After sales service non existent. Drive pulley on lathe (little and light use) they supplied failed. We enquired purchasing a replacement but no one is interested. After being passed around on the phone sent numerous emails, none of which have even had a courtesy of a response. Do not recommend this company, their attitude towards customers is diabolical.

My DB7 mini lathe developed a Fault with the speed display, and so I contacted Mark Till at Chester machine tools and he promptly sent me a new display unit and a motor control Board, my lathe is now working perfectly again, many thanks.

Disappointing customer service. Lathe delivered without change gears and chuck keys. After weeks of messages, barely any response and gone no where.

If you’re considering purchasing a machine from them believing they’ll ‘Honour the 12month warranty’ and that they will fulfil their website after-care / backup service you may wish to think again! Faulty goods delivered - new lathe ran for 20 mins / major oil leak damage to motor / no new gasket available for gear box lid (I had to make this for the engineer!) / replacement motor was faulty and failed / no stock available at Chester Machine Tools - the 3rd new motor was sourced from Machine Mart / cross slide developed excessive backlash / emails and phone calls regarding the cross slide fault were all ignored. 6 months later....I'm still waiting for a response! Appalling customer service and I'll never do business with them again! I would prefer not to give a star rating but unfortunately couldn't remove it

Drove to their shop with the intention of buying and paying over £700 for a lathe and tools, I came away with a 2015 model, a better drill chuck and a full set of tools and saved just under £300. The guy spoke the truth, didn't sell me what I didn't need and gave me friendly advice. Top quality sales and such a friendly place. 10/10 A++

I bought a Conquest Lathe from Chester over 10 years ago and it's still running well! I regularly pop by to get tooling from them and the chaps there are always a great help.

I bought a 2nd hand 920 Lathe through ebay. I needed a bit of advice and some tooling so I emailed the guys at Chester. They where brilliant! I had a manual emailed over within minutes and advice on what to check for and how to tighten everything up was very simple and easy to understand. I haven't bought anything from them yet, but the service I have received was as If I'd spent thousands. I will be using them for a long time to come, and I will be happy to part with my money. Absolutely Great.

I bought quite a few things through Chester till my my variable speed lathe DB8V blew up. I send it back for repair, which cost £200. When it was returned to me, it ran terribly, and kept blowing fuses. I got them to pick it up again. It was with them for 6 months and I only got it back when I phoned up asking where it was. It hadn't been touched! I had to get a local lathe repair specialist to repair it for £40. I asked for my money back for the £200 repair they didn't do and they refused. I will never use them again.

ordered an item over the phone (payed over the phone). Called to find the order status after the delivery date was not met; I was told it was a discontinued item, and they no longer carry it. they took the order + money without having/never intending to deliver the item?
