Went into jadore hair and beauty about a week ago had an awful experience. I booked In with a SENIOR STYLIST (Tiffany)who I felt as if she was too busy to even acknowledge me. She was talking to Katie the trainee I assume rudely, I was surprised at the way Tiffany was behaving. I understand it’s a busy day for hair dressing and appreciate how fast and swiftly they have to work but this was a horrible experience. She kept on looking at the clock telling me how busy she was she hardly even did anything to my hair I was so rushed out the door didn’t even get a chance to say what I thought of my hair at the time was not offered any drinks magazine etc. I came home and all the people who saw me said u have had nothing done to your hair no trim like nothing no shape what so ever. I then contacted her and was trying to express my concern but she was so unprofessional about the whole situation she didn’t even have the decency to come to the phone once again poor Katie was getting all the back log as her miserable receptionist wasn’t their. I asked if I can speak to her and just make her aware of what I feel she was just communicating through her trainee staff who seemed very unsure of the whole situation as I wanted to speak to her I even said I will call back at a convenient time and she was just making excuses and not willing to come to the phone. Tiffany then went on to shout and said I can go in and pay further more £10 for a dry cut to fix the issue. I then arranged a consultation when I went in she was like what’s the problem blaming me for causing stress within her salon I was confused thinking I haven’t done anything wrong I’m a customer paying for a service that was not fulfilled in the slightest. She went on to moan and said I’m wasting her time and was like what’s the problem at this point I had enough she ended up cutting my hair telling me Their is nothing that could go wrong it’s long straight hair. Since then I have been and showed another hair dresser she said Their is no shape it’s uneven and looks ridiculous over all a very unhappy customer disappointed in The whole experience and very upset of the way I was treated and spoken to would never go back ever again and would definitely not recommend it if you love your hair don’t go their ...!

I went for a very challenging pixie haircut. Wasn't sure how it was going to turn out and i was scared but I'm completely satisfied with the cut. Alex was not very experienced with pixies but Tiffany was guiding her through. Love it! Would definitely recommend for any haircut but Tiff does a better job at pixies x

This was my first experience with Jadore and I left the salon feeling happy and confident with the results. I asked for a Balayage and was impressed with the outcome of this. The staff are professional and provide great customer service. Tiff and Katie were brilliant and made me feel very comfortable! They advised me on how I can maintain healthy hair and overall they were knowledgeable about hair needs and care. I felt pampered and my hair was transformed to look extremely healthy and exactly how I wanted it to look. I will definitely continue to book my hair appointments with Jadore!

I have been coming to J’adore hair for around three years now. Hands down it is the best salon I’ve been too and wouldn’t go anywhere else now! The salon itself has such a comfortable atmosphere to it. The staff are super welcoming and friendly. My natural hair is dark brown and Tiffany has bought my hair to a beautiful light blonde. I have had my hair done previously at other salons and no one had ever managed to get it to a perfect blonde the way Tiffany has. I was also quite worried that the bleach will damage my hair as this has happened when previous stylists have bleached it but to my surprise my hair is in the best condition it has been in YEARS since coming to J’adore!! I will never go to another stylist/salon again. Always a delight visiting the salon :)

Visited today and Alexandra cut my hair into a bob. Was quite nervous as I wanted it to all be one length but she did an amazing job and was really lovely! with student discount a wash, cut and blow dry was only £20, which is amazing value for money. Will definitely be back!

