INFURIATING. This hospital is enough to cause you a heart attack let alone treat one. The parking is ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS. The amount of times I come here and I cannot find anywhere to park regardless of how early I arrive. And these are morning appointments. Good luck to anyone arriving later on in the day. 9:55. I arrived at 9:30. My appointment was at 9:50 and I have driven around 15 times along with all the other poor muppets who are also looking for a space. How about you reimburse me for all the petrol I've wasted trying to find a space? What an absolute waste of time. This is no reflection on the care given here. I cannot comment on that today because I can't actually get into the hospital to receive it.

Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) provides great services for the wider community. We are proud to be the closest pharmacy to PAH. We provide most of the emergency out of hour prescriptions for them.

Worst hospital ever. No way to call them My son's blood results are abnormal and no one called back and can't reach any secretary anything. Went there no one knows where the doctors are etc. Ghost town not hospital. Stay well away if you love your life.

I was shocked to see that this hospital only had a 3.5 star review! I can't praise the people that work here highly enough. The care I've received from them over the years has been exemplary. From fractured bones, to my appendectomy a few years ago, to my wife's treatment and witnessing the amazing work done to bring my son into the world. I cannot fault them. Yes the wait times can be long, but we're partially at fault for that! If we didn't go into A&E with every cut or bruise, they'd have time to treat those that are in "Accident and emergency" quicker.

Couldn’t fault Harlow A&E yesterday - arrived at about 1pm yesterday afternoon with what I’ll read was a broken wrist. Triaged within 10 minutes sent to Urgent care snd seen snd sr t for an x Ray almost immediately. Didn’t even have time to sit down before I was x rayed confirmed the break a f walked back to Urgent Care, waited about 30 minutes before being g taken back In for treatment. Local injection (very ouch) and set and plastered - out of there by 4pm - couldn’t fault it Only thing more than 2/3rds of patients were there because of not being able to see their GP - why? What is the matter with these doctors shutting up shop

Terrible experience back in January, I went twice with double vision and walking problems. First time was told I was stressed need to go home. Second, asked me what they wanted me to do, after crying I was told they would schedule a neurologist and ophthalmology appointment. (never happened) Since then went to Addrebrookes was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Finally someone listened to me. Never going back.

If there was minus stars I would give them a minus 5 stars and some, awful hospital extremely rude staff who don’t care if you need help more interested in getting you out of the door, Respiratory Emergency Department has a staff member who needs a new career and attitude change I will not put names as I have respect, I have been discharged with a blood clot in my lung why would a hospital discharge you with something as serious as that should be kept in and monitored by all accounts still never mind hopefully I will be ok if not then so be it as this hospital doesn’t seem to give a damn at seriousness of blood clots. Avoid this hospital if you want proper treatment.

My wife is in Penn ward . And the staff don’t care that there is a problem over the last week she had to put up with a follow Patient shouting and shouting all night long she has not been able to get a nights sleep and the staff have done nothing. Today being Sunday we’ve had enough and contacted the duty matron who we have explained the situation and all we’ve got is nowhere like we are interrupting their day I tried to explain that my wife has not had this sleep and all the matron did was over talk me and kept saying I’m going to end this call. The matron just lied and lied on the phone and when I corrected her she again just said I’m going to end this call.

On Thursday the 23rd of July 2020 my GP advised l go to A&E at this hospital. I was well impressed by the way all the staff took care of me. Not only that, l couldn't help but notice at my time there at how well they took care of all the patients. Things were very calm and done in an orderly fashion. Every member of staff was cheerful, chatty and made you fell at ease. I want to Thank them all for their help and in particular Alex the Doctor that took care of my case. Thank you NHS for all your hard work and dedication.

I am very satisfied with all the staff from this hospital, they have tried really hard to help everyone and especially in this pandemic situation they have protected us. As a patient I have seen how hard is the job what they are doing and thanks to them we are both (me and my baby) healthy and thankful for everything. Thank you for all the staff from Chamberlen ward, Labour ward and Samson ward.

