The customer service here is just zero. I had stopped coming here as a regular about 3 years ago and occasionally pop in especially when I am really desperate and i am always reminded about why I stopped coming. Staff and owner are rude, they often rush your nails and obviously talk about their customers in their native language. Nails usually done well but if you want to enjoy the rest of your day, I wouldn’t bother

Very fast service but I also came in at a great time early afternoon. I really do like my nails but they could have been done a tad neater. Nail Technician seemed to be focused but not very smiley and any attempt for communication was very small. Overall I gave it 4 stars because my nails came out great but customer service could be improved.

Very good quality and affordable. Always packed as high demand. Yen herself has ran her business successfully in Hackney for over 15years. She is very respected, very talented and runs her shop with an iron fist. Highly sought after. Expect 2hrs wait during peak times (weekends, special occasions)

can't wait till you reopen.. when Yen? yeah its a mad nail salon, but they're really good. its a family business. and families are complicated. and this business is the best nail salon around. don't expect to glossy customer service, and boujji west london fakey 'pampering' vibes. you may have to wait, we run on yen's time! But the prices are hard to beat for the quality. equally if theres something wrong it always gets resolved because they are fair.

So I really loved this place have come here religiously. I would have given 5 stars but received quite shocking service (poor attitude and nails were poorly done) from the young guy who is usually really nice and accommodating. The kind of service I wouldn't expect as a new customer let alone a loyal customer.. Nevertheless 4 stars as one bad apple/ shouldn't spoil the lot. Hoping to get better service if I decide to come back.

Every time I do my nails here they break easily after few days ( with a full set acrylic ). They are not very nice. There are better salons even if you have to spend few quid more.

I’d read the poor reviews but was willing to give it a shot as it’s local and it affordable but there was no indication of how long I’d be waiting, no colours to look through while I waited and then the actual treatment was poorly done and rushed so that the young guy could get back to his phone! At the end he signalled he was finished and when I looked there were loads of edges that needed filing down and the polish was so uneven. Knowing I’d only have time for him to file the nails I requested it and he filed one down poorly. Only when I got back did I realise that there are actual brush hairs under the polish of one of my nails, dirt / dust under the colour of others and patches where there is no colour at all - all of which adds to the uneven edges at the top of my nails. All in all a terrible job and I wouldn’t entertain the idea of giving them my money again when there’s perfectly good, slightly more expensive nail salons in the area.

Normal nail shop closed so took a chance & came here .Read a lot of bad reviews about this nail shop as you see below but took a chance anyway But really really glad I did , excellent nail job (full set)
Only reason wasn’t a 5* was due to the nail colours in the book not being available & lack of effort to actually see if it was somewhere else.
Colours not matching book samples.
And the person which I can only guess is the manager arguing with the other nail technician as a customer was eating food in the shop .
Which came across embarrassing for him & uncomfortable to sit in front of seen as she was doing my nails.
Apart from this which I hope was a one off
Excellent service & nail job
Will 100% come back again.
Think I’ve found my new nail shop .

Sloppy service structure; first come first service style. You don’t book an appointment, you just show up and wait ... You pay before you get your nails done and I felt rushed because there were 5 other girls waiting beside me to get their nails done. I’ve just had much much better for the same price or less

I was not looking forward to my pedicure due to all of the negative reviews I found online however I was desperate for one and they were the only place locally not fully booked. I have to say the guy who did my pedicure was fantastic. Ive had pedicures every few weeks for around 7years now by various different salons and I have to say this was the best. He really paid attention to my feet aswell as my nails. Definitely going back!!

Very rude staff. I get the same nail design pretty much every time I go there and for whatever reason during today’s visit the staff wanted to argue with me about the design and the number of nail varnish coats - to further prove their point about the fragility of the nail design, the nail tech deliberately reduced the drying time for the nails! Why would you jeopardise the nail life to prove a point. Needless to say I won’t be visiting again!!!!

I had the most awkward experience there, the guy doing my nails chose to confront a customer for leaving a bad review even though she was just waiting for her friend to finish her nails. The staff members were totally disrespectful, unprofessional and just plain rude. I would not recommend them to groom a dogs nails. The initial wait wasn’t too long but they tried to make me wait an hour plus just to quickly paint my toes. I had to go elsewhere which was really inconveniencing. Very sad experience

The only thing that lets this place down is the people working there. They will stop doing your nails to talk to each other (and I don't mean make a passing comment, I mean BIG conversation) or be so engrossed in their conversation that they make a mistake with your nails. Nobody wants someone yelling over their head in a different language when you just want your nails painted. All they need to do is stop talking and it would be a great place.

