Went in last week and had an amazing experience. I came to purchase a barbeque which I came in for the week before but it was not in stock. I really wanted the barbeque so I asked a member of staff I believe was called Firat to check if it was in stock and he looked but could not find it and apologised for the inconvenience. I asked if I could buy the display one and he said normally they cannot sell displays but was courteous and asked his Manager. By luck the manager agreed to sell it for a discounted price of £20 off. Then Firat helped by bringing the barbeque over to my car and helping me put it in the boot as it was quite heavy. This showed great customer service and I definitely will be back again!

I like the shop, but service is absolutely awful. Was waiting on the till with two cashiers working for 15 minutes just to get some cutlery, and had to leave with nothing, as both were busy with returning goods customers (which takes a lot of time) and decided to close one of the tills when they’ve finished. I was second in the queue, but 15 minutes wait is just too long and the first cashier wasn’t even half way through. Couldn’t believe that they closed the till without just selling me some spoons and having 3 workers chatting about. ????????♀️????????♀️????????♀️

Lackluster Customer Service:
Went in there on Tuesday and has a look around the store. Went past sales staff standing in a group talking and laughing with each other. Moved on and eventually came to the Kettles, saw one that I 'd like, but couldn't find it in a box so went searching for a sales assistant but none were to be found. So went home and checked on the Dunelm Website, the website said that it was in stock at Barnet so I did the "Click and collect"', I'm supposed to receive a text message after three hours to say that it is available - two days later I'm still waiting for that Text.
Undeterred I checked the website on Wednesday and the kettle was listed as being in stock at Barnet, so I went to the store again. Of course I couldn't find the kettle in a box so I managed to find a sales assistant, (laughing and talking in a group of sales assistants to one side of the store), very helpful sales assistant searched the stock room to tell me that the item was out of stock. Oh and when I complained to head office using the website, I got no reply.
So you may have to search for Sales Assistants, don't believe their website when it says something is in stock at a particular store, and I wouldn't waste your time in complaining.
Edit:- 3 days after making the complaint, still no responce from Dunelm. And four days after doing the "Click & Collect" I'm still waiting for that Text.
Update: the following Monday Customer services finally replied: the "Click and Collect" had mysteriously cancelled itself, but as a gesture of goodwill they offered to deliver the item waving the delivery charge.

Terrible customer service. Called the store on a number of occasion of the course of 3 weeks, about a potential return but no answer. I also submitted the online form which states they will respond within 72 however they have failed to do so. When I did get a response they told me to just call the store.

Very disappointed with the little cafe here and the staff are not trained very well in customer service - they spend lots of time standing around chatting to one another - the cafe serves cheap bread and butter - also was given a dirty knife to use - Nasty.
