A spacious quality pub serving quality food. I visited The Whitestone on my birthday with family on Sunday. They offer a traditional range of foods at down to earth prices in a 1, 2 or 3 course guise.
Inside I was impressed by the painted wooden beam interior, separate dining and TV area. The staff were relaxed, pleasant and professional. It took a while for food to arrive, but when it did it was served accurately, and more importantly, it was piping hot.
The Whitestone is great value for money for something that is a little more upmarket.

Cannot reccomend enough. Starter was pigeon, pancetta and braised red cabbage and it was perfect. Main was lamb, creamy potatoes and red cabbage and again was incredible. Service was amazing especially considering we were a table of 20. We were on a hen do and had our own separate room so we could play our own music and make as much noise as we wanted. Will definitely be back.

Out of the way, polite staff, expensive pints however
I guess it's to stop poor people coming to the pub and causing trouble, and it is a nice place for wealthy elderly people to go and be in a safe environment.
They can provide water for your dog on request

Had pizzas and shredded beef tacos from the bar menu, all very nice. Small pizzas were a good size even for a hungry man and excellent value at around £8 each. Definitely worth a go

After high expectations for this place I was very surprised. Even left without eating! Worse, most boring menu I’ve ever seen....and you need to make to restaurant more homely! Very bare and cold feel to this place, considering the location I thought it would be of higher standard, I was wrong! Won’t be back

We booked a table for 1pm from the moment we arrived the service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, very attentive to everyone's needs, food was excellent, we had roast dinner, sea bass and steak meals, it was exceptional, so friendly and helpful could have stayed all night, we will definitely keep going back, brilliant experience and top class staff

work locally as a support worker for two gentlemen one of whom has to have his food liquidised. We usually have to get taxis for somewhere to take them to eat as a lot of establishments won’t blend despite taking our own blender. however last night a friend told us about the Whitestone so as it is in walking distance we decided to walk round. I telephoned prior asking if they would blend and when they said ‘yes’ we decided to eat also. the food and service was brilliant we will definitely become locals now even if it’s just for a drink in the garden. thank you so much

The place is lovely. Good food and the waitress was friendly. Every table was being used but no 1 had to wait long to be served. Romantic as we had gone for our Anniversary. Good for couples and family. Recommend you book.

2 meals sent back for cold steaks, returned with half the food missing
1 person on the bar even tho they had a party of 21 and a kids Halloween party
Staff were trying their best but seemed very overwhelmed with the amount of people

From the outside it's just a nice pub on an estate ! Inside it's really smart and the food is excellent. They definitely have a chef here not a cook !

We were a bit early (12:15) for Sunday lunch so not a lot of atmosphere. My wife had roast beef but was disappointed to find the mashed potatoes cool, which I can confirm. I had the turkey (which came with hot mashed potatoes) so I guess my wife's meal was plated up a while before it was served, or the plate was cold. Can't fault the girls serving though, they were very good and pleasant with it.

Nice little pub.. let down by fact that toilets flooded a few months ago wetting carpets through in entrance.
Shame the same stained carpets still on the floor as you walk in..

Went for a meal to celebrate a birthday.Won't be going back.We were put in the conservatory which was cold (could have put heating on before). The mash potatoes were lumpy,the Yorkshire puddings were cooked to much and the salmon sauce was horrible.It took ages for the meals to come out and even longer for the dishes to be cleared away.Not enough staff on!.Spoke to the waitress about food she said she would tell the chef.Decided not to have pudding.We paid the bill and left.Nobody came over to talk to us about the issues.
