We had an incredible experience here. Every staff member we interacted with was kind and professional, from the doctor and nurses, to the billing department, to the front desk reception. Their staff was responsive when we had questions or concerns between appointments. They also provided additional resources beyond the treatment itself, including nutritionists and social workers who were available by phone to answer questions when needed. We're very happy we decided to go here for treatment.

I makes me a little sad that the reception person at the infusion center today was very annoyed with me wanting to check on my mom who was having an infusion. I understand that there are no visitors during the pandemic and I only needed an update on her completion time. However, it seemed to be very bothersome to this person, as she frowned and huffed off. I was taken aback because all the other nurses and staff seem to be very empathetic and understand that if a family member is going through cancer treatments, we need patience and kindness.

my friend has had an incredibly difficult time with the staff here! they are so bad at responding when she needs them and when she does get through the secretary is very rude and dismissive. more than half the time that she calls there is no answer and these are obviously important health-related things she is calling about. when she emails they become upset with her (they "don't like email") so she is left with no options. i cannot stand the treatment my friend is getting and she always feels bad "bothering them" because she worries they will just treat her worse if she complains. PLEASE do not tell me to call patient experience as i see suggested above. She tried that months ago and was told to call the office manager, who is the same person she was mainly complaining about! she tried to call again just now and there was no answer. needless to say, it is extremely disheartening to receive no response from the people you are looking to for help. please give us some idea of how to get through to someone who can actually make change happen, because the staff is incompetent, defensive and rude and this only adds stress to an already difficult situation with her health. thank you.

Worst experience so far. Changed hospital from Cornell NY. First visit. Someone took our jacket during chemo. The home nurse NEVER called or came on time to take the port out from the infusion machine. No number to call and no one is helpful!!! Place is supposed to be renowned but so far it’s no where near that. I’m better off at one of the urgent practices!!!!

Excellent. The doctor and staff are highly trained to deal with the cancer patients. My health is improving since I started treatment at Hackensack Meridian Health/John Theurer Cancer Center. I specially recognize the excellent work and professionalism of the Lab at John Theurer.

I honestly don’t know what to say. My 48 year old mom was diagnosed with cancer around her heart. She underwent open heart surgery where they removed part of the tumor and fixed her heart. She was referred here. I was told that we had nothing to worry about by one oncologist because her cancer wasn’t spreading and was very tiny. After 7 months of chemo, doctor said she was doing amazing. The doctor even promoted immunotherapy. After 11 months from initially coming here after open heart, my mom passed away. She ended up having a tumor in her pancreas and 11 small tumors in her brain that apparently originated from that tiny tumor around her heart. It apparently spread, even after open heart surgery was performed in which most of her tumor was removed via surgery. It’s interesting how the new tumors were never diagnosed or mentioned until the very end. Either excessive amounts of radiation and chemo in a short span of 11 months might have provoked it. My mom had no PMH prior to surgery and never on any medication. I don’t know. I feel like the doctor here really didn’t focus much on the pt, it might be different depending on the dr. Most of the time we would see the nurse practitioner and not the doctor. The doctor would literally read the patient’s history or cat scan overview, while in the patient’s room. Using his 2 secs to read and then leave without properly looking at the patient or having a proper conversation. Hope and reassurance from a doctor is what cancer patients need. Patient’s mental mind set is what gives patients hope and is a big factor in their recover state so as a cancer doctor think of a better approach... take more time with pt. The staff here is good/friendly, but the dr my mom had needs to improve his patient care and be more up to date with each patient.

Had an appointment on the 4th floor with Dr Graham. The ANP in the late afternoon was the Healthcare provider who came to see us. She did not wash her hands when entering the patient room to begin this visit. Secondly, this is a cancer center where patients are dying in some cases and suffering and the vibe given off by some of these “professIonals” is outrageous. In some cases it actually feels as though they do not want to help you if they weren't inclined too. You would be hard pressed to find them smiling at-least in our case which is the least a person with a terminal illness can hope for while going thru treatment. However, instead I feel tension, horrible vibes and also a slight amount of disrespect which I can”t even begin to fathom. Why ? Why should someone endure this kind of treatment, there should be a reason that can be clearly explained as to why this is the kind of treatment being given otherwise it should not be the case at all. I hope things tidy up and the health care professionals have the least bit of decency to treat all patients with respect, fairness and honesty.

