not want to do just to have a shot at higher education. The staff lack in organisation and coordination. Half of the time they don't know what's going on. Two years in and they are still confused about our course and so are the students. They also do not like students standing up for themselves and will shut down and censor anyone who tries to present valid arguments to poor decision making. If you are serious about your education do not attend Oldham College. You will be disappointed.

im on a level 2 software course however im looking to change the course next year but that is no fault of the teachers as they have given me the best support they can (especially sarah) it is just simply a matter of wanting to branch out and do something different

So where do I start? Well just so you all know the college is terrible and inconsistent. About 7 tutors for one subject in a year because they all kept leaving. 6 people out of 30 passed their real examination and then the manager of the course (Sarah) had the nerve to ring up my parents and tell them that only 20% of people failed (I guess maths wasn’t her strong suit). The funny thing is we weren’t even taught about the entirety of the course. We didn’t even learn any proper coding until a week before the synoptic assignment and the synoptic had a tonne of coding. The last tutor they hired for us didn’t even really teach, at times he would when it looked like his job was on the line but that’s it. I am utterly disgusted with the way things have gone this year and I don’t want ANYONE to suffer from this. There was also a scenario where a tutor went and took a personal scenario between me and another student then outright lied about it and made it into a scenario which could’ve gotten us into legal trouble. (Not saying names because last time someone did it caused a load of trouble because they can’t take criticism)

The worst college ive ever had any experience with. Teachers do not care about pupils or even doing there job to any extent. The only way to describe this college is a joke and a disgrace. DO NOT go to this college

I am currently an apprentice in design at Oldham College. I have been employed around 10 months now and have learnt a vast array of new skills within this time. Before my apprenticeship I was a student at the College and the atmosphere is great, everyone is approachable and ultimately the staff are determined to help you achieve your goals.

I am an intern and I have been employed by Oldham College for 12 months. In this time I have learnt an incredible amount of new things and obtained new skills. I was sent to various courses internally and externally. My Managers always motivated me and gave me a freedom to choose what my work priorities are. I receive support in every step of my way and I know that the staff is very understanding even if the things do not happen as they were planned. I feel like I have learnt so much in this short space of time and at the same time have been given freedom to make my own decisions and take part in vital college processes such as course delivery and building relationships with stakeholders.
