Absolutely dreadful. They don't know what they're doing. My daughter was under the Dental Hospital for a hereditary condition that her dentist couldn't treat. She had her first appointment 5 years ago, where she was photographed and told she'd need to wait for 2 years for treatment to begin. She had an appointment 2 years later and was photographed and told she would have to wait for a further year or so. She went again in November 2020 and was told she would have to wait. It seemed that each appointment has no record of what was in fact discussed at previous appointments and she was just a guinea pig for students to look at and photograph. So we decided to go down the private route for my daughter's treatment and this has commenced. Now this past weekend my daughter received a letter from the dental hospital telling her that she might damage her mouth wearing braces unsupervised! They actually seem to think they have started her treatment! An absolute shambles of an organisation. Best avoided.

The receptionist staff are very friendly and helpful always welcoming and usually have a smile for all the patients even the awkward ones and the dentist's and support staff are top notch and don't mind explaining everything and anything that the patients might have about any concerns that they might have.

Amazing! They took my 10 year olds two roots out with ease, he was calm and didn't get upset after a awful experience at our own dentist, they are lovely and I can't praise them enough.

The staff were friendly and professional. The Dr's and nurse was very courteous. Explained everything in detail and a pace people can understand. Dr Nazar and Dr Srinivasan were brilliant. Their dental, Thomas, dealt in an extremely friendly way with my son who going to be treated.

This has to be the worst experience of dentistry in my 38 years of living. I received sloppy work which left me needing emergency dental treatment 48hrs after visiting for a double tooth extraction. They left debris inside the socket and also snapped the root of the tooth during the extraction of what was supposed to be an easy extraction. I had this confirmed that the extraction was easy before i went in. I was promised sedation and booked in for sleep sedation which I waited 6 months for only to be told when I got there that there would be no anesthesia and If i chose to be re allocated i would have to wait a further 6 months or longer if lockdown came back. I was bullied into having a procedure I was not comfortable with and also to have a wisdom tooth out that did not need removing. I had to repeat to the nurse no my mind does not want this tooth taken 100% 15 or 16 and was still not taken seriously. Do not go here unless there is no other option. The work is sloppy and whilst most of the nurses are doing their best the dentists are judgemental and uncaring.

Superb First Class service. I am so impressed especially in current COVID crisis. Was at Whits end over the Easter Bank Holiday and contacted Orthodontist who's answer phone referred me to The BOS. I contacted them by Email and the University contacted me first thing Easter Monday. We were seen that day and Bravo all is now Well. Thank you Ann and Dave you know who you are!

The reception staff really need to be fired they don't treat patients with respect. Also whoever picks up the phone is the worst possible person they could hire - I've just been trying to call the orthodontics department and waited for almost 30 mins(!!) just to talk to the appointments person and when they finally picked up SHE CUT THE CALL immediately. I know because I heard the phone being picked up and put down. What kind of service is this. The actual dentists, orthodontists, nurses etc are lovely.

The Specialist nurse who seen my son today was excellent in her care,consideration and going the extra mile.Once she was aware my adult son is on autism spectrum the Traffic light information could be passed onto the next treatment plan he has.Dentist should have passed that information so staff would know.Better still start at Reception till end.

This place is amazing my daughter had her braces here and the service was fantastic. The difference its made is unbelievable. How very lucky are we to have a FREE service like this . And yes at times its hard to get through on he phone but i really cant see that that is a good reason to complain . No complaints at all from me Thankyou to everyone who helped make my girl happy with her smile.

I am a very nervous patient, the dentist, student and nurse put me at ease right away with there understanding and empathy. The student followed instructions from the dentist perfectly which really resulted in complete perfection and no pain. It was quick too. I was informed throughout and at length explained post operative care. The nurse was fully invested in my being at ease. Unbelievable care and attentence throughout. Thank you so much

Friendly enough staff but absolutely useless., complete waste of time. Purely there to tick boxes to say they have seen you, don't do what is requested (even from GP). Patronising dentist trying to fob me off telling me what I am/not experiencing, I who I'll be suing if this turns nasty!!!

It's a shame they never answer their phone and mess up appointments and paperwork because the dental staff are absolutely fantastic. When I finally got my appointment the dentist was great. I got seen in time. I got an X-ray the same day and seen again in time. Would have been a full 5 star review had the admin side not let them down

Took my Daughter to her appointment. Department for children's clinic is on the second floor in the building very easy to find reception and was attended to very quickly. Clinic is an open room with other patients, not a private room. Dental petitioner informed me that they do NOT sedate there patients fully to extract teeth.

After paying for an NHS dentist to do root canal treatment, he could not complete so he sent me to this hell hole. That was 6 months ago. Ive been there 3 times. Made to wait for hours upon hours. Passed from one student to another who don't seem to know what they are doing. And absolutely nothing has been done. They do not care that you have to take a day off work. Drive 40 miles. Just fobb you off and tell you to come back in 3 months. It's ran so badly it's an absolute joke.

Shocking admin, really is disgraceful. When you FINALLY get through after hours on hold, the staff are rude and don't listen to what you have to say and just talk like robots. I've not had a proper conversation with any of the admin staff there. It's not on at all when in horrendous pain that's stopping you eating and drinking AND they've been made aware of this! Not excited to see what the medical staff are like if I ever get an appointment.

