I wish to complain about the meal we has last week..first there was over an hours wait for the ..it was advertised as burger with organic wedges when there were in fact plain over chips 2 50 for a slice of cheese no ice for the gin and tonic and my husband tea was cold..this used to be such a good place to eat but no more ...it cost £68 which was extortionate. I will never go there again

Service is very slow. Nice surroundings. We did not enjoy our pot of tea! The food was very good, great quality and well presented. Lots of lovely gifts available to buy plus local produce.

Set in an visually stunning location, looking over the rolling English countryside and maintained cottage style garden, you will find a relax setting to enjoy a coffee and cake. I had the carrot cake, which was moist and tasty- the frosting was spot on. The hot drink prices are excellent value for money. Generally, the main courses/sandwiches are over priced. Having said this, the food is organic and of a high quality. The sandwich feelings looked amazing! The service didn't really live up to expectations. The waiter was slow, the tables were not cleared away and he forgot to bring us the water that we had ordered. However, it was an exceptionally hot day and he did apologise for the service. There is a small play area for children, to help keep them entertained. There is a rather expensive farm shop to look around too. Overall, I would going back again and recommend a visit.

The food is nice, has some lovely things in the shop but the staff don't come across very welcoming which is a shame as this has stopped me popping in

A lovely place in a super location however the service is extremely slow and the food very over priced for the size of the portions and had to wait over an hour for it to arrive. Have been before and was served tepid coffee so won't visit again

Just had gorgeous lunch. Would love to know what leaves were used in this salad.

We had an afternoon tea from here a few weeks back and it was really nice. Pricey but worth the money. My only criticism would be that there was a lot of sweet and not much savoury.

Table booked for 10am checked out the menu (full menu for "eat out" ) but when we arrived only a limited menu no seating inside, when we questioned the menu we were told the owner had tried to update it but unable to .... yet to eat out August logo was on the online menu so it could be altered! We ordered coffees we were the first ones to be seated & had to wait 25 minutes for the drinks to arrive in cardboard cups! The last time I visited here with my mother we sat & watched everyone around us arrive have orders taken & food delivered. I complained to a staff member who did apologise but I felt let down so we left & went elsewhere. This place used to be fantastic but I have given them a second chance to be let down again such a shame as local for me. My last visit I vowed I would not go again but I really have found out that service has not changed & on top of that the coffee was awful (we did not drink it!) So thank goodness it was half price! This is certainly a place I will never visit again, there are so many lovely local places elsewhere now that are by far better than Oakley Grange!

Lovely sitting in the barn with a late lunch. Not so good if you're in a hurry, service seemed very slow.

Food is very good. Gluten free options but with an extra charge! Service is slow, not a place to have brunch/lunch if you are limited with time!

Wait for initial service was too long considering it wasn't packed. Ordered food, waited ages and then told they had burnt my partners so although mine was ready we choose to wait until his was redone. Lovely food, really tasty but service very poor.just overpriced as well. No sign of management/supervisor and a lot of unhappy diner's

Love this place but I'm wondering if the owners ever read these reviews? I'm surprised you still have a business. Your staff are letting you down, service is shocking and if you are lucky enough to get your order in a reasonable time it's often wrong. Last time I went we waited and waited, eventually food came but no drinks, another 10 minutes before the drinks arrived by this time we had almost finished our food, the waitresss doesn't know their left hand from their right... wake up!

On driving up to this place you wonder if you're in the right location, all looks like shabby run down agricultural buildings. Pleasant enough in the cafe/ farm shop. Good menu with lots of choice and unique home cooked offerings. Service was very slow and disorganized on our visit but they were quite busy. Reasonably priced and value for money.

Just lovely, home grown organic delicious grub - in a beautiful converted barn, with a tremendously exciting deli to have a mooch in, and lovely staff! Cant think of a bad word to say about the place! In summer their outdoor space is really a thing of beauty!

From the description was expecting a more traditional breakfast but it turned out to be more like nouvious cuisine. Portions very small and almost child-like size sausages and bacon rasher. Sorry, but not impressed and would not visit again.

