Absolutely appalling customer service. The property we were meant to view was beautiful but I’m almost glad we never got to see it because I wouldn’t trust this team with anything as important as renting me my home - stay away! Worst Estate Agents in the world - the customer service rep seemed overjoyed to take me off his books when I wasn't happy with the service - literally joyous to be rid of customers seems to be the theme of this company.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Renting my house through these cowboys cost me £10k in lost rent and damage. They recommended tenants who set up a professional cannabis grow op in 2 bedrooms, stopped paying rent after 3 months, and PB refused to carry out an early inspection when I expressed concerns. When I complained to CEO and Lettings Director they responded it was not their problem and I should have checked the insurance I requested through them was in place! Have caused untold misery and financial hardship to me.

Shocking to see that in 2021 that Purple bricks are one of the only agents using software and technology to make their sales process quicker, smoother and far superior to its competitors.

We do not even want to leave PB a one star review. AVOID! We paid £900 upfront for nothing in return. Our agent allowed several offers to fall to the wayside because there was literally no post-offer involvement...she just disappeared. and was impossible to contact. Trying to sell our house with PB was the most stressful experience we have ever had, and eventually after over 2 years on the market, we turned to a local estate agent who sold our house within 24 hours...and who communicated with us, our buyers and the solicitors in the professional manner one would expect. We would not recommend PurpleBricks if they were the last estate agents on earth.

Very disappointed with the service received. Spoke to the first person who came out and got on really well, thought it would be ok. Turned out someone else did all the viewings. House was not left in a very good state after they had left; doormat half out of the door, toilet used, but not flushed. What I found worst was the lack of communication. The app/platform was useless, none of the people that viewed the house left feedback. We didn't know why it wasn't selling. Since putting it on with a shop-based estate agent it's sold in 2 weeks after being on with Purple Bricks for over 2 months. Wish it was made clearer that the fees have to be paid up-front. What leverage do you have to get them to sell your house if you've already paid them? Waste of over £1000.

Avoid this company.. I am literally absolutely fuming... Had a valuation booked then on the morning of the valuation rang me and asked if I was selling or quote was for probate when I said probate surprise surprise they made some excuses about covid restrictions and said they could only do an online valuation and not visit in person .leaving my plans for the day in a mess. . Pathetic and I would post no stars if possible ridiculously unprofessional..

Purple Bricks hired my partner to do work at one of their properties in 2019 all was good until the invoice arrived which they refused to pay(No reason at all was given) My partner then decided to take them to court and Purple Bricks ended up having to pay up plus costs. This is not the first time they’ve done this as a recent online search can find. One from an electrician in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire where he issued a bill of £105+ vat and they refused to acknowledge that and it got to the small claims court where purple bricks lost again.

Where do we start, If you are planning on using Purple bricks to sell your home, please stop now!!! We found out the hard way, We were assigned Kerry Smith, and of course her valuation was about £5k over the local estate agents. Naively we opted to go for Purple Bricks with the promise of a higher sale price and very low fees we thought we were on to a winner. How wrong was we, Photos were horrendous, there is no support at all, we mentioned why we hadn't had any viewings and she said "she has asked her colleagues" and they dont know either. Anyway, we did eventually sell, and that is when the communication stopped. not once did anyone call or email us in the 6 months between sale and completion to see how things are going. We had to deal directly with our buyer and become an estate agent over night answering any questions he had for us, and trust me there was a lot. A call was made to my buyer right at the end but this was because Purple bricks were involved in a sale further up the chain and wanted to know what the hold up was.again still call or email to us and no follow up to my buyer. In short they are quite possibly the worst company I have ever used for any kind of service. Basically £995 gets you space on right move and some shoddy photos taken. Again, If you are thinking of using Purple Bricks, Please Please Please think again and use a local trusted estate agent. If I could I would of given them zero stars P.s the only contact we got after the house sold was a text message wishing us a merry Christmas and then straight after a message asking us to ignore that message as it was sent to the wrong person. Sums them up !!!

My experience with Purple Bricks (Birmingham) was extremely poor. We had 6 agents in one year. All except 1 were poor. There was no proactive effort to contact clients and when we did get a (low) offer, our agent made no effort to negotiate or encourage the potential buyer to put another offer in. In the end we decided to use a more local estate agent which I would advise if you are in the Birmingham area. Since doing that we sold the flat quickly and noticed an incredible difference in professionalism. If only Purple Bricks showed the same initiative and eagerness to sell my flat as they did to sell me the extra 'auction facility service' they offer (which would mean selling my flat at a much lower rate as an 'easy sell' for Purple Bricks. Every agent we had said how the last one was really bad and that they would be a lot better, but this turned out to be empty words. None of these agents proactively chased contacts and with our new estate agents they are much more strategic and tactical, doing outbound calls which we never had with Purple Bricks. Don't be sucked into the low estate agent fees and higher valuation and instead choose the estate agent that is selling the most flats or houses in the area with the most expert knowledge.

