Staff went out of their way to help me when picking up a car as I was unable to pick it up after a late flight.On phoning up the following morning there was no car available, but after 45 minutes of searching I was told one had been found- turned out to be hrand new with only 60 miles on the clock- awesome! Great service on returning my car..swiftly dealt with too. Shuttle bus sent from airport to take and pickup was prompt and easy. Overall a good experience and would have scored 5 if my request for a extension at the same rate could have been honoured

Very bad service. Didn’t check the car before or after. Had damage on the car before. I took pictures of it all and hertz STILL try to charge me £300 for a scratch to the vehicle that was already there. Evidence provided. They IGNORED IT! and charged anyway. DO NOT USE BAD COMPANY. THIEVES.

Awful, avoid at all cost!!! They didn't provide the car I booked, got me a massive van instead so I had to pay twice as much for petrol and stress a lot. Paul didn't seem too bothered, he also gave me the wrong pin for the gate and didn't even know how tall the van was, the drop box for the keys was broken - unacceptable service and everything that could go wrong when renting a car, did go wrong. Would never get a car from this branch again!!!!!!!

We booked, and payed, to hire a long wheelbase van, several days in advance for a house move. When we came to collect it we were told that they didn't have a van for us. Despite paying in full in advance they'd let our van to someone else. To someone else who paid a premium rate to hire at short notice maybe? We were offered a small caddy van which was no use , as we needed the biggest van to take everything 200 miles. Abysmal.

Having rented cars from Hertz at East Midlands Airport for number of years I have never had a problem. The cars are always clean & tidy and what I asked until last year when I was upgraded to the Gold Award.I have always found the staff to be helpfull but because I have never had a problem can not comment on contactability. I do find it anoying that most of the people that send into a review can only complain.

Really bad experience 2 out of 2 times. The car was new but their services are the worst. Few days after I have returned the car in the same condition they have charged my card for a congestion tax I have not paid and another £42 pounds admin fee without letting me know and when I called the branch to ask what is the charge for, obviously nobody answered and there was a extra taxed number which means I spent another £5 on my phone to find out nothing. Obviously they speculate this especially on foreigners and they call it admin fee but for the love of God £42 pounds nearly a day of work on the minimum wage. They don't even give the chance to challenge the fine because they like free money. I'm not the only one facing this problem, just google it, you will find lots of people unhappy with this and not only. Never use their services again, avoid if possible. There are lots of other better offers.

Hertz East Midlands Airport, 11th October 2013, 1800hrs. On 11th October last, I was issued with a Fiat 500 on a one-day hire basis. The size of car was ideal for my short journey. However, I have three causes for complaint. When I first sat in the car and turned on the ignition, the fuel showed 9/10ths full so I went back to the desk and the lady apologised for not showing me the note on top of the documentation pack she had which read "faulty fuel gauge". She assured me it was full and if I filled it up before returning until the nozzle clicked, it would be ok. The reading out was 12261. Before returning the car the next day, I filled up at the airport and the fuel gauge went to 10/10ths. The cost for the petrol was £21.00, the reading in was 12363 (102 miles travelled). The tank wasn't full when I got it. Then, on the outward journey, a warning message "Boot Open" flashed on the dash board. This was strange as I didn't have any luggage to put in the boot. On pulling over, it was indeed open and wouldn't close. It was closer to my destination than the airport and I continued on. Thirdly, the car, the smallest car in the Fiat range, handled like a tank on the outward journey until it was pointed out to me by my son-in-law that there was a "City" button to press that would make the steering more free. There was nothing on the Vehicle Instruction Guide issued to me at the airport about this button. In all, it was the worst car rental I have ever entered into with Hertz or any other rental provider.
