Ian has honestly been the most patient and kindest ever with me. I have anxiety issues and he even chilled me out when I cried and didn't put any pressure on me.
Would 100000% recommend Ian.. he is a gosh damn super hero!
Because of him, I passed my driving test and my whole life had opened up.

I started learning with Chris in October 2019 after having lessons in a manual on and off since 2016 with two separate driving instructors from different driving schools. By the time I saw Chris I'd pretty much decided to switch to automatic, I'd lost all confidence in ever passing a test (not that I'd taken one) as driving made me feel so nervous. I'd passed my theory test in the summer of 2018 and since I work full time and have two young children I just didn't think I'd pass before my theory ran out, or ever for that matter, as driving just didn't come naturally to me.
As soon as I had my first lesson with Chris I instantly felt at ease and even began to enjoy having driving lessons. Chris is a fantastic teacher and clearly very passionate about his job. I really liked his laid back way of teaching and he has a wealth of knowledge spanning a huge variety of topics, so we always had something interesting to talk about. That being said, he was mindful that I sometimes had to block him out so I could concentrate! One thing I particularly appreciated is that Chris doesn't believe in practising test routes as he would rather make sure you can drive anywhere and this makes so much more sense. Every lesson was different and I felt like this gave me a but better feel for driving in everyday conditions and has ultimately given me much more confidence as a driver. We did spend some time looking at some particularly difficult areas in test areas just to make sure that I was comfortable, but it certainly wasn't the repetitive action that I'd experienced with my previous instructor.
I'm so pleased that I've now passed my test and so thankful to Chris for all his help and patience. If I could do one thing differently, it would've been to start having lessons with Chris from the beginning, instead of wasting hundreds of pounds on previous instructors! Would definitely recommend Chris and the team at Better Driver Training to anyone ????

Had my first ever driving lessons today my instructor was alison it was one of the best and also nerve racking moments I've experienced but alison has taught me a lot in just the first 2 lessons and made me feel very comfortable I'm booked in for next week and generally can't wait thankyou again

As a nervous individual, he completely made me feel at ease and most importantly his teaching skills allowed me to enjoy all of my lessons and pass by test with confidence.

I can't thank Michelle enough! I managed to pass the test just three weeks before my 60 birthday, and never in my life did I think i would drive. She was a great instructor, made it simple, and was patient and kind. But most of all she was such fun!

My son was taught to drive by Chris in 2 months and is now a very safe driver. Chris was very patient and went well beyond what was required for the test; he made sure that my son was very well prepared for the demands of driving in real-life situations. Chris was particularly reassuring on the day of the test and settled my son's nerves and built up his confidence. I am very happy to recommend Chris and Better Driving Training. The theory test on line preparation is also excellent.

I cannot thank Andy enough for the hard work he put in. I was recommended him by a mate after already having lessons with other instructors. Andy immediately made time for me and was extremely flexible in booking me in. He immediately noticed my faults and addressed them. His instructing was perfectly clear and calm giving has a range of useful tips that I couldn't have passed without! He was influential in my clean sheet pass with 0 minors. Always had a laugh, great instructor and top guy.

I learnt to drive with Chris nearly 4 years ago and I would highly recommend! I passed my test with confidence and only a couple minors, and it was nice to have an instructor you could freely talk with rather than having an awkward teacher-student relationship. I'd rate 6 out of 5 stars if it was possible

Ian is a great instructor - I was very worried about driving at first since it's always portrayed ominously, however through significant amounts of patience, friendliness (and the odd bit of much needed sarcasm of course) Ian has managed to get me to a point where I now feel confident driving on the road.
The knowledge of driving instruction is clearly exemplary, given he quickly identified strengths and weaknesses when I just thought I was driving generally badly, and we worked on them to a point where they are now second nature to me. Now I've passed, the comprehensiveness of the instruction that covered far more than just the 'must-haves' for the test has allowed me to feel confident - not just sufficiently competent - when driving on the road.
Thank you so much for your help and being so patient and friendly to me; I will certainly be recommending Better Driver Training to anyone that needs lessons.

I passed my test first time on Monday. Ian is a brilliant instructor. I was very nervous about learning but he made me feel comfortable, confident, and the lessons were really fun. A big thank you to Dan who helped me learn to drive semi-intensively over two and a half months. He was a fantastic instructor and I passed my test first time. The teaching approach the driving school uses is what made me select Better Driver Training in the first place, and it worked really well. I felt like it was a structured and informative approach and I am now a good, safe and confident driver. I will be highly recommending Dan, and the teaching school, to friends and family. I didn't have a clue how to drive when I begun and did all my learning through 48hrs of private lessons with Dan (as I had no access to a personal car to practice in). After my first instructor moving away I found Chris and the knowledge and confidence in driving all came at once! Friendly lessons and nice quirks to help you remember things! Highly recommended. Even moved him onto my brother when he came of age!
Even after I had an accident few months after passing, chris offered to help get back in the driving seat with confidence lessons and that can't be thanked enough!!
Scarily it's now been 6+ years!!
