Very good value compared to Airport based ones. Cars are clean and staff are friendly. Slight drawback waiting for the pick up but not a problem if you don't mind the 10 to 15 min wait. Nearly always use Green Motion when at EMA.

from being picked up at East Midland airport and taken to the Hilton Hotel Green Motion desk to driving off in the rental car was reasonably easy. The car was in the category described and despite a few scratches and scuffs, hardly noticeable the car was reasonably clean. Difficult to assess properly as it was raining quite fast. On returning the car at the end of the contract the process was again quite simple. The gentlemen who attended us both times were very courteous and of good humour making the process all the more pleasurable. I will definitely use Green Motion the next time I need to rent a car.

Never use here. There is massive hidden penalties. I hired a car for 11 days with £108. It feels very attractive offer. But, in drop-off date, I am charged £36 for 2 hours late. I can understand a day charge for 2 hours late. But It doesn't make sense only a day charge is 30% of 11 days. Only evidence for this penalty is very small font of term & condition in contract. Even though they doesn't notice this penalty at pick-up date, they strongly push me that I have responsibility of reading all contents. In contract, exact sentence is you will be charged for late return. But there is no mention about how much I have to pay for late charge. And when I claim this to staff, staffs laugh and joke me "I can call lawyer for you." I think this is not polite talk to customer.

This was my first time to use Green Motion. I found the online rental process very straight forward and the prices extremely competitive. I liked the idea that they were located in a hotel very close to East Midlands Airport but not in the airport itself. A car in my chosen class was not available and I was upgraded to the next class without a fuss to a this year 2019 vehicle. Collation and return of the vehicle again was very straightforward handled extremely well by friendly staff. I will certainly be using Green Motion again.

I have used Green Motion rentals on a number of occasions and always had a positive experience, a pleasant environment (Nottingham) very friendly welcoming staff. The process to book a car and pick it up is quick. The price to rent the car is good value and I like the link to the environmental issues and options to donate to charities. It would be lovely if they could have an early drop off point as I always have to return the car a day before to catch a 7am flight the next morning (but thats my issue). I would definitely recommend this company.

Definitely do not use this company. Signed a contract saying we were allowed to drive 1805 miles, which we drove 25 under. However got charged extra because we returned it six hours early on the last day. They cancelled the included mileage on the last day due to this, even though we had already paid for it. Called for clarification and the staff member said if it has 1805 miles in your contract we will refund you. Called me back in an hour with some rubbish excuse that this was in “our terms and conditions”. They still took my money for the last day of course. Obviously trying to find some loophole despite having signed a contract. Also waited near on an hour to pick up our car upon arrival. A bunch of frauds. Do not use.

Nice new car in good condition. Carefully and accurately recorded for damage. Price for two weeks hire was very good for a location close to the airport. Price was good because the location is about 10 minutes drive from the airport. They will pick you up from the airport and take you back at the end of the hire. Savings, as compared to on-site hire are worth the small inconvenience.

Just returned a car here and can not praise the service enough. Do not be concerned that it is a shuttle service from airport. They send a mini bus to pick you up when you ring to say you have arrived and take you back when you have returned the car. The airport bus to the 'in terminal' service takes just as long and involves more walking from the bus stop. If you think that the price is too good to be true don't worry it's true. No catch ! Try them it's worth it even just to meet the team based in the Hilton airport hotel they could not be more friendly or helpful. Thanks. Keep it up please. We will be back. Cheers Colin & Helen

Good service. Good cars and friendly staff. Picked up at the airport in a clean people carrier quite promptly. From calling them once I got my bag to them arriving was about 15min. Got a bigger car that what I was expecting. So thumbs up for that. The day before I was due to drop the car back they called me to confirm my time for dropping the car back and said that they would give me an extra hour so not too rush. Quick check around the car and I was then deliverd back to the airport. Would use again for sure.

Having used Green Motion for years and have always left a 5* review on Trust Pilot for my rental experiences I would now like to leave a review on their customer service after a rental. They received a parking fine for the car I had rented and notified me of this, via email, including the fact that my card which was held on file had been debited with an administration fee as per their T&C's. This was on top of the fine, which was payable by me direct to MET. I appealed against the fine to MET and it was subsequently cancelled. I passed written confirmation of this to Green Motion and they very quickly refunded their admin fee. No hassle, no arguments, just quick, efficient customer service. Priya, the employee, who dealt with this was polite from beginning to end and is a credit to the company.

Good service and new cars. Emirhan was very helpful at the return. The inconvenience of being off site is not much different to the inconvenience of having to walk to the on site car rental services since they have cancelled the free bus shuttle service at the air port. But the green motion one is still running and is still free.

Fast and efficient pick up and transfer from the airport to their office by Sally. Once there, Matt's quick and efficient handling of my booking, and his excellent customer service made the whole experience hassle-free. The car was brand new, spotless and of a higher class than the one I had booked. Returning the car was a breeze, all paperwork sorted in under five minutes by Raj and Hussein and a quick transfer back to the airport in a brand new shuttle bus. I had never used Green Motion before but I'll definitely use them again

The rental was excellent value and the staff were very helpful. The car had very low mileage, came with a built in satnav and all kinds of mod cons, was an absolute pleasure to drive and I am already missing it. When I dropped the car off a very helpful member of staff named Matt asked if I needed a shuttle to the airport which was an unexpected surprise although I didn't need it. I would definitely recommend this company.

