I recently had a knee operation at the hospital. I was looked after and properly cared by the excellent staffs, nurses, and auxiliary staffs. The operation was done under the supervision of Mr Andrade. He was extremely helpful and showed total professionalism in taking me through the stages of the procedure, before, during and after the operation, After care was excellent and I felt relaxed in a very comfortable environment before leaving the hospital after three days. The physiotherapy facilities in the Mansion house are more than adequate and I’m following the chartered programme of exercises and attending the ‘knee’ classes to improve my mobility. The staffs were courteous and very helpful. The consultant was excellent and first class. For aftercare the gym facilities at the Mansion House are excellent with close supervision by a physiotherapist - certainly would recommend ‘knee classes’. Great facility for the X-ray in the Mansion House that is fast and efficient service.

Going for an operation is never the nicest thing to have to go through, I'd like to thank all the staff who looked after me from the receptionist through to the nurses, caterers, anaesthetists and my surgeon. They showed a considerable amount of care during my stay and I would certainly recommend the hospital.

I can highly recommend this hospital. After a general hospital in Kingston, the difference was like heaven and hell. All the staff was very polite, attentive and efficient, but without rush around. Pre-op and after care was just amazing. I would specifically recommend Dr Kuteesa for gyneacological procedures. Had a second laparoscopic surgery to remove endometriosis with him. Very professional. Even the scar is much less visible than the previous time and the recovery was quicker, despite of a much bigger op. Nurses were very knowledgable as well. Makes a world of a difference to feel being in reliable hands.

I recently had a one day operation at the hospital and all I can say is that the whole service was excellent. I was very nervous about this operation but all the staff were super friendly and helpful, making my stay as pleasant as possible. I really cannot thank everyone there enough.

One year ago I had surgery for a shoulder impingement. Mr Sforza and his team were amazing from start to finish and I am so grateful for their help. Sforza must be an artist as the surgery he's done was amazing and I just can't believe what a great job was done. My shoulder is now 100% better and I can't thank these guys enough. Genuinely life-changing for the better.

Just returned from a couple of operations carried out under general anesthetic at the Berkshire Independent .Very impressed with everything and everybody - from the receptionists, nurses, anesthetists, surgeon - the works - Lisa, Daniella, Janet, Helen, Neha, Jeniffer and Steve Foley to name a few - trying to think what comes to mind...professional, efficient, knowledgeable, charming, friendly, prompt, caring, understanding. Room was quiet and comfortable with everything to hand. Can't say more! ...and no this isn't an advert...

I had a spinal operation under Mr Shah and his team in May this year 2017. Absolutely everyone was brilliant checked on me all the time made sure I was comfortable. staff Where happy to sit and just talk through things over and over again. This hospital is 1 million times better than the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Staff are friendly and Mr Shah was a pleasure to meet he has done a wonderful job on my back and the scar..well what scar.. you can't see it.

Where to begin to describe the level of bad services? From the receptionist that acted like a automated call centre repeating a tape, to the nurse who looked at me like I was not there and the doctor whom I had to ask "doctor aren't you going to check this also ?" I was assured everything was ok and 5 days after that I had to visit royal Berkshire since I was getting worse. Most infuriating, I received a later, listing all the things I had told the doctor, I was all ready doing as treatment and allegedly he had consulted me to continue. Oh and an invoice for 200£. Did I mention the 15 days waiting time ?

I would put zero if I could! It was a nightmare. The hospital booked me for an appointment but they said I didn't have an appointment! I hated it! It also put me under allot of stress! Addendum - this was posted by my grandson without my knowledge! The problem was quickly resolved...

First time I have been a day patient at BIH and could not fault from the young lady who was on duty at reception at 6.50am, she was very welcoming. Then met with Helen, Christine, Ed and Mr Liss my consultant , they all explained things well and were very caring which made experience better, Well done all at BIH

Doesn't deal with Children... (Because they have 0 Paediatrician's). What's the point of a "Private Hospital" if that can't deal with the most important humans on the planet Children!!! But normal "Public Hospitals" can deal with them.. what a waste of a building.

