As hospitals go it's pretty good - modern and clean. What drives me mad is that anyone and everyone parks in the disabled spaces, with no badge, and the hospital don't enforce it. All you get is a sticker on the window, nothing gets done! What is the point in having disabled spaces if anyone can use them. Rant over, but it's a nightmare!

Wife told by NH24 to go and get her hand x-rayed after a fall! and 3 days of severe pain, they got her a appointment for 4 o'clock, she went, and waited till 5.30, then was told it was another 3 hour wait! she just left upset! thanks for nothing, University Hospital Wishaw!

Just spent a week here and cannot express my appreciation highly enough. The standard of care is amazing, cleanliness beyond reproach. The ambulance staff, nurses, ancillary staff and doctors display professionalism, compassion and understanding. The nurses really are angles.

Being the only hospital in quite a large area, it has to service a lot of people. Thankfully the amenities are modern, and the layout is well sign posted. Parking is usually an issue here, even though there are quite a few car parks. It's well serviced by public transport. Covid restrictions are quite strict, for obvious reasons, and appear to be enforced to a reasonable degree.

I was admitted to Wishaw general hospital on the 10th of February and was diagnosed of having Covid 19. The Doctor’s and nurses were amazing, especially one of the nurses who I want to give a special thank you for the care she gave me, her name was Mary Regards Jess Haddow

Very good when you eventually get there! I had to wait nine hours for an ambulance?

Was in for 5 weeks and overall service was ok. Nurses were fantastic. Downside is limited parking and experience if 1 or 2 allied health professionals.

Just a suggestion but they could do better at giving directions to people when they are leaving, it’s not so easy and my mother was a bit unsure when she was leaving the other day.

Been taken to this hospital on 2occassions under emergency treatment and found the service to be far superior than private in London where I recently moved from. Staff are first class and nothing is too much for them . They ensure you eat and drink and encourage you to eat . They are always cheerful and take time to listen to your concerns

I would just like to express my gratitude to the fantastic and speedy treatment I received at accident and emergency at University Hospital Wishaw on Friday 28th February 2020. I would also like to give exceptional recognition to Dr Patrick (I didn't catch his surname), his bedside manner and expertise were second to none.

Good enough hospital, I came early for an appointment and got seen early. I’ve only been here a couple of times so I can’t speak for all the departments, but the ones I’ve been to were efficient and the doctors and nursing staff were friendly. Leave plenty of time when coming if you are driving as the parking here can be an absolute nightmare. If you park in an illegal space you run the risk of getting a nasty sticker on your window. They operate 24 hour visiting hours as I understand, which is why the parking is quite so bad.

Facilities clean. Restaurant food not great. Xray dept process very efficient. Car parking can be hectic during busier times with cars having stickers placed on windows if not parked in a space that isn't available. These are a nightmare to remove and are a hazard for driving. No signage seen to confirm stickers will be placed to warn first time visitors. Maternity triage accessed via front door and rear door but located at furthest point along corridor on first floor. Maternity access for staff only. Maternity triage wait times can be extremely excessive, no water fountain in waiting room, assessment rooms are large enough for multiple beds but for single use only. Would be useful to add a multi bed room /seating similar to day assessment for anyone needing connection to drips etc to reduce wait times.

The staff Ward 7 (Mr McGovern and his team of doctors, Staff Nurses, Nurses and Domestics) on behalf of my husband David and sister-in-law Linda, I would like to thank you ALL for the care that was given to my mother-in-law Janet (Nettie Hamilton) over the weeks that she was in your care until she passed away. Each and everyone of you showed so much care and compassion to the patients of Ward 7. Also to Ali, Harry and the Palative Care Team, we also send our thanks for the time spent with ourselves and our mum. We will never forget all your kindness that was extended to us at a very sad time.

Horrendous! Don’t bother going. Went in due to severe pain and wasn’t even checked in the area of the pain and told to see a counsellor. It’s an absolute joke, the nurse I saw basically told me I’m crazy!!!

Absolute joke. Why we continue to pay for this shambles is beyond me, the Scottish NHS has failed. Waiting in A&E with a heart condition and with chest pain etc. Waiting for over 4 hours, seeing people with ankle injuries go ahead of me. Utterly ridiculous!

Just returned from visiting a very poorly relative in Wishaw General and feel so reassured that she is receiving the very best possible care by such friendly and dedicated staff. The hospital is spotless, bright and cheerful. The level of care is exceptional, well done to all the staff on Ward 9. It was also refreshing that car park was free of charge, such a difference from my local hospital in Coventry where parking charges are £10.00 per day.

Customer service @their central booking office is a disgrace, to date they have resolutely refused to answer the phone. I have now been holding on for 30 min. (NOT THE FIRST TIME), however I have now reached no. 7 in the que, a personal best, so that's progress. You are a joke!

I have always meant to thank the wonderful staff for their amazing care and support during both my babies births. Their professionalism and amazing health care made, especially my firsts, prolonged and complex birth, an amazing and safe experience. They were so clear about the physical risks but also ensured my needs and wishes were met. Also an amazing support to my husband and mum who were my birth partners. They were also so supportive post birth listening to my fears, supporting when i was exhausted and great breatfeeding suppport. Thank you and keep up the amazing work you do. Catherine Wintet

I met with nothing but courtesy and consideration throughout my visit to the day surgery unit, the awesome skills of anaesthetists, surgeons and nursing staff have left me,two days after my operation, firmly on the road to recovery, not usually stuck for words but,I Am Struggling to find the phrases which would convey the depth of my gratitude to everyone who went the extra mile to ensure my comfort and safety.Wishaw general is a real jewel on our doorstep and the caring people who work there, the true "superstars"of our society, for whom I have the highest regard

Doctors are mostly walking through the hospital and doing nothing. Patients for example with broken bones have to wait for few hours in pain. It's unacceptable.

Facilities are clean and staff are friendly. It's a smallish hospital but has all the essentials. Easy access and large car parks too. Free parking by the way which is a major plus.

The least someone could do when a 17 year old phones for advice as her mum is very ill is at least help her but no! I’m appalled by the way this was treated, I was worried to death about my mum but she insisted that I didn’t call the ambulance so this was my last hope! Utterly disgusted and I think the staff need to be taught how to handle situations better as I’m disgusted with the way I was treated!! Thank goodness my mum is now ok for the now! Absolute waste of time!

Typical case of too many jobs not enough staff. Poor service is reflected in this. 99% of staff there are faultless and trying their best. Good old tories are letting it bleed to death.

I was in for a knee replacement op. Every member of staff I came in contract with, be it pre-assessment clinic and surgeon were all extremely efficient and caring. Never had any reason for complaint. The food is not great, but not bad enough to complain about.