I went to this salon several times over the course of one year. How come, since I'm giving it only 2 stars now? The main reason - I was new in the UK and I had heard horror stories about several other salones in Notts. So I thought I won't get better than J'adore for the price I could afford (what a mistake!). To be fair to the salon, they really did offer a good student deal. And the job they would do in most cases (but not always!) was better alternative than not cutting/colouring my hair for months. So here are my experiences: Although I always requested the same hairstyle (Tiffany was my stylist in all but one horrible occasion, see below), the result would often vary. I can already see their answer saying that I didn't explain properly what I wanted, but trust me - my English is not that bad. In salon which I discovered later on, stylists understood me perfectly right away. Also, if I come to a salon repeatedly, a skilled stylist should become familiar with my hair and know what they can and cannot do. That didn't happen here. Tiffany does a decent job if you want a very simple haircut - everything other than that is gambling. You can get a fair haircut once, and next time (same explanation) have a sloppy version of what you wanted. However, my worst experience was with the junior stylist (blond girl, forgot her name), who cut my very thick, healty hair with a trimmer scissors (reassuring me all would be ok). Not only was it uncomfortable and the hairstyle I got was hard to shape at home, but my hair kept on falling out for days after the appointment!! Tiffany tried to do the same once afterwards (she was in a rush and I guess she was trying to save time), but when I strictly forbade it, she did not insist. My biggest general complaints for this salon are: a) customer service (dealing with complaints) If I tried to ask about procedure they are applying or intervene and say what they were doing might not be exaclty what I want, Tiffany would cut me off saying sth like ''honey, I have 20 years of experience in this job, I know what I'm doing''. Very rarely did I feel she really listened to and cared about my comments. My genuine advice to everyone there is: try listening to your customers, not just blurting out excuses the moment someone makes a kind enquiry. b) sloppiness/negligence when washing off hair colour At the end of almost every treatment I would be left with patches of colour on my face (c'mon, how can you let a customer out of your salon with hair colour on their cheeks?). In the end I just decided to clean these stains myself, bcs they didn't seem capable of doing it even after I pointed out several times that I have brown patches on my face. My msg to all the confused internationals who don't know which reviews to believe - J'Adore is not the worst place in Notts and they offer decent student prices, but be aware of what you'll have to put up with. In my opinion, there are much better salons! I wouldn't be writing such a long review if I dind't stand behind that opinion. P.S. (response to the comment from the salon) This is my first review, I haven't changed it or written anything else before. And why wouldn't I leave a comment after 5 months? I was thinking whether to do it or not, since I normally don't like leaving negative comments, but I thought others deserve a full picture. I also stated your positive sides - those who are fine with that will still come. All the best, M

Overall I had a good experience. My stylist was nice and did a good job on my hair. However, I didn’t have my hair cut by the stylist I booked with and was not informed of this before hand or upon arrival. It may have been that the stylist I booked with did not turn up, as the hairdresser I had did seem to rush a bit as I was in and out in half an hour! I was also surprised that I was not offered to have my hair straightened even though I was paying for cut and blow dry, so I had to ask so that my hair wasn’t just left after being blowdried! I have also since found out that they offer student discount, and although I told my stylist I was a Student, she didn’t inform me of this which seems unfair.

I felt at ease as soon as I walked in was a little anxious before as it was my first time visiting the salon. Molly cut my hair and did so perfectly, my hair was very long and thick and gets tangled and knotty very easily however she was very patient and battled through. I will definitely be visiting again and have already recommended to a friend!

I have been coming to j'adore to get my hair done for years now and would not go anywhere else. I have always had Tiff who is a hair miracle worker! But I know the other hairdressers are amazing too after seeing their work on clients. I am always made to feel so comfortable and you are looked after as soon as you walk through the door. I have long, dark thick Asian hair and to get this to blonde is no mean feet and Tiff gets it right every time. Just amazing, thank you!

It was worst experience ever in my life  ,for their service and dealing with customers also charging extra money for no reason as it was in offer choose that the toner is free but they charge an extra money or i will lost the deposit  and i didn't get the dye we agreed about as she gave me different reasons which weren't. SO I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT EVER

This is a great place to get your hair cut by a professional for a very reasonable price for Nottingham City Centre. This is now my regular hairdressers. I have recommended J'adore to several friends who now go too. They are lovely here. Highly recommended.

I had a dry trim by Alexandra the junior stylist who was lovely! She listened to what i wanted and did everything right, overall very happy. However, unsure as to why student discount doesn't apply on dry trims, and wasn't offered the 10% first time discount. However, will be coming back

I visited j’adore hair and beauty last week for a big hair transformation, I went from brunette to blonde in just one sitting! The staff were lovely, the salon was very clean and after a few hours I left feeling amazing! Tiffany really knows her stuff when it comes to hair and I trusted her completely to work her magic. I’ve finally found a salon I will keep returning to and I honestly couldn’t be happier. Would highly recommend this salon!

