Had to go into a&e at Guildford this morning, I have never attended the hospital before, but would like to say the doctor and nurses were wonderful. After booking in I was seen almost straight away. I was looked after from start to discharge and was reassured throughout. Great team. Thank you ????????????

The best free health care I have ever experienced. I had a very serious disease that if you don't cure it 20% of people die and this hospital cured most of it in a week. They provided me with all the antibiotics and even made one to suit me. The only negative is it's food. Obviously they have to provide food for loads of people and I understand that they can't make good food for everyone so I would either go to M&S or Costa and eat something there. You are also allowed to order food so I ended up using deliveroo to order my self food once a day. The breakfast options are not that good. You can have weetabix, rice crispys and toast. I would suggest having breakfast and after ordering a take away.

The A&E has just been renovated. Even though I spent 5 hours in the A&E, in pain waiting to be seen, it was bearable. Dr. Sameer Khan, one of the senior doctors that night, made me feel at ease and talked time through the procedures. He was very gentle and respectful, which it an effortless experience. Overall, if you’re going to spend a night in the A&E anyway, this is the best one.

Goood staff but the hospital is seriously in need of more! very understaffed! people typically wait for 2,4 even 6 hours to get treated.. so that's a bit sad. Even when you come in with an ambulance, it's the same story. Every time I've been here i develop headaches and as soon as I go to ask for painkillers they call me in. Very weird, though coincidentally funny.

I had an orthopaedic surgery recently at the RSCH and I can say everyone from the nurses to the surgeon were incredible. I felt very reassured as they were there to talk me through any concerns I had. Also, a shoutout has to be made to Caroline (admin) who helped me through the booking process and dealing with any queries I have.

I am nothing but shocked by the behaviour of one of the consultant ophthalmologists, Anne Gilvarry. I was attending the eye clinic with a relative and saw this doctor shout at the nurses and student doctors and she was aggressive to many. I was scared for the people who she works with, such harassment should be reported and as a patient in the waiting room, it was embarrassing to watch. All the staff looked like they were rushed off their feet and this lady was just bawling at everyone. Please can her behaviour be investigated and put right! Transferring our care to Frimley asap

I was admitted via emergency last week amongst so many covid patients. They were very thorough to protect me and others from this virus. Despite being fully stretched they managed to get all the tests done and effectively treat the clot that had occurred on my lung. I am just so thankful for their care and diligence. They are working flat out and yet they still were so friendly. I'm glad it's my local hospital.

Refusing to treat someone with a broken neck because they do not wish to take a covid test is called medical apartheid and tyranny. Shame on you! You have a duty of care. What happened to this country?

Contrary to other reviews, this Hospital has no more of a parking problem than several other Hospitals I regularly attend, although you will need to allow plenty of extra time for parking, if attending an outpatient clinic appointment. There are many bus routes available, from the bus stops opposite the main entrance. Disabled parking for A&E, EAU and AEC is difficult, not close enough to the entrance & if unaccompanied by a second person or carer, is particularly challenging if bringing your belongings with you for admission to Hospital as an inpatient. Facilities are good, clean, modern & well equipped. There are several accessible disabled toilets, although the Hospital would definitely benefit from a branch of Boots or WH Smith in addition to M&S and Costa Coffee, as there is currently nowhere to purchase cosmetics or toiletries if admitted unexpectedly & due to the COVID-19 visiting restrictions in place at the time of writing this (September '20) it is difficult for items to be brought in from home, although not impossible. The medical care and staff are very good across the board.

Disgraceful doctors won’t treat a patient with a broken neck because he doesn’t want the EO swab pressed into his brain! Shame on you!

I've just left the royal Surrey, I'm traumatized after my experience. I'm not sure if I will ever get over this . I was brought in by ambulance on recommendation of 111 . I waited approximately 16 hours for an xray and a scan with a suspected DVT . I was in a cubicle with the door shut for the first 7 hours , no buzzer , no water , hadn't seen a doctor , frightened and sobbing and alone for 7 hrs . Then I was moved to another ward , again alone in a cubicle, being largely ignored, no offer of water or a cup of tea or food . In bed in my clothes . Unable to stand with a swollen painful leg I could not wash or change my clothes . I cried a lot but was ignored . Eventually after 14 hours I called out for water, my first drink and it was only half full in a tiny 4" high polystyrene cup !! About 2 mouthfuls !! I complained through my crying and vulnerability and then I was offered a sandwich. The nurses didn't care about me , when the porter eventually came to get me 16 hours later both he and the nurse expected me to jump out of bed and into a wheelchair with a leg I couldn't move or stand or walk on. They had no idea about my condition !! Maybe if one nurse had bothered to say "how are you feeling " in that 16 hours they would have known I couldn't stand up un aided . Vulnerable patients left to cry , no water , no food , no care that's my traumatic experience of the royal Surrey hospital. The best part was finally getting to the toilet with the help of my husband on the way out. .

After weeks of tooth pain and unable to find a dentist to help me due to the lock down, I was contacted by a Guildford Hospital dentist and invited in straight away. Within a few hours and an x Ray two of their dentists Amy and Etienne removed the tooth. Wonderful and compassionate service. Not life threatening but very painful.