We call this ‘the killer hospital’ because once you go in, you might not come back out alive. Most awful, negligent hospital have ever come across. Will never use or walk in their door. Better if dying to die at home. They will do nothing for you.

The nurses I had treated me like a piece of furniture. No compassion, found their care really distressing. Had to beg for my line to be sorted out as the line wasn't able to administer pain relief properly, it was being delivered way too slowly. Pain relief i had already waited a long time for. But they would much rather be all huddled around the computer together and ignored me. I ended up in tears and when one of them finally came to sort it they said no word to me at all whilst I was in tears. Just fixed it and walked away. This is going back quite a while now but feel it does need to be addressed.

Faultless service. My thanks to you all. Quick, efficient, friendly and attentive. The only potential negative was when a very disruptive patient started mouthing off in Ambulatory for no good reason and she was spoken to firmly and professionally. Really really impressed on both visits today and last week.

Incredibly slow to do anything, don't tell you anything, send your information to the wrong people, give you tests then say they didn't need to do them (even if very painful) utterly ignore any any mentions of pain for hours and will ignore any comment on pain killers that don't work. Just go to another hospital, any hospital. Or stay at home and take paracetamol, same experience but more comfortable. This is experience over multiple visits and to different sections. It's all bad. Only radiology seems competent and their phone line doesn't even work properly.

Was admitted to the hospital via A and E last week, can never understand why it takes so long, but I suppose they need to be thorough . Can't fault the staff, they work so hard, and the way some of the patients abuse the doctors and particularly the nurses was criminal. the only real crib I had was the lack of information offered to you on discharge. I wrote a list and gave it to the doctor at the time of his last visit, He did answer all my questions, but its not until you return home , you realise there were man more things I wanted to know. A printed list of possible answers would have been useful. So anything you want to know, ask before leaving. Otherwise my visit was very successful. The food was acceptable, the beds clean and comfortable, and the staff first class

I am so grateful to the staff of POH. I had covid19 & was admitted early hours monday morning. I was treated with compasssion for the second I exited the ambulance. Staff had no problem handling me although I presented an infectious risk to them. I was immediately given UntraSound scan which proved the viris(I had a positive test anyway) They opened a new ward just for Covid patients and within hours I was on the ward.I needed constant oxygen. Most patients on the ward can't even make it to the Loo as they get so breathless. I was given, oxygen as my sats kept dropping which can lead to a stroke so its important to have the oxygen.I was then given antibiotics by drip & tablets, Steriods ,blood thinners and I am now home. Four days of constant checks day & night and I am cured.I feel lucky as others have complications that I left behind. They are doing a perfect job but this Virus can casue other damage which is a secondary problem they are faced with. Lovely hard working staff - I thank you so much - You saved my Life xx

I cant beleive I'm actually doing this, but enough is enough. In a medical, scientific and clinical research context I have worked side by side or within the NHS since 1999 and it pains me to write this. I've never needed treatment in PAH and they did a great job with my mum as she died, but something has changed. Over the last year, I have had phones put down on me mid sentence or immediately put down to stop the phone ringing (up to 8 times over 8h), blatantly being ignored by ward staff, unanswered phone lines, lost medications and money belonging to my sibling, inaccurate and differing information to me and other family members, lack of information from physicians for relatives in ITU (6 days and counting), the list can go on. I am not singling out anybody but the system has broken to a level I cant keep quiet about. Trust policy is no visitors, clearly correct for COVID, does that also mean you stop talking to worried relatives...apparently so. Sad times, I know it's tough but we are all human and deserve respect. Improve your standards cos god knows what happens whilst delivering care.

Really positive experience in the radiology department today. A phone call in the morning, offering me the opportunity to be seen before my scheduled appointment; I didn't have to wait long after arriving a couple of hours early. A further test was recommended and I was able to be seen within an hour. Very helpful and friendly staff. Thanks.

