I've been coming here for the best part of the last 20 years. The staff change frequently, even more so in the last 5-6 years, but pretty much every time, my haircut is exactly as I want it and the staff are lovely. I never want to go anywhere else, not even the other nearby branches of Mr. Toppers, if I can help it, I'm the most comfortable here.

Great place with very friendly staff! The prices are very low when compared with other barbers in the area. I ended up paying 16£ for hairs and beard, even though I asked him to shorten the sides a bit more! Fantastic cost/service ratio

Don't come here if you value your safety or your looks. The guy who cut my hair was incredibly sloppy and at one point he cut his finger with the scissors and the bit of bloody skin fell on my lap. Someone else finished my haircut but they still made me pay for it. Not even worth the 11 pounds, just go somewhere decent which is what I should've done in the first place

I went to get my fiancé’s hair done by James or Jay the barber (northern lad!) - he is without a doubt one of the most incredible barbers and has such a lovely personality to boot! Can’t recommend asking for James when and if you go there.

Great value, exact quality depends on who is working on any given day as the staff rotates, but I've never had a bad haircut from here. No need to book, I've never had to wait that long, just make sure you don't turn up just before closing time. And they have started taking credit cards as well, so no need to hit the cash machine beforehand.

Location has been changed onto Bedford Avenue. Hair cut OK. A bit hard to communicate in English. Got 8 pound change, in which 7 are the old one pound coins on the last day of their validity. Had to force myself to spend all of them on the day!

Just had my second cut here. Cracking place. Always a good price (£9, give them £10 for the tip) and always fast.
They have turned me around quick enough to still have time for lunch afterwards.
Always different people, all friendly, and they know what they are doing.
They can be a bit scissor happy but as long as you are not exactly precious over your hair, you're not going be bothered by that.
Big thumbs up, found my barber for the next few years.

I’ve been going to this place for 5 months now and I just had one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever had. This blonde lady cut my hair like she was mindlessly shearing a sheep.
I know it’s £9 haircut so I shouldn’t be expecting much but I know that the insides of my shirt shouldn’t be covered in hair. She literally didn’t even bother to put the collar thingy around my neck all the way or even tie the damn covering sheet fully. Even after making it apparent I was uncomfortable she did nothing to help out. She was impatient, cold and deeply uninterested in what I wanted and just wanted to be done with the haircut. At the end of the haircut she proceeds to tell me the last person who cut my hair cut the crown hair too high - I had my last haircut here!! She’s successfully ruined my hair and my faith in Mr. Toppers.
All in all, terrible haircut, rude-uninterested hairdresser and a shirt full of hair. I’m not saying everyone here is bad (I’ve had some great haircuts here before) but if you see an old blonde woman with short hair and no expression offer to give you a haircut - RUN.

I just got a fine haircut for £9 (£10 w/tip). Great music (Bob Marley blasting) and atmosphere, not much wait at all. If you want something special or walk around with a designer handbag (you know who you are, guys. You, with the white sunglasses and just-so 5 o'clock shadow!), you might want a more upscale place. If you want a quick decen tcut for cheap, this place is just the call.

I'm not sure if this place has closed down. I'm rating it 1 star because I arrived at 9:10 and waited 10 minutes for it to open. That's 20 minutes after their own listed opening hours from their glass window. Not reliable. There's a shop across the street and slightly to the left when you look away from this one. Go there.