NHS patient. Operated by Mr Pascal Liss on two occasions. I was treated exactly the same as a private patient even more than that like an old friend. All of the staff were absolutely lovely and helpful. Having this sort of treatment and comparing it to the normal NHS hospital there is really no comparison. It was beautifully clean and felt more like an hotel. I would give this hospital and all the staff ten stars if I could

Private patient. I received outstanding medical care from Mr Kumar and his surgical team. Whilst recovering on the ward I was looked after by superbly professional and caring nurses. This is medical care of the highest order. I believe it makes no difference at all whether patients are fee-paying private, or NHS referred. I am grateful.

Referred to this Hospital via NHS. Super kind and lovely people :) went to see a hip orthopaedic and need to come back for a little bit more research but I definitely don't mind :) ! This Hospital is the perfect example of how the hospitals should be!

Insist on a detailed quotation and keep all records of payments made. The accounts department came after me for an additional £225 FOUR YEARS after the original treatment. They were unable to provide a statement that made any sense but in the end were so persistent and threatening that I paid up. Chaotic accounting systems and very unethical behaviour. I'd urge anyone to think twice before using them.

If I could put zero stars I would!! Our original issue arose when we were booked to see Dr Vijayanand on Friday 1st December, for a Consultation for my partner via the Ramsay Health switchboard enquiry line - not only were we made to wait in reception for over 45 minutes but when we eventually saw someone it was the wrong Doctor. We were informed that Dr Vijayanand does not consult on Friday's and the Doctor we did see was for Bladder issues and not the field we were looking for or appointed to. Notes were taken and to be 'passed on' to Dr Vijayanand (supposedly). Myself and my partner took the day off for this! I am disgusted that a private institution can get this wrong in the first place let alone the next stage of our complaint. Secondly, after complaining on that Friday, I called the enquiry line to raise this issue and to organise another appointment - this was set for Tuesday 5th December, however I was called an hour later to be told that the appointment was incorrect as the Doctor was actually not in that day and that it will be moved to Wednesday 6th December 3.45pm (another shambles). Upon coming to our appointment, my partner came with two children that she cares for which was unavoidable due to us thinking the original appointment was Tuesday - I myself had traveled 3 hours from Grantham to get to this appointment. Again, after waiting for about an hour, Andrew came out to sit with us and told us that Dr Vijayanand has decided TODAY that she does not want to see self paying patients anymore. I asked to speak with her and she refused to do this apparently , as well as Andrew being shooed away by her also (his words not mine). I will note that the Nurse who came to see us for the pre-check did not know what we were coming in for... To Andrew and the Recptionist - telling me that Dr Vijayanad was with a patient for all that time we were waiting is a total lie also - because when I walked through the door leading to the offices I actually saw her walking around the corridor for a good amount of time, clearly she was not working. I expect a meeting with all of you to discuss your deceit and ill treatment of both of us. To not even see me face to face shows the true character of yourself. Not only this Andrew, but you were stood there by the lift as she walked past and you acknowledged her and there were no patients exiting the offices of building in this time either... I found this overall experience shambolic, unprofessional and an insult in all honesty. The service of this 'Private' Hospital is appalling.

Less than zero! My brother needlessly died in this hospital. The lack of post-op staff diligence - from surgeon to nurses - caused him to die of unchecked sepsis. If they had paid attention and listened to family members who told the staff he wasn't doing well, he'd be alive today :(

I'm an NHS referral. I saw a consultant (in Feb), scheduled a scan (in March), had another appointment with the consultant in April - almost four weeks after the scan . The consultant couldn't find my scan results, he spent half the 'consultation' searching for them. He then looked at the results of the scan and told me that it is not his area and I had to be referred elsewhere (the 'consultation' - given that it is not his area was a complete waste of my time). Then three and a half weeks later (today in fact) I called up because I've heard nothing, only to find that I have not been referred. The consultants medical secretary claimed that it is on her 'to do list' to action this morning! I told her that I'm sure she could understand why I am sceptical given how unprofessional I've found the hospital to date. I wonder if this is how they treat private patients? They have left me to languish on strong medication (and given that it is a fertility issue - may well have had a significant impact on my ability to conceive) because they can't provide a professional service to NHS patients. Disgusting - it's the only word I can use to describe my treatment. NB: If I was able to post a review and give 'no stars' then I would but I have to give at least one star in order to post this review.

Waited 2 months (and counting) for results of blood tests, found it impossible to speak to anyone with access to my records, and was promised numerous return phone calls which never came. I can only assume that my status an NHS patient, rather than a fee-paying one, had an impact on this. Unacceptable.