I collected my car from Scott at East Midlands Airport, he was both efficient and polite. The other staff there were courteous and friendly too. The car was as I expected; there was only 54 mlles worth of petrol in it but he told me where to go to get reasonably priced petrol which was fine. I returned it with the same amount in so not a problem for me.

First time with Green Motion however definitely not the last. We phoned GM on arrival at East Midlands airport and were told that the bus was already waiting for us. After a short journey we arrived at the Hilton Hotel where we were directed to the GM reception. Although quite busy the Manageress dealt with the paperwork quickly and efficiently and took us to our car. Her customer service skills were excellent AND she had upgraded the car which was a very pleasant surprise, so a big thanks for that????. It made my husband's holiday.!! When we returned the car, we accompanied one of the GM team to check over the car and then we were driven back to the airport. Simples!!

GREAT price, perfect car with only 8k miles on the clock. Staff were polite and courteous. Took a while to be picked up and collected from the airport but I guess that's the pay off for such a great price. The return it as you find it fuel policy is a bit annoying as you always put in more so you are not paying 3 times more through the hire company if you fuel it short, would have preferred fuel to full. If your in a rush use a company on site. If you can spare 45mins to an hour highly recommended. Will definitely use again.

Hiring a Van for a week was so easy at Green Motion. We arrived at the appointed time, The paperwork was minimal and was completed very quickly. The Van was in great condition and one week later on returning again the process again was completed very quickly and effortlessly. A brilliant service as we were then transported back to East Midlands Airport by a really helpful young driver who organised our heavy cases into a trolley just to make life easier. We live in Spain and have now found the perfect solution for transport on our bi-yearly visits back to the uk.....A great service!!!

Second time using Green Motion and found them very efficient. Phoned when landed at east midlands and collected to Hilton hotel about 2 miles away. Free upgrade to larger car, all done in less than 15 minutes. Returned car to Hilton hotel and dropped back to east midlands airport. Thanks John.

The car itself was great, but we had a poor service. It took nearly an hour to get the car because of waiting for the shuttle and waiting for one other person to get served. When we received the car it had barely any fuel despite it being a "full to full" policy and was showing fuel warning signs straight away. The nearest petrol station had no fuel and it took us 30 mins to find some petrol, which was really stressful when you have barely any fuel and don't know the area. When we returned it there was extra fuel in the tank which when I brought it up, was smile at and I was told "green motions thanks you" . They also were pushing to charge me for a scratch on the windscreen which was there before I got in. Thankfully I had taken a pic on my phone but it wasn't on the car description. If you use this company I'd make sure you take a thorough investigation of the car and push for full fuel!

The actual car hire process was exactly what I expected it to be and I was happy with that bit what made my experience exceptional was the employee Stuart. He will have no idea of the fact that this business weekend of mine was something that my mental health could have done without and after suffering from a few panic attacks over the last week I was very worried about going away. Stuart's manner, sense of humour and banter helped me no end and meant that at least those parts of the trip were light hearted and took my mind away from everything else. Booked car hire at short notice, got a great car at a great price! They rang me to ask if I was ready to be picked up and taken to the rental centre before I had rung them! How about that for service....they'd seen my flight land on the monitoring system. Hussein at the desk was very efficient and friendly. Have just rung him directly to book again for a much longer rental in a bigger car.

Despite their location (c.10 minutes from the airport) we found Green Motion to offer the best combination of service and price . Their counter staff were polite, efficient (especially on the second visit), sorted out any problems to our satisfaction and generally understood customer care. On the surface this appeared to be a very good deal, low price with a good vehicle spec promised (Volvo or similar). Collection was ok, the lady was helpful and friendly. This is the point where the company shows its true colours. Be very aware. Excess is £1450 unless you take out the insurance premium and £38 per day. The car I was offered was a Suzuki Vitari. When challenged I was told that they don’t have Volvos and that the Suzuki “is similar” - I am sure that Volvo would be delighted to hear that. The car was clean and can with a half tank of fuel. But I was under the impression I was getting an executive car, not a cheap town run around. Additionally be aware of the maximum 98 miles a day you are permitted to drive. Read the small print for the penalties for exceeding that before renting. Returning the car which I had fuelled and ensured was clean (the nearest petrol station is around 10miles away) was when the issue started. I took it back 24 hours early, and whilst not expecting any refund, I certainly didn’t expect to be charged any fuel charges. It amounted to around £12 a litre for the amount that the arrogant and rude assistant suggested it was under by. There is a serious hidden agenda when it comes to clawing back the low cost of the rental charge and in my opinion your a far better paying the slightly higher rates with the big 5 than using Green Motion. Not impressed at all (plus they don’t answer their phone).

Used Green Motion for first time and even though they are classed as off site they were quicker in getting me sorted with the hire car than the so called in Terminal companies who you still have to get a shuttle bus to their compounds. Also the Green Motion process was quick and efficient on both collection and return. Only thing to watch for is make sure you always have a valid CREDIT card with you, otherwise fantastic service..

Had yet another great experience with Green Motion East Midlands Airport. Hussein & his team are excellent, they are always very friendly & very helpful. The pick up from the airport to them is very efficient & they always take care of you. The car is always checked with us before & after. I will only use & recommend Green Motion, it's terrifying enough hiring a car as you hear so many horror stories with other companies but not these, everything always runs smoothly.
