One of the top universities in the world and for good reason. To begin with, the campus is breathtaking, and the atmosphere is amazing. Just walking through the campus is an experience in itself as you take in the modern as well as old school design of the buildings in different areas of the campus. The facilities as well as teaching and learning techniques that you'll receive here is really what takes it to the top however. World class teaching facilities and staff are what manage to keep the reputation of this university so high, and they do not dissapoint. A marvellous university with some of the best learning potential in the whole world. A must visit or if you're lucky enough to study here a great opportunity.

Cambridge is a university city and the county town of Cambridgeshire, England, on the River Cam approximately 55 miles (89 km) north of London. At the United Kingdom Census 2011, the population of the Cambridge built-up area (which is larger than the remit of Cambridge City Council) was 158,434 including 29,327 students.Cambridge became an important trading centre during the Roman and Viking ages, and there is archaeological evidence of settlement in the area as early as the Bronze Age. The first town charters were granted in the 12th century, although modern city status was not officially conferred until 1951.

By the late 12th century, the Cambridge area already had a scholarly and ecclesiastical reputation, due to monks from the nearby bishopric church of Ely. However, it was an incident at Oxford which is most likely to have led to the establishment of the university: three Oxford scholars were hanged by the town authorities for the death of a woman, without consulting the ecclesiastical authorities, who would normally take precedence (and pardon the scholars) in such a case, but were at that time in conflict with King John. Fearing more violence from the townsfolk, scholars from the University of Oxford started to move away to cities such as Paris, Reading, and Cambridge. Subsequently, enough scholars remained in Cambridge to form the nucleus of a new university when it had become safe enough for academia to resume at Oxford. In order to claim precedence, it is common for Cambridge to trace its founding to the 1231 charter from Henry III granting it the right to discipline its own members (ius non-trahi extra) and an exemption from some taxes; Oxford was not granted similar rights until 1248. A bull in 1233 from Pope Gregory IX gave graduates from Cambridge the right to teach "everywhere in Christendom". After Cambridge was described as a studium generale in a letter from Pope Nicholas IV in 1290,[23] and confirmed as such in a bull by Pope John XXII in 1318, it became common for researchers from other European medieval universities to visit Cambridge to study or to give lecture courses

I have visited the University of Cambridge many times in the past few years and did a work project there (many years ago). Always enjoy it, although there has been very limited access over the past year due to lockdown restrictions. Looking forward to its doors fully opening again.

The University of Cambridge (legally, The Chancellor, Masters, and Scholars of the University of Cambridge) is a collegiate research university in Cambridge, United Kingdom. Founded in 1209[9] and granted a royal charter by King Henry III in 1231, Cambridge is the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world's fourth-oldest surviving university.[10] The university grew out of an association of scholars who left the University of Oxford after a dispute with the townspeople.[11] The two English ancient universities share many common features and are often referred to jointly as Oxbridge.Cambridge is formed from a variety of institutions which include 31 semi-autonomous constituent colleges and over 150 academic departments, faculties and other institutions organised into six schools. All the colleges are self-governing institutions within the university, each controlling its own membership and with its own internal structure and activities. All students are members of a college. Cambridge does not have a main campus, and its colleges and central facilities are scattered throughout the city. Undergraduate teaching at Cambridge is organised around weekly small-group supervisions in the colleges – a feature unique to the Oxbridge system. These are supported by classes, lectures, seminars, laboratory work and occasionally further supervisions provided by the central university faculties and departments. Postgraduate teaching is provided predominantly centrally. Cambridge University Press, a department of the university, is the oldest university press in the world and currently the second largest university press in the world. Cambridge Assessment, also a department of the university, is one of the world's leading examining bodies and provides assessment to over eight million learners globally every year. The university also operates eight cultural and scientific museums, including the Fitzwilliam Museum, as well as a botanic garden. Cambridge's libraries, of which there are 116, hold a total of around 16 million books, around nine million of which are in Cambridge University Library, a legal deposit library. The university is home to, but independent of, the Cambridge Union – the world's oldest debating society. The university is closely linked to the development of the high-tech business cluster known as 'Silicon Fen'. It is the central member of Cambridge University Health Partners, an academic health science centre based around the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. In the fiscal year ending 31 July 2019, the central university, excluding colleges, had a total income of £2.192 billion, of which £592.4 million was from research grants and contracts.[12] At the end of the same financial year, the central university and colleges together possessed a combined endowment of over £7.1 billion and overall consolidated net assets (excluding 'immaterial' historical assets) of over £12.5 billion.[15] By both endowment size and consolidated assets, Cambridge is the wealthiest university in the United Kingdom.[16] It is a member of numerous associations and forms part of the 'golden triangle' of English universities. Cambridge has educated many notable alumni, including eminent mathematicians, scientists, politicians, lawyers, philosophers, writers, actors, monarchs and other heads of state. As of October 2020, 121 Nobel laureates, 11 Fields Medalists, 7 Turing Award winners and 14 British prime ministers have been affiliated with Cambridge as students, alumni, faculty or research staff. University alumni have won 194 Olympic medals.

