I went here for a quick visit in 2016. Being a spot for tourists, it definitely had a lot of traditional Hungarian souvenirs. If you don't care much for that, just get the Beef Goulash like I did and some other food. The taste was awesome, although there might be cheaper alternatives elsewhere.

A very nice place for tourists. Unfortunately, the prices are too high. Definitely the emphasis on tourism.

I've tried only the veggies and fruits up to this point, but far superior in terms of quality and prices compared to normal retail.

It was a nice open market. You can get fresh meat, vegetables, fruits and other bakery products. Also they sell fresh dairy milk there.

it is an interesting place as a tourist, but it is not a real market, most sellers buy from the same wholesalers (from which, for example, aldi, lidle, spar also buy) there are very few prices from real small producers.

Nice old building, overgrown farmers market. Locals shop for fresh food but us tourists enjoy good souvenirs shops and a few tourists type restaurants

Must see in Budapest! Huge hall with shopping and eating possibilities. Locals still do shopping there, good prices however sowm tourists traps existing there as well. As we enjoyed views and shopping some vegetables and meats I don't recommend eating on 2nd floor. Not too tasty or we choose wrong place. Food stalls overall didn't look too promising.

A nice place to have a look around. It is more of a touristic attraction than a real market place. You can enjoy here all localities of Hungary. Can get everything you want. Worth to visit.

Many people told me I would love this place and guess what? They were completely right. You have to go! This is an indoor market in here you can find anything you could imagine from cheese, bread, meat, souvenirs, and the most delicious foods and drinks from Budapest. I end up going in here because I was going to go to a culinary walk from the people of taste of hungry and I loved my tour because I got to try and taste many different things in this amazing market. I never felt cold or hot.

I managed to buy some traditional Hungarian stuff here. Good thing is that almost every store accepts card payment unlike the other central market on the other side of the city. Very tourist centric market

This is a very fun very large market. You can buy delicious prepared Hungarian foods in many different booths. There is a cafeteria type restaurant with music sometimes. Every kind of fresh meat, beef, pork, chicken, suck, game meats etc. Also salami and smoked meats of every kind. Souvenirs, leather products, paprika, clothing, does, secret boxes, nesting dolls, Hungarian embroidered cloth. Very fun atmosphere

Great place to shop for local foods. Provide, meats, local honey and flowers. Nice places to eat as well. Unfortunately you see very few people in the photos and shops not open. This is due to the lack of tourists as a result of Covid. Visit the market haul you will be glad that you did.

Awesome building, architechtonically speaking. So, worths the visit. Though, for actual grocery shopping, not of the best options when comes to price. Yes though some good variety in it. Anyway, you've got to check out the looks of the place if you're in town.

Best place to buy souvenirs. Best prices for sure. I pretty much walked in and out of every souvenir shop I passed by in the city and none of them had prices like the ones in the central market hall. Also within the market, the best prices are if you walk all the way inside.

It servers well as a touristic attraction and an actual marketplace. There is also an Aldi in the lower ground floor. You can get products fresh from the suppliers here, and you can also get them cheaply. They have a wide range of products and the Aldi downstairs complement them. Good place for groceries shopping.

Nice architecture, many shops. On the right side from main entrance there are shops for Hungarian special products: spices, things made of lavender. Worth visiting.

Great place to do all your food shopping. Every type of meat you can imagine, large variety of local produce and a few specialty shops sprinkled in between. My personal favourite is the Fuchs dairy and goat milk shop at the very back of the market past the lottery shop. Go and discover! Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area.

Huge market, most places ask for cash to be paid instead of credit card. They accept € or HUF keep moving around as most shop sell same items but prices could vary up to 20%. Ready to eat food above is not so great so skip if you can. As food outside in restaurant is cheaper and tastier. I could find English speaking traders and they were helpful when there are less tourist. Most days this place is crowded so watch you wallets. Enjoy shopping ????

Good big market under one roof. You can find variety of souvenir from locals on first floor. Ground floor has fresh veg, meat milk spices. This place also has many restaurants that offer good local cuisines.

It’s a must see building in the city, but there are much cheaper, less touristy places to pick up your pickles. Avoid the extremely over priced eateries upstairs. You may pay a lot more than you expect for extras such as sour cream.

This is an amazing place, a mixture of modern discount shopping (Aldi in the basement) fruit and vegetable stalls, butchers, traditional Hungarian specially shops, local food stalls and souvenirs, all in a magnificent building. Truly one of the must experience places for visitors and useful amenities for locals. Current covid rules mean that it closes early and is less crowded, so the shop owners are having a hard time. Your visit makes a difference. Most stall holders speak English too so it is easy to buy what you want and interact with them. I highly recommend this place

If you are around, have a look at this indoor market. On the ground level they sell loads of fresh meat and others stuff such as bakeries (just a few). On the first floor, there is a section where you can buy Hungarian food to eat, such as Goulash Soup. Do note: that the Goulash soup at the stands on the seconds floor are actually charging more than the restaurant on the first floor. Although I haven’t been to that restaurant (near the stairs) I would go there next time, rather than buying the food at the stand if I had more time!

A nice fruit and vegetables market - it’s really busy when we were there. Choose wisely on which stores you are buying from. It seems to be a market that the locals would visit too so it’s a highlight to our trip. We ate in a few different stalls - they are all nice but none stand out.

This place is like a typical Turkish market. You can taste many local foods. You can buy yourself a snack, especially before going on a city tour in the morning, and eat all day long.

My partner and I visited here in October of 2019. The building itself is worth seeing with its elaborate ironwork. The market is a bit cramped and it was full of people when I was there. As a tourist pack your patience and bring whatever Hungarian you can summon to your interactions. The vendors we dealt with had little patience with us and we wished we'd prepared more.

We really enjoyed shopping here while we waited for our Segway tour. We planned to come back and get souvenirs after but got sidetracked. We came back the following day and they were closed. They are closed on Sunday, so plan accordingly and don’t miss out like we did! This is the best place to buy cute souvenirs from Budapest at super reasonable prices. We were told most of the shops buy from here and mark up to sell in their stores, so if you’re looking for the most options and the best prices come here.

Lots of high quality meat and vegetables, mostly for Hungarian dishes. Some souvenir food items for tourists. The greens section is run by asians so some essential asian ingredients are available as well.

Great selection of local produce....and upstairs for more touristy, souveniry, local crafts, and food (cooked meals, etc). Just don't touch the fruit and vege....unless you want to be reprimanded in Hungarian from the stall owner! Recommended though, and a buzzing place, especially around the festive season.

Beautiful building, fun shopping and eating, just stay away from the main drag, that's for the tourists. If you don't mind eating from plastic plates you can have a delicious authentic meal for four with beer around 20 Euro.

Very good experience and interesting place for visiting. But have to know which shop are good quality. Most shops are 50/50. Have to be local to know which are good. I found good one for fruit at A-7. Highly recommend for first time in Budapest.