Never ever go to this hospital. Where is CQC to observe the services of this hospital starting from A&E. I took my mother to this hospital in 2011 and had horrandeous experience i I went the my mother has been taken there against her will two weeks and same experiences. The main issues are with the management and leadership and of course lack of compassionate towards patient.

A hospital that is accessible to the local community without having a torturous journey. There is an AE department, radiology, acute and trauma wards, in all what one would hope for in a modern hospital. It's not so big that people with mobility issues, like myself can't get around independently.Every department has easily understandable directions and the staff are only too happy to help. There are also two areas for beverages and food.????

My elderly mother was in Tye Green ward under Dr Snook for about 5 weeks. During her stay she must have had at least 20 different nurses, matrons and other staff members help and assist her. My family and I need only one word to describe every one of them ...amazing ! Thank you all so very much.

Have been going to this hospital for many years with very few complaints, but when it comes to parking things change as it is always difficult and sometimes time consuming even with a blue badge to find a parking space .Went last week and stayed for just over one hour, for which I have now received a £100 pound fine, as there is no longer FREE PARKING for people with disabilities and who go on a regular basis . It now appears PARKING EYE just wants profit on all its spaces as .Having contacted security today, they have said everybody pays regardless !!. as they don’t have a registration system for blue badge holders as many hospitals now do . What a pity for such a good hospital . Let’s hope the trustees and management look into this. B. Clark.

Thank you Harvey Ward for Lack of compassion, communication, care, and commitment not to mention ethics from some of the nurses regarding basic needs and transparency. I found that the HCA's were more concerned about the care and compassion of a patient than the qualified staff, how disappointing. For the few staff that held the team up I thank you, as for the rest a patient shouldn't have to self discharge due to the treatment given by qualified staff. More measure should be put in place to find out the true extent of why someone would rather self discharge than stay under your care. Thank you for checking for patients food intolerance and supplementing that with four cream crackers and an OJ. Special thanks to the male clerk and manager Gill who informed me that I was not entitled to proof of admittance or discharge record to provide to my Gp, haematologist for follow up care, my university and work due to it being POLICY not to supply discharge records for self discharged and the male clerk telling me explicitly that I'm not entitled to nothing as proof. Thank you for enquiring as to why I discharged and for being unable to provide the policy that stipulates patients are not allowed a summary or any proof of admittance to then provide a sick note covering my period at Harvey ward. Thank you for making an already stressful time even more of an experience to forget. Maybe read the NMC Code a little bit and school yourself and all the other failing staff (I apologise to those who were brilliant as they bring you all down with them) about the professional standards you must upkeep to maintain your registry and remember that every encounter you have puts your Pin on the line.. don't assume people are ignorant or unknowledgable, the 6C's are there for a reason.

A&E is an absolute joke. The nurses and doctors are nice and knowledgeable, when you can finally see one! They work incredibly slowly and obviously do not employ enough staff for the amount of people in the area. When we arrived at 9pm we were told it would be a 1-2 hour wait. Almost 7 hours later we finally saw a doctor. Even the busier hospitals in London don’t make you wait this long. Almost every patient approached the receptionist to ask how much longer and were told to just wait. It’s not just a one off either. Speaking to other patients in the waiting room one said she came months ago and had to wait 8 hours, another said they had waited 7 hours another time. It’s just unacceptable- people were left in corridors on beds. People were sleeping in the waiting room. The staff may be good but they are just too slow. When you’re in agony and are just told to wait it’s incredibly cruel and frustrating. So only go to this hospital if you have a spare 7-8 hours.

Had my first growth Scan( 24 weeks twins) in this hospital, which took no longer than 5 minutes. My previous scans took at least for 1 hour. Im a bit concerned if that is enough time for checking everything with 2 babies. Also i could not buy any pictures as i have been told the babies are too big....The sonographer(Ganapathi Moorthi) did not say anything, what i can see on the sceern etc, as other hospitals explain you everything.