The entire staff including the director is always there for you every step of the way. I loved the Hands-on instructions. A special thanks to Maria in the Career Center she will help you with your resume and assist in finding Job opportunities for you, like in my case I was able to find a Job 1 day after the last day of school. I am so glad I choose Cambridge University to train me for my future.

Diverse buildings belong to this establishment. From their Senate house, museums, botanical gardens, university library, teaching departments and colleges and sports fields. Colleges being the most interesting regarding their architecture. Some colleges are placed along the bank of the River Cam. Punting is great fun, or visit the colleges and admire their gardens or chapels. There is so much to see you could spend a lifetime here just sight seeing.

I had a long dream of going to Cambridge University and that was fulfilled last month. One of my relatives has helped me to move around the university. We took a shuttle service to enter inside the campus then we walked. It was a nice experience to walk on a rainy afternoon. We visited some of the most famous colleges in Cambridge and few chapels.

University of Cambridge is really scenic. The weather cooperated which helped the walk. I came here for a walk and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. I also took a tour on the canoe on the river. Just pleasant and relaxing. Staff and people in general were really friendly and willing to help. Hopefully, in the future I can come here and do my schooling.

It's the university attended by Isaac Newton, Prince Charles and James Bond. The atom was first split here. The structure of DNA was described here. If you get in, you might be going home to the sound of semi-distant bells as you walk down Senate House Passage. Nothing compares (except some bits of Oxford). One of very few places in the world that is as good as can be imagined.

Gorgeous city, stayed overnight for 3 days at Magdalene College and had the experience of living like a student. The accommodation and food offered was of extremely high quality, and the food offered in the halls are open to public reservations for an incredible price. The University itself is a grandious place that reminisces its long history. Don't forget to enjoy a punting trip, and to visit as many colleges as you can while you are there.

WOW that was our main reaction when we saw it. Just magnificent architecture. Can you believe that it's actually a school?!? Guess you can only find it here in Cambridge :) We didn't manage to go in due to a lack of time. But seeing from the outside, we know that once you're inside there would be more magical feeling. So definitely a must visit you when you're in Cambridge.

As everybody knoWs about this university ,it's very famous for quality education . It's one of the most renowned and prestigious university in the world . It's very hard to get admission in thiS university but if you get in then believe me you're not gonna be the same person , you will have the highest job probability although university has nothing to do with talent but then also Cambridge is Cambridge and nothing can be better then Cambridge ????. Besides quality education ,You'll fall in love with the weather and the beauty of Cambridge is unmatchable . But it's true even though you get admission into this university you should have enough money to pay the fees as it's very expensive ,its my dream university but due to my financial problems i think I'll not be able to fulfill My dream ????????

What a lovely place to visit again. It’s full of history, culture and energy. So many places to see and do. Easy to walk around, cycle, seat in the park or go punting along the river. Places to eat or just shop for souvenir. Easier to get round on a bike. This is paid parking facility on the road, can pay an app. I found the JustPark app is cheaper than RingGo.

I toured Cambridge University several years ago and found it quite impressive. Today I see a modern structure built to house the law faculty and I'm extremely disappointed. Architects should have considered the medieval surroundings and design a building that impresses upon the psychology for those who first see it. It should state, "I belong here!" What it says to me is "Where do I fit?" Yes, modern technology and materials should be used to construct the building BUT it must embrace the medieval designs representing Cambridge University wholly. Out of 5, my rating is 2.5.
