Falmer Sports Complex is well equipped for outside sports, but parking is awful. Give yourself plenty of time to park before your session

The campus is very nice. Quite place to work and study. A lot of activities, good food, bar. It is located in a park, you can appreciate the local wildlife.

A prestigious university in Brighton. Lots of redevelopment works have taken place, and the campus is really coming together, some stunning pieces of architecture throughout

I am extremely disappointed about the support of this uni regarding job finding. Did my graduation and master in finance. Tried to find job in UK and India for over 3 yrs, but got no job, and this uni has no tension about this; they just want huge money frm int students. Quality of UK study has been very bad in the last decade; so try in other EU countries for good study.

The University of Sussex is a public research university located in Falmer, Sussex, England. Its campus is surrounded by the South Downs National Park and it is a short distance away from central Brighton. The University received its Royal Charter in August 1961, the first of the plate glass university generation,[5] and was a founding member of the 1994 Group of research-intensive universities.

Its easily one of the worst universities for students in the whole of the Uk. Just check out the ratings and reviews on student crowd :/ Teachers and lecturers dont care, campus and accomodation is old, very disappointing. Stay clear of this university.....

Despite of the very expensive international student fees, I received very little support on my MA course. Now I work there as an associate tutor. It is the most uninspiring work place I have been as most of other tutors including myself are depressed because of the lack of future prospect for promotion and the unstable fixed-term contract. We don't even know how many hours are there next year, a week before the term starts, yet requested to give our availability 6 months in advance when there is no payment over the summer. I wonder what all the expensive students fees are spend on. If they want to 'change' their school and reputation, increasing the number of students, they need to change their attitude towards the tutors as we have the most contacts with the students. Students do not need more technology than they already have. They need quality human contacts and real care, which could only be guaranteed by treating us tutors better.

Very nice university, huge and with many green spaces. It has a supermarket inside where you can buy everything you need and also a shop that is nice because it sells sweaters with university's logos. The rooms in the dormitory are clean and tidied.

For 9250 a year it would be extremely appreciated if it wouldn't take 10minutes to log into a computer and print off one page. Absolutely ridiculous.

I've finished my first year here and I love it, a friendly and beautiful campus, a great night life close to campus. The campus has a great gym at the top of a woody hill. Of course there's also the fact that it pretty much borders the South Downs National Park. I can't speak for all departments, but I've found the physics department to be excellent, and to have a positive and relaxed atmosphere.

I spent an amazing 8 weeks here over a summer as an undergrad. The campus is beautiful and the rolling green hills around it are just awesome. Quick bus ride or taxi to Brighton and all it/s delicious restaurants, fun nightlife and great shopping.

Will admit my bias upfront. Undergraduate and postgraduate done here. Loved it. Simple as. Course and department (physics) top marks, Uni facilities top marks, sports included in that, accommodation and family feel top marks, teaching quality top marks, ease for cyclists brilliant, town fantastic for nightlife day life culture variety etc. Very glad to have spent my time here. It's a beautiful and friendly place. Shame everything ain't that cheap, but it ain't London at least!! 5* uni

An amazing uni in an amazing locality with amazing staff. Couldn't get more homely than this uni. The library culture is rich here, seminars and lectures are enjoyable and the support is tremendous from tutors. Moreover the sports, clubs and societies never cease to amaze you.

I don't recommend this university even though it's world ranking looks good. The real thing is that ranking can be upgraded by spending a lot of money to the qs or times higher education, and british universities like this one invest a lot of money to just maintain good ranking. If u choose british university, u have to be very careful because a good rank doesn't mean that its education system is really that good. Actually, they focus on ranking to attract students from poor countries who have not good analytical skill. By just seeing the so called RANKING, these students are easily attracted and spend a lot of money to these kinds of universities whose main purpose is just business. On the other hand, germany and norway charge no tuition fee but their education system is excellent. And many other eu countries' tuition fee is very low but education is very good, so, i suggest non-eu students to choose other countries. Another way they try to convince the international students is that they tell them about the placement after completion of student and that they have 98% employment rate. But, believe that this is a big LIE!. They know that many international can easily spend a lot of money in these types of universities just after seeing this type of placement news. Just think one thing, you don't even get a simple basic clerical job in your own country, so how u can expect good corporate job in a highly developed country just because u have their master degree.Getting a good job and earning good money depend on your skill and ability. If you don't know the work or if your result is bad, why will the employer give u placement and good salary each month, is there any logic?? Even in the top companies in the world (facebook, google microsoft, amazon..), there are many employees who just have a simple diploma or even from other background, but they do job there and earn a lot of money because they have skill. It's surprising that even a lot of native students in UK don't want to spend a lot of money to these kinds of education, instead, they choose germany or other countries where tuition fee is very low. If these british students are very careful about their investment, so why non-eu people should spend a lot of money in a wrong place??? If you see their admission requirement, u will notice that it's very easy (they just want a 2.2 which is very low score and also a low IELTS score), and my question, how the admission requirement of such a good ranked university can be so easy. The answer is that they just want to get weak students who are academically poor and they want to earn a lot of money in the name of education from these students. If the education system is really good, the admission requirement should have been more rigid. If u want to get admission in a similar ranked university in Germany, us or canada, u have to have a very good result with a good GMAT score etc. So, I suggest the non-eu to spend your money in a good place. Don't be brainwashed. And one more thing, British economy is highly dependent on money from education business, so, whenever, their economy is in a declining position, they will lessen the student visa requirement and lessen the university admission requirement to get more and more students. Remember, their main target is the students of India, pakistan, bangladesh because they know very well that the students from these countries generally lack analytical ability and these countries have a lot of ready-made weak students who can easily be convinced by London/UK branding or so called university ranking and these students are also very emotional, so they can easily be brainwashed. Many students choose UK because its admission is very easy, probably the easiest in the world, but no benefit comes without cost. Here, although admission requirements are easy, the tuition fee is very high, lack of enough scholarship for international students and poor quality of education. So, I advice non-eu students, especially indians, not to get trapped..

A beautiful campus. There aren't many like it out there. The brick and concrete aesthetic can take a while to get used to (It took me several months) and for some it's a dealbreaker. Coffee sold on-campus is an acquired taste. During the spring and summer the campus is shockingly beautiful with wildflowers, daffodils and everything lush and green.

The poorest looking university campus I’ve ever seen in the U.K. All other U.K. universities look so posh and modern. Buildings are old, rotten and boring. Could you pamper your students please. Follow other universities as to what they’re doing. Modernise , put up some glass buildings and library could do with some cosy swivel chairs instead of the canteen plastic chairs you have. Yuck !!
