I have been using Koko since it opened and have watched a few of the stylists train up from trainees to senior stylists. I really wouldn’t go anywhere else. A happy family team they are. Friendly but staying professional and nothing is too much trouble. Always do a great job on my colouring, cuts, updo’s and blow drying.

This was my first time at the salon, and I emailed to ask who would be best suited to cut my hair providing reference photos. Absolutely appalled at what was done to my hair. Uncentered undercut, jagged lines, uneven on both sides, not shaped and no fade. Even my 7year old nephew would have done a better job! To think I paid so much for such poor hairdressing skills and service. Had to spend more money to get it fixed and because it was so bad it couldn't be fixed. If the hairdresser didn't feel confident in what was being asked of her, it would have been much more professional to say no or ask for help. As you can see the result was no where near close to what I had asked for. Will not be coming back and would appreciate not being offered a free Blowdry and cut because that does not make up for the disaster on my head.

I really wanted a haircut after not having one for months during quarantine. I was nervous about going as it was my first time at Koko, but when I arrived I was quickly put at ease when I was greeted by the nice receptionist. Tia started me off with shampooing and a relaxing head massage. She's amazing! Then Aga cut, blow-dried and styled my hair. Aga listened attentively to what I wanted for my hair and made sure to double-check the length and style throughout the process. As I left, I was thanked with smiles. Wonderful customer service, everyone was very kind and I felt well cared for :)
Update: I got a haircut a year later from my original review so on 05 May 2021. It was amazing, service was excellent and Aga was just as attentive as last time. Still highly recommend!

Its taken me quite a while to write this as to be honest I am still made about it all but as this place is still operating people need to know what they are about to get. I had the worst hair color ever at Koko by Ashlie, it was so bad the roots and the rest of the hair didn't match, in fact the highlighted roots had a near green tinge which I didn't notice until I got home. Sadly I was going on a flight the next day so couldn't do anything about it. My husband was having his hair done there by Gary I think one of the then managers and he told him how bad my hair was so he asked me to go back in. So I did, BIG mistake! I was told they would have to die my hair back to its original color before they could do anything, Leah did this and died my hair almost black! I'm naturally a mousey blonde, have been my entire life so you can imagine how horrified I was to have hair almost goth black! I literally went home and cried and didn't want to go out. Sadly I had a funeral to attend and there was no way I was going with goth black hair so they attempted to lighten it again, it just looked awful! Had to leave it for months to attempt to grow out and get the condition back to my hair which had always been good, prior to these cowboys touching it. Went to George Northwood in London who actually sorted it all out for me, best money I have ever spent. Avoid this place, unless she has grown up since this incident Ashlie was probably too hungover to do my hair on the day it went wrong as I had to listen to her drunken night out stories while getting my hair totally screwed over. I even had to pay for some of the work done to 'attempt' to make my hair vaguely back to normal, shocking!

Steph always gets my hair perfect She knows exactly what is right for my hair I leave it to her and she does a wonderful job. I could never imagine having anyone else. Also little Georgy she does the best head massage I have ever had in my life you are brilliant .

The Koko Hair is fantastic! The male hairstylist Ashley was truly experienced with my type of hair (curly hair) he did not burn or cut it the same way as any stylist thinking that curly hair could be cut the same way as straight or wavy hair, and the atmosphere was great! Overall, it was a fantastic experience for me, and I'm sure it would be the same for everyone.

I’ve been here twice to have my hair cut by Lucy.
My partner was so impressed with my cut, that she decided she’d book a cut and colour with Charlotte (colour) and Lucy (cut).
My partner was adamant she wouldn’t go anywhere other than her now previous salon, but that has all changed as she’s delighted with her cut and colour! She’s happy as she looks fab, which also makes me happy!
I’m having my first colour tomorrow and I have absolutely no worries. Actually looking forward to it!
I can definitely highly recommend Koko.

Nothing to complain about in regards to my haircut, but overall really bad service. No attention to detail, my hairdresser was really rough and the lady who washed my hair sat me up before towel drying my hair properly so quite a bit of water ran down my neck and back. Felt rushed and careless. Not going back.

Best Hair Salon Ever! Lucy is definitely the best hairdresser I've ever had too. She knows exactly what I want without having to explain. She makes my hair look amazing every time and never disappoints. She even went the extra mile and showed me how I could style my hair for a wedding - I just hope I can replicate it when the time comes! I don't think I'll go to any other salon in the future.

Roxy took me through my consultation and was really helpful and informative about different options for colouring my hair, which I had never had done professionally before. Came away with exactly the cut I wanted and a fresh new colour to undo years of self-dye jobs. Will definitely be going back :)

Have been going to this salon ever since it opened and quite frankly I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Tucked away just off the High Street in Tunsgate, it is offers a tranquil, inclusive retreat away from the main drag. KoKo exudes individuality without being self consciously trendy. All the stylists are top class, and the whole team from juniors, receptionists, stylists through to the hands-on owner Steve make each client feel welcome and valued.

For 26 years now I have jumped from hairdresser to hairdresser as I have never seemed to have the correct hairstylist to dye my hair the way I want, however, coming to KoKo I am now never leaving! The lady was sweet and did exactly what I asked and my hair felt and looked amazing! Can’t wait to go back!

Best hairdressers - all so lovely, they really take the time with all their clients to make them feel comfortable and will always help each other out too.
Smiles everywhere from the staff and the clients, it's a great atmosphere in there.
I started going to Koko a few years ago as they were the only hairdressers near me to offer Olaplex and saved my hair, though now I have moved to Bristol I can't find a hairdressers I like anywhere near as much, so I plan my appointments around whenever I am back in the Guildford area.

My hair is a colorists nightmare. It doesn't do what it is supposed to do and if a hair stylist and I decide on a shade of light brown or dark blonde, it never ever turns out that way! It always go straight to black. Even a blonde shade! I have been to Koko three times now, the third time being today and the lovely Steph coloured and cut my hair. I can honestly say that she is the best stylist I have ever been to. Not just because she is a colour genius (no seriously she is, my hair actually went the colour we chose in the book....what?!?! :D ) but she is so professional. She offered me great advice with regards to hair care and sits with you and discusses all the options rather than just throws a book at you to chose a colour and gets on! Its the little things that add to the whole experience and I believe that Koko as a whole team offer such a wonderful experience, from the lovely girls on reception to the stylists and colorists making your hair fabulous :) Thanks guys, you definitely have a new regular!