AVOID AVOID AVOID Took my mum for her birthday lunch, ordered soup was very bland, however the sandwiches were nice. We then ordered 2 x scones which when arrived weren't cooked in the middle infact they were so raw the middle was liquid. We advised the waitress who apologised and asked us for our second choice. They then didn't have the second choice. When mentioned to the woman behind the counter she was extremely rude and dismissive and didnt actually let us finish what we were saying. Overpriced and average but appaling customer service!

Lovely place however extremely slow service. 45 minutes to bring my daughter her drink and even longer for the food even though we only had sandwiches. Food was nice, although quite pricey for what it was. Our card was declined even though workedfine at the petrol station and shop straight after so make sure you have cash on you just incase !

Nice cake and coffee but quite expensive and very slow service. The staff seem distracted and almost like it's an inconvenience to have customers. It's a shame as the location and food is nice.

Great selection of food and quick service with a smile. Sausage sandwich, coffee and the best brownie I've tasted, was a tenner which I thought was good compared to some cafes I've been. Visited with a group of 7 cyclists. Plenty of space outdoors. One guy had beans on toast with about 17 beans on which seemed a little tight.

Lovely place, I wouldn't say it is pushchair friendly several times i have been it has been mentioned I may need to put car seat on the floor and fold up pushchair, as i couldnt keep pushchair beside me or to go upstairs with an offer of help. Minor things a bit overwhelming when everyone is starring though. Would be great if cleared walk way and made a big of space downstairs so it can be more friendly for families. However food is fantastic and staff are always friendly.

Very good. Took a group of 21 riders here for lunch during a motorcycle trip. Very accommodating and welcoming. With advanced notice they allocated a parking area away from cars for our bikes and we have use of the corn loft. Huge choice on the menu to suit all tastes and budget. Will certainly visit again.

Nice setting, ploughman's overpriced, missing some key constituents of a ploughman's (pickled onion, butter, some chutney) and to pay £3 for a small amount of ham seemed expensive. More like a cheese salad with a slice of ham for about £12. Size of rocky road slice was very disappointing for the price. My wife enjoyed hers but said it was quite expensive for what it was (cheese sandwich and carrot cake)

I'm a big fan of this place. It has a great atmosphere in wonderful surroundings on a working farm. The venue is a very pleasant converted barn with indoor seating both at ground floor and on a mezzanine level, and further seating outdoors in a charming wild flower landscaped garden - perfect on a sunny day. The deli is always well stocked with a good selection of cakes, cheeses, meats and bottled condiments. The cafe has a select menu, not extensive but the choice of meals is varied and the prices reasonable. The quiche and the mushrooms are highly recommended, as is the cappuccino. There is also a breakfast menu which finishes at 11:30. The staff are always very welcoming and attentive. There's ample parking on site. And as a bonus, in the spring there are usually lambs to visit in the barn next door.

I very rarely give a bad review but eating here wasn’t a good experience. We waited 45 minutes for our food which was then delivered to us with a missing salad and a very greasy chicken and bacon sandwich. Not worth the detour off the M1 for a ‘quick lunch!’ Perhaps we got them on a bad day - they were busy.

Absolutely stunning location and grouds... could be a very lucrative business, but unfortunately the service is non existent. We arrived, were spotted, not greeted, spotted again by staff as we sat down, waited for over 15 minutes during a quiet time, and not attended to. Management really need to step up on customer service as this is really sabotaging the income of this beautiful setting.

My previous review -Great food. Great location and friendly staff. One of my favourite haunts. However we arrived today at 2:45pm, waited and waited until after 3pm to get served and then told they stop cooking food at 3pm. The place want even busy. It was 3:06 when we were told they wouldn't make a sandwich with bacon. Pathetic. You are now on my rubbish list.

Food and setting are great. Collection of local produce is good. One waitress was lovely, another was dreadfully rude (seemed like she'd rather we weren't there) and the lady I assume runs it was horrid. Lots of newbies, ourselves included, didn't know what to do when we got there, whether you go in to order or sit and wait. There was a sign saying sit and wait but the waitress told us off. Basically, go on a sunny day for a charming place to eat but don't expect smiles or good customer service.

Always enjoy breakfast and lunch here. Service can be slow but that's mostly due to the fact that everything is cooked from scratch. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