My wife booked a viewing via the Birmingham office at 7.45 am and waited 12 hrs before we had a reply where they tried to change the date to 4 days later. Then an email arrived asking for proof of funds etc and that the viewing may not take place even though the website showed free spaces. Why does it take 12 hours to confirm a viewing? Why were we sent so many different messages stating so many different things, there was no consistency. God help the sellers if it is this bad for purchasers!!!

Awful and very unprofessional. I booked a viewing twice of which they cancelled both times. For the third time we arranged a viewing and were just 5 minutes away from the property that I received a text message from Elizabeth Moore (their letting expert!!??) saying she has been trying to contact me but it wasn’t connecting and she said the landlord is not letting his property to a family with kids, so cancelled my viewing just 15 mins before actual viewing!!! We drove all the way from Luton to Ealing which took us an hour and they cancelled the viewing just like nothing has happened!! On the same day, I received phone calls, emails and text messages from other agencies and only this agency couldn’t get hold of me ???? She wasn’t polite at all and instead of saying sorry, raised her voice in a very bad way. What kind of expert is that???? Why don’t they state that landlord doesn’t want a family with kids at first place? Then I wouldn’t even bother calling them.

I see numerous homes for sale with Purple Bricks, please take care and get everything in writing, I have had a terrible experience with them, they still owe us money, and are denying liability. They won't answer our calls, and if we're lucky enough to get through they hang up... I've tried to complain, and I get shut down every avenue... I hope you don't have to endure the same traumatic experience we are still living through... Good Luck x (sorry to be the negative post person)

I bought a house in Leeds with Purplebricks as the agent. The agent lied about the buyers position (said chain free), lied about the duration they'd lived there (said 4 years, it was under 1) and lied about the age of the boiler. The lies continued with updates given throughout the sale and nearly led to us pulling out. On the whole they were very unprofessional and deeply unpleasant to do business with.

Wish I could share a 0-star review. I have so much feedback to give but will keep it short and sweet (much like their involvement with the house sale/purchase). We basically just paid them for a Rightmove listing as we ended up having to take all of our listing photos and completely re-write the description as the agent did a truly appalling job.

If you can, avoid. Very poor communication and no support from an agent. We were first time buyers, and you would expect at least a minimum of welcome, enthusiasm and support from the agency, but none of that was the case. When we finally took over the keys, I still had some questions to ask about the property but the agent was very inpatient and anxious to leave the house as soon as possible. He didn't have the answer to ANY of the questions I asked (what is the heating like, where are the main valves, where are the keys to the garage and garden door...nothing), and was constantly trying to leave the property, which he finally achieved after I tortured him for full 3 minutes with varius very tough questions such as:"What is this key for?" to which the answer was:"For the door." I may be a little bit too harsh on them. In the end...they did leave a present for us which we only realised a few weeks later...an attic absolutely packed with rubbish from the previous owner, which we had to clear out at our cost. Such a nice welcome pack from an agent! Well done! I simply cannot understand how is it possible you guys are actually running a successful business.

Known for being the cheaper option (and they were), I didn't expect the high level of service we received from Purple Bricks - heads and shoulders over our previous estate agent Graham Colliss was fantastic in not only helping with all aspects of putting our house on the market but also went above and beyond, acting as a liaison between ourselves, our solicitors and the buyers when communication stalled on numerous occasions. Throughout, he was professional but also hugely approachable which definitely made a stressful situation more manageable - Massive thanks Graham :-)

Where do I begin ???? Feel completely done over from day one! So eager to get my name on the dotted line, and a mess after that. Are advisor left the business and was not told, we are trying to contact her for weeks with nothing!!! To get a phone call from a guy who I didn’t have a clue who it was asking is to drop our house price after 4 weeks on the market!!!!! For sale sign put on the wrong house and made the neighbours mad with us because PB didn’t move it for weeks! In the end the guy ripped it out the ground and dumped it on our front lawn. 8 viewings in 6 months. The app is perfect for people to cancel without any reason! I’ve done all the work and took on all the stress while I’m 100% sure there happy to just accept my fee of £999 and run and not help me sell my house. Contacted my new agent a number of times for advice and help to nothing! Won’t answer his phone or messages. Guess he’s given up on my house and got a 4 bed to sell with more commission for him! Had no choice but to go with another agency and the difference is night and day! 4 viewings a WEEK!!!! Phone calls every day and offers coming in! AVOID PURPLE BRICKS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They take your money and leave with offering zero service.

