Reception staff are ableist. Cafe doesn't do gluten free. While the dentists are friendly enough the communication I have received from this service is SHAMBOLIC at BEST, especially in the midst of the current global climate! Surely to goodness you'd think that they'd have a system in place where they KNOW at reception what patients are coming in for treatment in the dentist and have suitably qualified persons on hand to direct/chaperone those patients to the right place? This is 2021 not 1793 for heaven's sake. please fix it!

To be honest I don't like hospitals. I have been here 2 days in a row helping a relative and it's quite a clean, modern hospital, with excellent, friendly staff, if you are sick then sorry, but this would not be the worst place to come. The parking is good and free but a little difficult to find with a challenging crossroads at Battlefield Road.

An appointment today for a mammogram.On entering the hospital a delightful young man asked if I needed directions to my appointment.And there was hand gel and masks on the table a wee squirt of hand gel as had my own mask .I continued to my appointment imagining. Checked in then went to my area there was 5 social distance chairs.First time I have been at hozzie since covid, very impressed with the care they are taking due too Covid.Oh yes the coffee shop was social distance too.A nice cup of hot chocolate.A very nice day.

I'm first one to praise NHS staff and the great job they do. That said I received excellent care , efficiently and with care and courtesy throughout. On leaving I mistakenly assumed the cafe would be a safe place (re covid) to purchase a treat to take home.
However this was where guidelines were sadly neglected. Lack of face masks and no respect for distancing was very upsetting in a place you would expect everyone to be well versed in guidelines.

Great location, easily accessible entrance and wheelchair accessible parking, with plenty of space. I unfortunately had to wait 1 and a half hours before being helped when I went to the emergencies section, so quite unhappy about that, but thankfully the good service and kind staff made up for it. Overall good hospital unless you are in a hurry.

Left my 80 year old father (blind in one eye) to walk about the building not knowing where he was to go after his treatment. Nurse took my number and advised they would call me when he was done as I couldn't sit in the waiting room due to social distancing measures. Never happened. A kind stranger who saw us arrive told me my father was walking about looking for me. Not on. Absolute shambles.

Had to go to the minor injuries unit for my flatmate to get a tick removed (from a cat we are looking after). Very friendly staff and relatively quick waiting time. Thanks for all your great work! :)

I never post reviews, especially negative ones, but this has to be an exception. The nurse who treated my 12 year old left her distressed, she was already fearful about having to go to hospital after her piercing had become infected. He was rude and condescending to me (which as an adult I can deal with) but he never at any point tried to reassure an obviously distressed and scared girl. By contrast the nurses at the kids hospital were amazing, the best of our NHS

The gentleman who was at the desk in minor injuries needs a good shake. Had such an attitude when dealing with customers and even tried to start an argument with someone 20ft from the desk about using his phone. Other than that staff where friendly, helpful and understanding.

Because they removed my kidney stone, very professional, what's not to like. Very competent,no one can hate that. God bless them all, haters are doomed.Can wee at will,just a bit pain at kidney.Looks like a multiplex cinema from outside.But beware "Algorithms", the machine says no; if it even answers.You are on a Carousel to Palooka land; you get on but never get answered!!!Cancel HS2,working from homeZoom conference,who needs speedy train;Smeg off.Too many fat cats, with skin in the game!!!

Really good minor injuries unit. Went in an avacado-de-pitting injury and a very burly nurse kindly stitched my hand back up whilst cracking jokes about how he never has to stitch up anyone for eating cheesy chips.

Health care (fracture clinic) is brilliant but auxiliary staff should introduce themselves to waiting patients and explain what is happening.
A robot ("I, Auxiliary") could call out patient names and lead them without comment to other waiting rooms.
Clinical staff were polite, friendly and competent.
Super experience.

Worst hospital visit get sent there and appointtment arranged from a&e to as soon as step in doctors room and sit down very patronising straight off bat explaining about x-rays as if a had asked for 1 or why came here! I got referred to here so that an expert can look at it no get told about why they don't do x-rays in the uk. But after tht prods my nose looks in it says all straight and fine even tho a tell her and show her the bump thats sticking out 1 side of my nose and said nothing was there even tho a showed her and told her that was never there before so don't know what that is because she says it's same as other side when it clearly isn't,then asks if a can breathe through nose properly tell her thts a bit of an issue when eating doesnt explain or check to say why that is so that was that left with something sticking out 1 side of nose and still not been able to breathe through nose properly when eating so yeh everything is ok!!! All other staff dealt with were really nice and helpful apart from the doctor.

Had eye trabeculectomy on 13th July. From the time I arrived, I was treated with kindness from staff and doctors. I enjoyed the whole experience. Operation only took 28 minutes, it was amazing! I am so very grateful! Thank you.

I went to the minor injuries with my daughter’s infected piercing. I was waiting 2 hours for someone to check on her and when the nurse came, he was quite rude. He said it’s need to me taken off which caused my daughter to have a panic attack. Instead of helping her to calm down, he said he doesn’t have time because other people are waiting.

Main entrance badly signed. main Doors closed on weekends. You have to go through the out of hours surgery doors. Poor directions for common folk. Nice staff though.

Great we hospital. Found always short staffed. Standard of care is good and patients well cared for. Staff very friendly. Would given 5 but it’ fell that one on staffing issues but for staff and care working there defo a 5. The old hospital had a subsidised canteen for staff and visitors. This does not and has a cafe which which I found expensive as not run by hospital.

Tried to call to cancel my appiappoint. Had to call the switchboard 5 times and spoke to a different person each time. Everytime they said they would put me through the call rang a few times then hung up.
Now the switchboard are refusing to answer my call it just keeps ringing out everytime I tried.
I understand hospitals are busy places but how am I suposes to cancel an appointment from a text that doesn't have a call back number on it and instead refers to a letter which I wasnt sent out?

I come from Edinburgh and believe that certain Edinburgh hospitals should look at this hospital to see how it should be done, with friendly and efficient staff who are not afraid to talk to and smile with patients all set in a clean environment, full marks to the New Vic, that's the way to do it ! Well done

Was sent there by nhs 24, entered through the wrong door and was stuck, walking through an empty building for half an hour. Wish they had receptionists in more than one wing! Was admitted fast and the doctors were competent and friendly!