Boycott Yens! The reviews say it all. I myself have spent thousands on my nails in Yens, for such a rude & unprofessional experience.
I’ve finally decided to NEVER go back. This place do not even great you upon arrival!! I have spoken to some big influencers on ways to make stores like yens known for what they really are. And behold, they will soon get what they deserve. Ask yourself, what are you spending your money on, rude service, rough workers, unprofessionalism? The nail shop two doors down are completely better. Give it a try people, that’s money well spent!

Have been coming to Yen’s on and off for over a year now. Each time I leave thinking I’m not going there again! For some reason because it’s easy and close to my house I find myself heading black there. However, today’s experience has confirmed this will be my last visit. On a previous occasion I had Shellac nails with a pale blue colour. A few days later it had changed to a yellow tinge on some nails. I do not smoke and I had not used any cleaning products which was what I was met with on my return to the salon. I had to pay for the tinged nails to be redone! I usually have shellac mani and pedi which costs £40 for both with having more than one treatment. However, this honestly can change. I arrived this week to have the same treatments to be told it was £45, not a huge amount more, just frustrating as I had only taken £40 out of the cash machine. I was left with no choice but to not have a manicure on my hands. I was also told to pay before my treatment which I find very odd and it takes something away from what should be a relaxing experience.
There is zero customer service, no welcome or friendly approach and you feel as though you should be grateful if any treatment. During the shellac toes I was asked if I wanted a third coat, this was obviously needed as the polish still looked translucent. The rude look I received was ridiculous. There wasn’t a thank you at the end of the treatments, the ladies completing them just got up and walked away to their next customer. Not an enjoyable, relaxing treat as you would expect.
The salon positives are that it’s clean and tidy.

The salon was very busy and i had to wait for 40 minutes to have my shellac done. Within 1 hour of getting home it has chipped, which I've never had with shellac. The manicurist didn't cap my nails and I have smudges of polish left on my fingers. Really disappointed.

It has been a very long time since i saw a price list in this nail bar. I went early September for a shellac gel acrylic mani and shellac pedi and paid £65!!!
The shop was empty when i arrived but i was rushed around and frequently interrupted while explaining what i wanted but them demanding i pay now!! I ended up trying to rustle through my bag when she started shaping the acrylics as it cost more. She wouldn't let go out my hand but kept saying "pay now, pay now yeah".
The pedicure was rushed and they tried to cheat me out of a full pedicure as they clearly do not remember me as a "regular". They rushed me from the pedicure seat to the table. Its like 5 steps, like they didn't even let me slip my feet into my shoes kind of rushing, they lady picked up my shoes & put them by the table.....
I had coffin shaped nails which was an extra £5 and then i had two nails painted in a different colour, an extra £3 each. Oh and there was an extra charge of £7 because i used the gel acrylic! It's not bad but with no price list to adhere by and the long pauses to think if the price .. it was really sketchy.
I normally do a simple mani pedi but thought id give the gel acrylics and shellac a try again. KIM, did my arcylics and she moves very fast which is good when the store is busy but it wasn't. I told her there is no rush please take her time, she essentially ignored me n started chatting ti her colleagues, i couldn't understand. RUDE.
When my nails had dried, i noticed two nails beds were wonky. Not the plastic nail thats glued to your nail, the gel acrylic!! How is that even a thing? Anyway, she said i should have noticed sooner and if i want it removed and done again i would have to pay. Then an orchestra of chatting commenced amoungst all the staff for a few minutes before i simply just walked out.
Returning to take them off was another problem. I went with my mother and i was completely skipped in the queue. When i mentioned erm excuse i am next, they said i would be seeing the same technician as my mum?! The nail bar was soo busy and the manager was heated from arguing with another customer regarding price but we had been sat an hour before they started her nails and we didn't have the time to sit and watch each other have our nails removed and repainted or redone in such a busy n very hostile enviornment. The manager was really triggered by her argument.
This last experience with Yens is surely my last. This used to be the best nail shop in Clapton but oh how the atmosphere n drive of the business changed. It's a no from me.

I went there yesterday with some friends after not going there for about two years due to a bad experience in 2016. This visit confirmed I will never spend my money there again.
I wanted a pedi and full set acrylic I was asked to pay before my treatment which was fine. My pedi was average, as the lady rushed to finish me off. I was told I would get my nails done after my pedi I waited 40 mins and no one came to do my nails. By the time the owner was now ready to tend to me after doing miscellaneous task my two friends had finished their nails, so I requested my money back upon doing so her son was very rude to me and acted as if they were doing me a favour. I took my money back and left. Never again. No people skills whatsoever.

Was not even a week and my shellac nails cracked. Went back to ask them to fix it they agreed. I find the staff rude and totally unprofessional. I am 62yrs old and this guy was so rough I pray to god I don't get fungi nails.

Do not waste your money here, some staff are rude and unwelcoming, went here 21st Dec 17 for mani/pedi with shellac had to go back 23rd Dec 17 as 4 nails had chipped, 2 days later it’s starting to chip again.