I bought a house that was marketed by Purplebricks. Truth be told, I was quite apprehensive as I have heard a lot of negative opinions about Purplebricks and I was worried that it may affect the sale. It didn't and ultimately all was well. In our case being in direct contact with the vendor was great. We got along very well and we were both very responsive so it was quicker to communicate directly rather than via an estate agent. However, when I dealt with Purplebricks directly, the I got the impression that the person I dealt with was in above his head. He got me mixed up a few times and he did not pass over information to the vendor. For example I had shared parts of the survey we had done requesting someone to look into something that could potentially be a problem. The estate agent did not forward any details and the vendor was clueless as to what was going on. Another negative point was that Purplebricks kept on leaving messages asking for me to call them back but 9/10 no one would answer the phone. That being said, everyone I dealt with at Purplebricks was quite friendly, I just felt that they had too much going on which could result in poor service due to mix ups.

Never ever deal with this company .. They let me down and caused a lot of stress to me and my family and jeopardized my kids safety because of their very short notice that the house is not ready despite you have 4 weeks time since provisional agreement to sort out everything you need to do. They suddenly remembered to do electricity check one day before my tenancy starting and found that a lot of work need to be done still!!!!!. So why it has been marketed from the beginning if it is not ready and safe to be occupied yet?!!!!.. You dealt with me in unprofessional way which something I was not expecting from a big company like you. Even you advised me to cancel and to be offered full refund of my holding deposit which I did and sent you an email, no one bothered even to reply to my email with apology or confirmation of my holding deposit refund ..

Terrible. Had to retake the pictures myself as the agent used her phone! Had to take her off the viewings aswell as she was either cancelling them and trying to move them all to an open day or she wouldn't confirm any requests. If your in Birmingham and you have to deal with Carly id run a mile! She is by far the worst agent ive ever met

Disastrous service. Once they sign you up they are absent and slow/to no response. They don’t take complaints seriously and you end up bounced from here to there just to try and get someone to listen and at best help (very, very basic requests expected of an estate agent). Only 1 viewing in 5 months. But they consider that’s good marketing. Do not use Purple Bricks.

Rang up to arrange a viewing on a few houses in Leeds for next Wednesday. I got a call back 4 hours later saying two of the properties I wanted to view had gone on Saturday. They said I could have still the properties if I put in a higher offer for the rent. I was not informed about this before booking. I will not be using these people again.

So I am using their fully managed letting service.Which meant to be landlord should not spend any time etc. Awful service. They give key to the tenant without checking the tenant paid deposit and advance and top of that tenant did not even signed the contract. Based on what they gave my key to the tenant only God knows. Viewing agents and the managing team blaming each other doesn’t corresponding them self. I literally chased them to know exactly what happening no communication from them what’s happening. No idea tenant already moved in to the property as well purple bricks doesn’t have idea . Very frustrating I have no trust with them literally not even worth 1star.

This company is selling and buying feelings of people, they take full advantage of your situation. The agents play big game on both sides, including the buyer and the seller. This company tries to sell their properties on higher prices compared to the market price. RACHEL MACINTOSH, who is one of the agent at the Birmingham center, she is a complete and absolute waste of time. She promised me to get the house and she promised the price of the house won’t go higher than the one I offered. I can seriously get the recording of when she said that from my network provider. The following day she told me she didn’t promise me anything and it was up to the seller to sell the property on whatever price he wanted to sell at. The seller refused to communicate with me as he was manipulated by Rachel, so the seller doesn’t agree on certain price ( which would have impacted on the commission). The agents at the purple bricks are breaching The Act of Estate Agents 1979 and The Law of Property Act 1925. The Regulations of Property Agents (RoPA) needs to inspect this company again. I guess it is evident enough as the google reviews are so genuine and true. The agents lack in effective communications and empathy, they pass on the wrong information between the seller and the buyer to create a huge confusion. I would never sell or buy from this company. The worst experience I’ve ever had. This company needs special training to deal with their customers/clients.

