So its easy to find. Close to some shops to mooch whilst you wait for the car to be finished. The staff are friendly. The prices are extreme! Not sure if this is just because they are a big chain and they need to make their money somewhere but honestly, if you need the work done id go small. I booked in a rush, won't be making that mistake again. May also be worth getting a second opinion if you go there. Was quoted in excess of 500 for one part and labour (bare in mind the part was 80 quid - I ordered and picked up myself from euro car parts, got a friend who is a mechanic to fit it). They quoted for both sides to be done but the other was fine. They said its good practice. Not if you don't have 500 quid. There was no option to leave the other side either. Even if you aren't sure, find out what the part is and see if they will fit it if you order it. Just a lot of money in a time like this. Not everyone has a lot of work on and not everyone can fork out 500+.

Lovely staff, had a full service. Dropped car at 12 and they were super busy. Picked car up at 6pm (closing time) and they did not rush to go through all the details. Felt valued as a customer and they explained all very clearly. Advising what would be best. I feel a lot safer in my car now. Thank you you lovely people!! I will be back for the more work!!!

Fantastic workmanship and customer service. All workmen went above and beyond to explain in detail the findings of the work carried out and made me feel a very valued customer. Always have a great experience with Halfords. The staff are fantastic and are always willing to help and give you the best advise they can. I always use them for my MOTs as well as if anything goes wrong with my car. Jason and Andy are a great help, as well as the rest of the staff! It was booked in for an MOT and service, and Jason and the guys at Halfords Auto Centre were thorough and really took their time making sure everything went well with my car. Have used this garage numerous times and they have always provided a good service. Most recently when I had a major issue with my car the manager, Adam, went above and beyond to find and fix the problem. It took multiple road tests by Adam and an engineer, but at each stage I was kept up to date on what needed to be fixed and the cost involved before commencing the work. Highly recommend this garage for their customer service, value and professionalism.

I couldn't rate my experience at halfords any higher today. I was served by Alex and Jason at the Strood branch and couldn't have asked for better customer service!! They both made me feel welcome and were patient with my million questions. They were chatty, friendly, helpful and thoughtful especially as I am pregnant they even offered asked if I needed help getting anything out the car while I looked for my service book. They kept me in the loop with everything that was going on during the day and even stayed late so I could pick up my car as I wasn't able to make it in time for closing time. I would and will be highly recommending them to everyone.

If your car doesn't have something to be repaired with big value, they wouldn't look at your car.I booked online for an aircon leak investigation(34.99£) and a possible repair.Few days later i dropped the car to them,they was very busy and half hour later they called me to collect the car.They said can't investigate the leak because they don't have gas in stock.How this can be possible when you booked on advance?This is second time when Halfords autocentre refuse to do a job because of the low value of the bill.If they can't con you with a fake job they won't touch your car. Update after reply: Thanks for your standard reply.Of course i am not happy.Should i be?After i dropped the car there and took it back exactly how i am left it?I booked the car on your centre with a reason.To be investigated and fixed.And now i have to wait 7-12 days for refund.Do you think this is acceptable?

Took car in for mot, called to tell me it unfortunately had failed and was given a quote for work required. Decided to go ahead and left car at centre was surprised to get a call after only 5 hours to say all done and ready to collect Jason the manager was very helpful.

Had new tyres and tracking done. Slightly annoyed that it was delayed by an hour because the compressor wasnt turned on. But the guy at the reception was a genuine and fun guy which was great for a customer. I had to go back to get the tracking re done not there fault! But the man at the reception was more than miserable had a face like i dont think knew how to smile. The young lady was far more approachable and understanding. They tell me the free brake check they offer will take all day yet the website says and hour. When i rebooked the brake check they cancelled it hours later. This brake check was also due on the sunday my tyres were done but they couldn't as they had too many MOTs booked which i can understand. But thats two times now its not been done. Almost get the feel that they dont want to do it because its free for me and they get nothing but i need it done because that was an advisory on my MOT. Why offer it if you wont actually do it!!!

I was a returning customer, for MOT 2019 & 2020. I booked my MOT online & paid 39.95, I paid a further £22 for the diesel cleaner, as they told me emissions were slightly over, to clear the MOT, I would need the cleaner added, plus more fuel, then a speedy drive on the A2, Gravesend & back. I then drove to the petrol station, only yards away, from Halfords, after filling up & driving off, car went into limp mode & struggled to go anywhere. I struggled back to Halfords, to be told they haven't done nothing to the car, other than test & add diesel cleaner. Immediately it seemed to be my own fault, as my diesel was low, however I did ask whether I should add fuel, before adding the cleaner. Then the lad who added the cleaner, plugged a diagnostics tablet, which seemed to temporarily clear the problem, as him & me drove around the block. As it was late, I was told to come back the following day, around 12pm, which I did. The lad who added the cleaner & told me to come back, didn't seem to be available, so I did try to talk to the female receptionist & another lad. However no matter what I said, I seemed to be in the wrong & questioned about the service history, which I done as recommended. The car seem to pass the MOT just before 6pm. The following day I was pleased about passing, but wasn't sure the problem was over. Just as I thought the car is now in limp mode. I took it to another mechanic, who has advised, replacing 1 fuel injector & the filter. Total cost £460. Now I'm left wondering, what the hell happened?!! To my car, which drove fine, when I first took it in. Not even sure what to do now. Please don't fall for it, I don't know how they sleep at night?!!

I was really pleased and impressed when I collected it that they had taken every precaution with all surfaces ie seats , steering wheel, gear stick etc covered and wiped down. I needed my car by the weekend and although they were fully booked and told me the earliest they could do it was the Wednesday after, Jason and Adam went out of their way as a suprise and stayed until 11pm to finish my car. Excellent service all round and my car drives perfectly now. Really appreciate the hard work from these guys at Halfords Autocentre Strood!

I've used Halfords Autocentre at Strood for nearly two decades. They have always been really professional, providing an excellent service at a reasonable price. They serviced and MOT'd one of my cars last week, I'm going back tomorrow for them to fit three tyres. Last month they stayed open 20 minutes past closing time to allow me to pick up a car that had to have the brake discs and pads changed. I can't fault them.

What a mess up from such a name (Halfords) . Got my MOT booked a month in advance and then member of team who works with Jason calls me in the morning of my schedule date asking me to come at 8pm ? I asked are you sure 8pm ? Yes ! Cool . Got there and the garage is closed ???? Well done guys ???????? 45 min MOT job I called them this morning no apology and no solution given ???????? Never again I will use Halford in any branch

Was originally quoted around £300 to replace my windscreen motor. After assessing the car was told the motor is beyond repair and so was the mechanic arms and were gonna charge me £600. Went to mechanic shop in London and they had a look and found that clio's having issues with pump flooding into motor so they cleaned it out and told me nothing was wrong with any of the parts and that there is an electrical fault with the motor switch. Got it replaced for quarter of the price. Never going halfords, rip off.

Halfords I would advice to improve your service, although it will cost a few million but at least your business will be much better and trust worthy.

This was my first time using Halfords Autocentre and I was not impressed. I took my car to replace my rear springs and wheel alignment. One hour later I got told it would cost more than the original quote for the springs, without rear wheel alignment. When paying, I got advised that further work will be needed to replace the suspension arms, toe bolts, nuts and washers all at additional cost. The same job was inspected and quoted for by the main dealer who just quoted one price after inspection . I went with the original Halford quote because it was cheaper, however one hour after leaving the car, that quote went up and when collecting the car, only to be told further work is needed at additional cost, relating to the same job. The job is incomplete now incomplete. Not impressed.
