Decent friendly staff and pretty quick turnaround.

Having bought one of National Auto clutches, through a motor parts supplier (Sutton Auto Factors) For a VW Caddy 2010. It developed noises after approx 2000 miles, the van was returned to the garage who stated it was the bearing! So needed a new clutch. The auto parts who supplied it, after 6 weeks still hasn’t contacted the garage (their customer). After further callnhe was told to contact National Auto tech department but they will typically make excuses not to replace the product. I took the van to 3 independent garages who all diagnosed the thrust bearing, new clutch! Today the mechanic called National Auto and was subjected to excuses, questions on his 30 years mechanical knowledge, blame of “coasting/a pipe” all diagnosed on the phone by a member of staff in the technical department. He was told order a new pipe from Vw! When replacing the clutch he carried out all appropriate tests and there was no issue with anything else other than the clutch! So knew this person was making excuses and washing their hands of the issue! It transpires these clutches have a 3 year 30,000 mile warranty, yet the technical department didn’t want to do an actual test with the van at their site 10 miles from the garage. He also stated that when the clutch was taken out of it wasn’t this pipe would they honour replacement and labour cost No this person said! So my advice, steer well clear of these until you have full clarification of their returns policy, my van has done less than 3000 miles I have been in and out of hospital and you have a customer service department that is doing everything they can to not correct faulty product. They deny there is a fault by an over the phone diagnoses. The said techie told the mechanic, does it drive, yes it dies but the bearings are very noisy What’s his problem if it drives he said. I have e mailed the MD and a manager, awaiting a response, if I do not get that by Tuesday I will just inform the motor ombudsman to check re product complaints I gave just been j formed this company product are problematic. Not being knowledgeable in that area I left it to Sutton Auto factors Who to be hinest have been Rubbish! Be very careful with these company’s who don’t respond to issues within 6 weeks, or use every excuse to avoid resolving the issue. Citizen advice just advised small claims court, so let’s see what happens in the next few days. If it’s just been employee issues or more worrying a company policy. In the interim Sutton Auto Factors National Auto Be very very careful when buying anything like this. Because it’s not only expensive parts but also labour costs