Dr. Pecora should have his license revoked. He is the most selfish and self serving doctor I've ever encountered. I took my 93 year old grandfather into his office. Not only did he make the nurse come in and check his advanced sarcoma on his leg (i can't for the life of me understand why he, as a doctor wouldn't check his wound), but he insisted that we put him through chemotherapy (undoubtedly because of all the money that he would collect from insurance) but it caused my grandfafher to go into heart failure (again). Steer clear.

This place is great first time in months where doctors treated me like a person and didn’t act like they where scared to exam me while I did not go with their treatment for personal reasons I recommend this place the staff is very kind and caring except the nursing assistant I saw my last visit making the comment she feels like I’m forcing my self to do this of course I’m am who likes going to the doctor and also she made my mri three months from now when I was due for one in two weeks not sure why some doctors seem content on dragging out my pain for months on end

I was treated here for Breast Cancer and the care and attention that I received was second to none. I was not a job or a client, I was made felt like I am family. Today I am going 6 years cancer free and I cannot thank God enough and the team that took such great care of me. I STRONGLY & HIGHLY Recommend this facility and their staff.

My mom has cancer and the staff and facilities are great. However, when receiving infusions or transfusions, it takes literally hours upon hours to get medicine, chemo, blood, plasma or whatever patients need. They have you wait 3 hours and then everything arrives and staff isn’t even sure if why that is. So when getting ready to do infusions, know you will be sitting for what feels like eternity. But the warm blankets, socks, and snacks are good too.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer at a different hospital and we were told that she had stage 4 and she cannot be operated but I wanted a second opinion and came here. Here she was given Kemo, they said everything was going well for 6 months and then she was operated because everything was looking good. Then we were told that the cancer spread to her stomach and now she has a tumor and she was sent home to die and everyday a nurse tells us it will be her last day. We asked for an IV for her and they said no because she will last longer. I am confused, angry, And disappointed. The only thing this cancer center proved to me was that all they care about is the insurance money they receive from the treatments.

I find the doctors and nurses and medical staff are very professional and always present when needed, The hospital itself is beautifully kept and does not have that uncomfortable hospital presence. But the most important great care along with great doctors and nurses ????

Definitely a wonderful place. Clean, bright and friendly staff. Most importantly is the fact that people care. This is moms second time there and she’s well taken care of. Only problem is waiting time. Some people are sick and the last thing they need is to sit there for hours waiting to be seen by doctors or nurses.

When i walked in i felt this was going to be a good experience. The people literally greet you from the door and the building is gorgeous. I loved every aspect of this place because even though it is a Cancer treatment facility, it doesnt have a dismal feeling in it. Even patients are smiling. The doctors and nurses are very nice and have a great bedside manner. Overall I am happy i found this place.

Very upset today with the pharmacy at John Theurer Cancer Center. There was a backup of waiting to see my doctor; apologies were given. When I had to set up my next cat scan, the form had the wrong doctor's name. So when I went to the pharmacy, this caused a delay in receiving the medicine. I was told at the pharmacy that they would take care of it. I waited another half hour and still no medicine; I was informed that they were still waiting for doctor's approval. I went back up to the doctor's offices. I spoke with the receptionist and she called the doctor's office. I was informed that it was called down. I then went down to pharmacy and told the pharmacy that the office sent the approval. I was informed it would take a minute to receive it, and know sooner that it was said the computers at the pharmacy went down. I had to wait another forty-five minutes. I was there at John Theurer today a total of five hours and fifteen minutes. Something needs to be done with the scheduling. I don't like the fact that I was picking up my medicine before the test. In the past I would arrive at the imaging place two hours earlier to drink the medicine. Every time I have to pick the medicine at John Theurer Cancer Center pharmacy, I always have a problem. Lately I feel like it is a cattle call place with no feelings.

I think the doctors are very knowledgeable the best around! However you wait awhile to meet with dr. After that you wait longer for your treatment. You can be waiting over an hour or two in a chair with an IV in ur arm. The nurses are amazing, I actually feel bad for them bc they are waiting around for the Meds to come up too. Then miraculously all the meds come up at once and the nurses have to run around trying to get everyone going. Just a bit crazy especially when the drs know what meds should be given way before we arrive.

Great doctors!wonderful nurses! Very friendly and welcoming. We are with Dr.David Seagal. He is a greatest doctor in treating multiple myeloma cancer. Very clean up to date facility . Waiting area is great, jigsaw puzzle, boad games, coffe mashine ,cookes, botels of water, crackers. ...all free. We came with kids one time, they had a blast sitting in that room. Short wait, lab takes 5 min.Thay have everything you may need to get better! We drive over 2 hours just to be here, but it worth every bit of it!