Was there on the night 26.-27.July 2020. As a private health care assistant for my client second time in this month. Parking is FREE at the moment. ***** Wonderful staff, mostly Philippians, they are so helpful, professional, sweet, kind, never complaining about anything, doing theirs jobs as from the bottom of the heart, so easy and fluid, and theirs work is one of the hardest dealing with all of us clients and patients with so many personalized individual demands, special needs and wishes. I must emphasise few names there: first contact: wonderful Philippine Klaudette! Short hair sweet nurse, wouldn't know exactly what is her title there, but she is remarkable. Was working until 22h. Then Edita, again Philippine sweet and bubbly character dear lady nurse, managing to get blood out of my client with lots of care not leaving the bruises and all that mess that sometimes happened with inexperienced medical staff as last time we were there few weeks back. As I used to work in the rehabilitation hospital in England I do know how hard shifts are and how challenging must be working in any kind of the hospital. They do have constant lack of staff as usually is in the hospitals and they do manage attention to every single person who comes in with lots of care and concerns. Then, someone who is worth of all possible compliments......absolutely altruistic, empathetic, considerate, kind, good vibes extraordinary doctor Mathew Baker! British, in his 30ties or so, he was attending us last time we were there as well, he remembered my client immediately, he did everything possible for my client, he is the type of the person you really want to be taken care of from. If only all doctors in the world would be like him the visit to the hospital for all patients wouldn't be a nightmare as usually is. He is one of the kind young doctors should look up to do job as he does. It's something natural in him, you can not fake it. There is not enough of words to describe how good he is, treating us, my client in urgent need and me as his health care assistant so respectful, friendly, professional and effective. Well done all of you on the ground floor on the admition ward, I don't know exactly the name of it, but is the place where paramedics are taking you with the ambulance van. 4 stars instead of 5, because of certain issues with EAU ground ward, as because of the behaviour and treatment of the night nurse in charge, Philippine again, left handed as I am as well, WITHOUT her name badge on her uniform so I wouldn't know her name, and to be honest I don't want to know, as she was being insensitive towards special needs of my client who needs 24/7 constant care and is one-to-one patient, treating me disrespectful and not really wanted to understand the special needs of my client, making me like I am lying something about our last visit, being hostile towards me, totally ignoring immediate care my client has to be looked after, putting him in the same line as any other patients there, WITHOUT special needs status, and none of those patients there were one-to-one status. Although the other night carers of this ward, under her "boots" were kind, interested in what my client needs, doing theirs best again. Her excuses would be, the policy of the hospital, bla bla.... she acted totally insensitive and rude. She ruined all the good feelings about our visit this night. There was another doctor, British, William, in his 30ties, tall with the glasses, he managed to calm down all that agresivity and hostility in this particular nurse in charge and he was very professional and convincing my client about the benefits of my client staying overnight there, this particular doctor did all what was in his power to calm down bad spirit and toxic stings of this particular nurse. I would recommend her to go to looooong vacation to calm down her bad emotions. She definitely has some personal issues she is unable to deal with so she is taking out on the visitors and patients with her poisonous behaviour. Not good. Sorry.

I use the outpatient departments a lot due to a long term condition, and must say that although they are incredibly busy, you can see that everyone does the best they can. There are one or two consultants who can be a little curt, but that may just be down to the number of people they see in a day. The parking is incredibly expensive however, which is not justifiable when you have to drive round for 20 mins or more to find a space.

Casualty for my 92 year old mom was excellent, from the senior doctors to the most junior people there. The positive, can do, and kind and attentive attitude of all the staff was a real credit to this wonderful hospital. My mother also went into Ewhurst ward.....here likewise, the treatment and all round joined up teamwork of the doctors, occupational therapy, physios. the nurses in charge and the more junior nurses and auxiliary staff was excellent. There was service with a smile, love and caring for those who need it, and the visitors received the same positive attitude. Thank you for working so hard to provide 5 star treatment.

The Maternity service at the Royal Surrey is amazing I can’t fault them. Start to finish during my complicated pregnancy and delivery I felt I was cared for by expert staff on all levels. After my son was born I had support with feeding. I was amazed that there are also midwife clinics running at weekends to provide an uninterrupted schedule of review if needed. Phenomenal service thank you, I’m eternally grateful. Second 5 Star review for A&E went on the advice of 111 for a minor injury. Was seen by the triage team within half an hour and problem sorted within the hour. Forever grateful to the amazing staff of the NHS at the royal Surrey.

This hospital saved my life a few years ago. I spent 10 weeks here in total going from ICU through to a general ward over time. The Drs, nurses and support staff were just so lovely nothing was to much trouble. Christmas was made special by the staff and the Salvation army band. Thanks guys I owe you my life

I got an appointment quickly after a referral from my doctor for a minor skin complaint. The hospital (or what I saw of it) appears clean and reasonably pleasant. My biggest problem with the place is parking - woefully inadequate! I circled the car park fruitlessly for 45 minutes and ended up missing my appointment. To their credit, once I had eventually parked sneakily nearby, the consultant (Dr. Wong) did actually agree to see me anyway.

RSCH is very average looking and needs a good coat of paint. Beware the extortionate car parking prices which are officially the highest in England. Blue badge holders have to pay which is wrong in my opinion. Tip - if you can walk from Tesco park there do but be careful not to overstay as the wardens appear like vultures especially at Xmas time! If you can't walk far get a relative to drop you off and wait in Tesco or at the nearby Park and Ride.