I went to my appointment at this place thinking I would leave with lovely caramel brown highlights but I left with inconsistent red streaks and extremely harsh hair that will not stop falling out due to the hairdresser's aggressive techniques in combing and washing my hair. My hair was starting to become naturally healthy in recent years and this experience has reversed all of the hard work I have been putting in to strengthen it. I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy. If you claim to be professional with 20 years experience why would the stylist leave the highlights in for 3 hours, until the chemicals seeped into my scalp and my head got hot causing all the moisture to be sucked out of my hair? If she had seen the condition of my hair she should have left it alone and communicated with me that it would be a near impossible task to complete my request for healthy highlights. But instead she kept going and it just got worse. I was told by a far more experienced specialist at a different salon that it would cost a lot of money to reconstruct my hair, so you telling me that £30 and a free mask is worth all of my losses is quite frankly offensive. If you really care for your hair, save it and do not come to this place.

I have been coming to jadore hair for so long, and they never cease to amaze me! I had a big chop a while ago and now after my hair grew I went and got the oplax keratin treatment, and I kid you not my curly hair is now so easy to deal with and I now can dry it and straighten it in 20 mins when it usually takes me an hour and a half. And I’m so satisfied with the work everytime I come in. The staff are all friendly and so lovely!! Makes the experience even better.

Went to see Tiff to get balayage yesterday. All I can say is I will never go anywhere else. She was amazing. Katy was super cute and makes the nicest coffee! I was soo happy with how my hair turned out. Definitely surpassed my expectations. My hair was jet black and I feel a transformed woman haha. Absolutely love my new hair! My sister also got hers done from Tiff and came back singing Jadores praises so I took the plunge to get my never died hair before done aswell! I woild definitely recommend Jadore! I would like to add one thing to my review however..to girls who are looking to have balayage done..because I've seen some negative reviews on here from girls who pretty much had dark to jet black hair. Please don't find a pic of balayage and go to a hairdresser asking the exact same thing for yourself. Keep your expectations realistic. If you have dark to jet black hair I can absolutely promise you that if you went to every other salon in Nottingham and asked them to copy a balayage which is light in colour they would tell you straight up they can not do it in one sitting. You will pay extortionate amounts of money, have to go a few times and still they will never guarantee you will have hair that looks like the picture you showed them. I know this Because my sister went through this before she finally went to Tiff at Jadore. Honestly what Tiff does as Jadore is phenomenal. Their prices are super reasonable and she is very experienced and talented. Just have realistic expectations when you go and you will never be disappointed. Xx

Yesterday was my first time going to J'adore, I booked in for balayage with a cut and blow dry with Alexandra and I'm absolutely in love with the colour! Alexandra was lovely and very helpful in helping me choose a colour and the techniques she used to colour and cut have meant it has turned out just as I wanted! Thank you so much, so happy I've finally found the perfect salon in Notts! Xx

I went to get my balayage done. I showed Tiffany a picture of what I wanted. After it was finished, I looked in to the mirror it was nothing like the picture I showed her. I came out looking like a tiger, extreamly strippy. I asked her what happened she said "if you wanted that colour we'll have to lift it even more and all your other hair" blah blah blah basically just saying every excuse there is and just trying to get me to leave. I'm like Tiffany .. sis ..if you needed to lift more to get to the colour I wanted then why didn't just you do that in the first place?!!?? If you're not able to achieve the colour I wanted why didn't you tell me?!? They strike me as incredibly lazy just not wanting to lift my hair colour anymore. And then later on they had the audacity to post a picture of my hair on their Instagram even though they knew the client was not happy. Also I did not conscent for them to post it. Trash place Response: A: When I show someone a picture, I expect them to know that I want to look exactly like the picture I showed them. I told you I didn't want so much contrast on top of my head *pointing to the picture. That meant that I want the brown root colour to be a similar colour to the highlights and gradually would get lighter at the bottom as more highlights are added. Instead now the top has more contrast then the bottom. Note that I asked you while I was sitting there waiting for my hair to lift if you were choosing a base colour for the rest of my hair to which you said that "we'll see what you need after the lift" to which I thought fair enough lets see how light the highlight will get then we'll choose the base root colour. B: I told you I didn't like it , I said "I don't like it", I was very clear about that. I was waiting for you to offer to rectify the situation instead you just gave me excuses, in which I got tired and left. C: If you couldn't lift it, why didn't you tell me in the beginning instead waited till you were done? D: I said you can take the photo, not post it online.