By far and away the worst customer service I have ever had the displeasure of receiving. I've been trying to raise a complaint for months now and have been repeatedly ignored, I assume in the hope that I will eventually just give up. PB have caused untold amount much stress for me and my tenants. I have lost count of how many people I've been passed around to in their Solihull office and I'm still to find anyone who cares enough to listen. Ugly business model: invest heavily in marketing and a flashy sales team, whilst undercutting its competition, but with a completely inept service to back it up. The one positive to come out of it is that I have formed a good relationship with my tenants over the many hours spent discussing just how bad this service from PB is. One of the low points was when they started legal proceedings against my tenants, stating that it was at the landlords request. As the landlord, this was a complete and utter lie. I'm not usually one to leave a review, which is a sign of just how desperate the situation has become. Maybe they'll respond to this? I won't hold my breath. Looking at the reviews they get, my case is not a one-off. Do yourself a favour and take your business elsewhere, these guys are an absolute disgrace.

Initial review, Appalling. Property description for approval had basic spelling mistakes in it and We swear it was for another property not ours. Looks like it was written last thing on a Friday whilst the agaent was eating a burger in his car. Photos were FB quality, no care taken at all. As for contacting the agent, took the money and won't reply to calls. Very shoddy. I suppose you get what you pay for.

So un proffessional, rude rude lady who was meant to be dealing with my application/property. She was trying to tell me I sent an email on Tuesday instead of Monday - it doesnt matter what day because I had to wait weeks on end for a replyy!!!! They don't bother with checking properties before hand maybe because they cant be arsed and seem to be so so 'busy' whilst letting out disgusting filthy properties to tenants. Asked her what I actually come to her for her reply was 'nothing' which just made me laugh because she did not point me in the right direction at all and she had a rude tone in her voice throughout the entire phone call (a phone call I waited 2 weeks for by the way) ended up speaking to the guy who actually put forward my application and he was amazing he helped me out enough to get things sorted - shouldve just spoke to him about it from the start. Its a shame that the rude people put a bad name to such organisations.

Booked a viewing late at night, viewed first thing on the morning to find out it had sold! Time wasters. Called them to have a snotty lady tell me there’s nothing she can do. ( an apology would have been nice for wasting my time) you had time to call me to cancel the viewing yet you sent me a confirmation viewing text! Poor service! Won’t sell my house via you now...

I would not recommend they cancelled our viewings twice and rearrange. When we finally got to view the house we wanted to view the lady was on her phone the whole time and we had to show ourselves round. When it came to our moving day we sat waiting outside the house for over 2 and half hours as they couldn't fine the key and didn't know which member of staff had it!! I have phoned and complained and the lady I spoke to said she would look in to it and phone me back!! A week later and still no phone call back!!

Try emailing, you NEVER get a response. Try putting your deposit money with them, its game over, having to go down the court route to get my money back... UTTER SHAMBLES of a incompetent business.

Would give a zero star but no option. We are currently 9 months into our 10 month contract with Purplebricks. They are in my opinion, to put it bluntly USELESS. We received our bill reminder yesterday as we chose to defer payment with the comment: 'We continue to work hard to sell your property'. Well, our experience is that they do as little as possible. In fact they have done almost nothing to sell our property. A recent e mail of concern has not been responded to (unless being contacted by the auction side of their business constitutes a response). To quantify my comments. So far the auction side of their business seems much better. Time will tell I suppose. My advice is you'll be throwing approx £1K away if you go with Purple Bricks. Stick to a local agent who value your property correctly. Yes, you'll pay more but at least they work for you and know the area. Were we guilty of being played by an inflated valuation? Undoubtedly so in my opinion and if this admittance helps someone else save money then good news AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.

My daughter is currently trying to buy a house marketed by Purple Bricks, and is having a dreadful experience. Her offer was accepted by the vendor, and since then, she has had no communication from PBs, despite chasing them up daily. Calls and emails are ignored. I'm really disappointed by this - a first house purchase shouldn't be this stressful especially when the vendors have no upward chain and everything is in place. An absent estate agent is just not on. My husband & I were considering using PBs for the sale of our home, but after this, I will steer well clear of them

Wouldn't even give it a 1 star, tried to sell our house for a year. Hardly any viewings, never had any information passed on in regards to the viewers position unless pushed. Ended up paying them the fee and not selling our house. They also left the back gate open on a viewing causing the dog to escape. 3 months on and we are still getting emails from the conveyancing, this needs to stop. I do not need to be reminded of having to fork out money for nothing and the house is no longer on the market!!!