I just want to say before anything else the actual Dental staff who dealt with me were wonderful. I never had any trouble with them. However the reception staff... You always end up on hold which is expected but when your waiting for 25 minutes and the phone was put down on you... you can understand why people get frustrated. I rung up again and managed to get through, the woman who answered was incredible rude a, I explained what was wrong and she didn't understand and got extra snippy. I had to explain the same thing at least 5 times. Eventually she understood and sorted me out but the woman did not need to treat me like an idiot. Then there was the phone call I just had. I was put through to the department I needed straight away (miracle) and one of the receptionists answered and asked me to hold while go get who I needed to speak to. The phone was left on I could hear everything going on, receptionists chatting to each other and typing on the computer. 40 minutes. I was left waiting for 40 minutes. And then they put the phone down on me again... Tried ringing through again, got put through to the department but again put on hold. Sorry but this is not acceptable. I understand that the service is busy and the staff are overworked but it's no excuse to ignore patients and be rude.

I would highly recommend Dr. Matt also nurses Lisa and Mari( can't remember her name she works with Dr. Matt on the day) . My 4 yr old daughter who were always suffered from her front toothache was finally treated and removed successfully in children dental hospital. Consider her young age to remove her tooth when she was awake was very difficult. Especially after several attempts she started kicking off and even bite doctor, I was so embarrassed and going to gave up at the time. However, Dr. Matt was so patient and determined to calm my daughter down until the end with these two lovely and nice nursers. The team is so professional and helpful and we are so impressed and thank for all their hard work. Dr. Matt you are brilliant !!! Thanks a lot. My daughter is no longer suffer her front toothache now.

The staff are excellent. The quality of the dentistry is exceptional. This is a university hospital so some treatments are by students who have guidance from a fully trained teacher. The waiting room on my visit wasn't too busy although I know it can be overwhelmed at times. Everyone was seen to in the order they arrived then a judgement is made regarding if treatment is urgent. Some people were sent home. In total I was there for 4 hours but I never felt like I was waiting too long, I was just happy to be receiving help.

For those who doesn't have a dentist or can't afford one this is the dental practise to use. It is free, coordinated by student dentist and supervised by qualified dentist. Expect a large queue so it is advisable to set out very early in the morning.

Was having treatment with a student. Waiting to have root canal treatment, due to time constraints I had a temporary filling with a clean out and medicine inserted before covering. Add it was the end of term I was told my next appointment would be in 8 weeks time, if the pain got too bad then I was to go to the a&e department. 2 weeks later and in agony I arrived at the a&e early, 7.30am. A few others waiting, was hustled in and given a number. Triaged, bluntly told there would only be a quick fix. Only 5 patients were picked for treatment, the rest had to find somewhere else is of or return another day. Had an x-ray. Told they couldn't see anything and as a precaution I was given antibiotics and to resume treatment in a few weeks time.. still in pain. I waited 5 1/2 hours. I think the staff do a great job ( even I a couple were a bit short) and the system does not work with cuts and Tory destruction. I was basically fobbed off.

Excellent service!!! ... Arrive early around 7am and wait and chances are you'll be seen first or quickest...( But be prepared to wait as it gets very busy) Although they do make sure they treat the serious cases first, all staff are professional, and seriously go out there way to ensure you are comfortable and treated with respect I've paid private in the past ( emergency dentist) and the service was very disappointing, rubbish, and all they seemed to care about was the money and not the client or resolving the problem unless you fleshed the cash first... And didn't even do the job correctly to start off with This is the best service I've ever received! Excellent!! - Big thank you to everyone that help remove my tooth today and doing more then I could have expected, when you could have just given my painkillers and drained the fluid and told me come back another day, but you guys sorted the problem out so it wouldn't return ... Would like to give out names but sorry I cannot remember ... However ALL staff excellent and are credit to the profession. Thank you!!!!

Absolute shambles. I have spent hours upon hours on hold, most recently tonight then getting cut off just before closing time. Numerous calls each taking at least 30 minutes on hold, transferred to different departments, 4 times today, again on hold each time and had to explain the issue to each person, advised they have received my urgent referral but don't know where it is as "i'm not in the system", I was promised a call back but no one did, it's now 5 weeks and I still haven't been seen. Other reviews say the staff are great but JESUS sort the processes out it's an absolute NIGHTMARE!

Had loads of investigation done for an infected tooth under a front crown. They must have spent a fortune on scans, cone beam scan, consultancy, all in one department, then referred me on to another department for what I thought would be the operations, only to get another consultancy. At this point I called my dentist who referred to be to a private specialist. He did the op for me, two days later, for £200. Must have cost me over £200 in lost work time going to this place, just for these people to 'follow procedure's' If your procedure s leave people in pain you need to simplify your procedures!

I attended the Dental Hospital on Thursday 14th of Febuary because I was in agony with one particular tooth, the staff were amazing, from the receptionist, the triage nurse, Maria the Dentist, the dental nurse, the Radiologist (xray) to the Dental Surgeons who removed the offending tooth, they are all a credit to the hospital, I was pain free when I left and I am very grateful this hospital is there and the service is second to none.

Awful experience from the triage staff. I got there early and upon arriving the first thing i noticed was the waiting area was fairly empty compared to the big cues i have heard and read about. I was given a ticket number and a long questionnaire to fill out. I then had my number called out to be told i couldn't be seen without even asking my name or asking why i was even there in terms of what treatment i required or the severity of my pain. As i mentioned there was no massive cue the waiting area was literally not even half full yet i couldn't be seen at all with no reason whatsoever. Would highly advise anybody in serious pain to consider other options before this dental hospital.

Abit of waiting time but worth it as i was seen by petrina wood who has decided too work her magic and give me the smile i want despite my many health conditions she was thorough and made no doubt that there's alot of work too be done but shes willing too take the risk also the trainee staff who was working closely with her made me feel at ease and was very friendly i cant wait for the work too be completed so i feel half human again!!

Why on earth is it important to attend a clinic to learn how to look after your brace and oral hygiene when the brace won't be fitted for at least 12 months once surgery has finished? Very frustrating, taking more time out of school and off work. Crazy system. Feeling cross.