I have found my most favourite salon. This place offers outstanding hair styling along with brilliant customer care. For my sisters who wear hijab, this is a very trustworthy place and you will not be disappointed. Tiffany who cut my hair was so careful that the curtain they pull around was kept closed, and when a man walked into the salon she was quick to ensure he didn't come close to the curtain in case there was no privacy. Tiffany has so much experience in cutting hair that I felt comfortable she knew what she was doing. She listened to what I wanted but put her expertise to practice when she suggested some ideas. The final hair cut was outstanding and I was very pleased. I would recommend this place to any woman on this planet in a heartbeat. I cannot wait for my next visit Insha'Allah.

1-I was told there was a student discount on the keratin treatment, when it was time to pay I was told by the stylist that no, the discount doesn't apply to the keratin. No apology whatsoever. 2-At first, the result of the keratin was alright, two weeks later my hair is back to being frizzy even though I followed the instructions. Not worth 190£! 3-Finally, I wanted the balayage to look as grey as possible, was told the exact shade couldn't be achieved but darker tones are fine, so I agreed but my hair turned out to be an ugly shade of yellow (still yellow after the purple shampoo). Not satisfied. *The staff were very friendly, but I don't recommend this place anyway.

I went in on Saturday expecting things to take a while as I had booked a balayage with a junior stylist, my hair colour is as i wanted but my cut was rushed as I had been in the salon for almost 5 hours and had to leave as I had to go pick up my kids. Also i feel the cost was quite steep as I had an all over hair folour as well as balayage which at other salons costs around £10-15 but here I was charged an extra £30 so in total I paid £80 which I could have paid and got done at another salon in around half the time with a cut that I actually liked and had time taken on. The stylist was really nice but I wouldn’t be using this salon again, the towels were also coloured and crusty which I didnt really find very professional.

Back when my schedule was less tight and I wasn't working full time, I had a couple of haircuts with Tiff and thought she was amazing because she was so confident cutting my thick hair. I'm now in a full time job and Tiff is only around a few hours of some days of the week, so she's become gradually more and more difficult to get hold of. J'adore make you pay a 50% deposit on appointments, which I've never encountered before, but was happy to go along with. I had a best friend's wedding to go to last week and booked myself a day off work to get my hair cut and get other stuff done in preparation for the day. Morning of the appointment and I was already outside the salon (which is out of my way anyway), and I got a phone call saying Tiff was ill and had to cancel the appointment. Fair enough - you can't help being ill. The issue was that there was no plan B and the girls weren't prepared for it. If Tiff has to be off sick and I've booked a day off work to get my hair done, she should make herself available after work one day so that I can still get my appointment in time for the wedding. I'd also paid a 50% deposit on the appointment, which the girls should have given me back on the spot but refused to. Instead I had to wait to get this back over the phone. Props to the girl with the short blonde hair and the piercing though - she cut my fringe once in an emergency (because Tiff is obviously never around) and was the only approachable one on the team. Perhaps she should be taking care of their client relationships. I got an immediate appointment at Aveda that same morning (who don't ask for a ridiculous deposit by the way) with a senior stylist and their prices are competitive with J'adore's, they weren't scared of my thick hair, plus I also got a complimentary massage and pot of tea! It''s also a MUCH nicer salon in general. The stylist at Aveda asked where I'd had my hair cut previously and showed me how it had been cut unevenly - when I told her it was cut by the woman running J'adore she was shocked that someone running a company could give such an awful cut. Granted, my hair has been through some tough times in the past before Tiff started cutting my hair, but there's no accounting for an uneven cut. I now have a wonderful haircut and am so happy with it, and won't be wasting my time or money at J'adore any more. Other things to note about J'adore: One of the girls doing their front of house is incompetent over the phone and in person and really shouldn't be doing her job. I always found myself procrastinating over booking appointments because I knew that what should be a quick phone call would turn into something that goes on forever and eats into my time. Now that I know I can get an appointment promptly when calling Aveda this isn't an issue anymore! Oh, and once I booked myself in for a fringe cut and due to a clear lack of communication between their staff I ended up getting a full haircut and then having to pay for it. I said nothing at the time as I figured that I was almost due for a haircut anyway so didn't really mind getting it done then either - but seriously, you guys need to communicate with each other and with your clients! All in all, a total shambles. I feel sorry for the girls training at this place as the woman training you up is giving people terrible cuts herself - I wouldn't want that on my CV!

So in total I've been three times. I've never really been to the hairdresser as my mum usually does it for me so granted I have nothing to compare to. Before I start I want to stress that Tiffany was very nice and never mean or rude but I didnt have the greatest experience. The first time I went was on my birthday, I went in and she sat me down and just got stuck in by sectioning my hair etc. At this point I hadn't even been told how much it would cost and she was actually making me feel quite intimidated by just pushing me into it, Tiffany was nice and friendly so I just went with it and asked her to dye my hair red and give it a cut. She then kept changing the price until finally she asked for £75 for the lot. This was way above how much I had in mind but I've never paid for it in my life so I just assumed that was fine. Whilst cutting my hair I kept telling her how I wanted it and she would be like, "like this? *snip snip snip* yeah?" whilst in my head thinking, no but its a bit late now... It was also a bit uncomfortable watching the way she spoke to her apprentice. The other two times I went in I asked for red with blonde tips, so a dye job and nothing else. I felt rushed both times and actually like I was in the way. The first time I was charged £45, I was happy. The second time i got charged £75 again, when I asked her why she said "oh its because i did it different sorry i forgot to tell you" What i didn't understand is why i got charged the same amount when i got way more done including an actual hair cut the first time. I left feeling upset, confused and a little taken advantage of. I don't want to go back simply because of the way I was made to feel and the way she did her pricing.

Had a few cut and blow drys here, always with Surrane but yesterday I had another stylist. Both stylists were lovely and welcoming and gave me the cut I was looking for. Cannot fault either of them. I only have one negative with the salon from my visit yesterday and that is the new receptionist (the one with really long hair) was actually quite rude and unwelcoming. I booked my appointment the day before and I was abruptly told she had to take a deposit from me - something which I have never ever had to do at any salon before. I didn't have a problem doing it but the way I was told could've been more polite. It's a shame because this is my first negative experience here. If i had not have had my hair cut here before I would've walked out and not booked based on her manner. I only stayed because I've always been so happy with my haircuts from here. All the rest of the team are always so lovely especially the other younger member with pinky blonde hair.

Myself and my daughter cut our hair around a month ago with a new hair dress Molly, both £10 each. After having had the hair cut the receptionist and the hair dresser convinced us to book another appoitnment in July, for £10 again as this was a special offer. We were told to pay an immediate deposit of £5 and then £5 when we have the appointment. I rang in to ask about when the hair cut would be and they said they have tried ringing me multiple times as Molly has left and now we don't get the haircut with Molly. I however needed a haircut so require one expecting the same price. The lady on the phone, rudely said we have to pay £15 extra if we wanted a haircut. When saying that is not fair as we booked and were promised a haircut, she then rudely said it was not their problem. As a customer it is anyone but my problem, since it's someone they hired who has left and so they are responsible for my haircut seeing as I've already paid a deposit, also to receive such rudeness over the phone was really disappointing since I have enjoyed getting my haircuts here.
