I went for a different variety of Kale and they did not disappoint. Plus the staff is just wonderful. Great way to spend a cool Saturday morning. Can wait to find a spot for them amongst the rest of the garden friends ????

I recently moved back to the Richmond area and was on the hunt for a local Nursery to snag some of my spring plants -- this place is a must go! They have a great selection, I could have spent another hour (or two) there, really. Very friendly and helpful staff, too! I'll be back soon!

This is my favorite garden center in town. It's like a little oasis! They have a great selection and the most helpful staff, plus a really cute gift shop I always find good gifts in. They also have an excellent selection of garden art and pots. It's just a beautiful, pleasant place to shop where I always find a treasure!

Sneed's hands down has some of the nicest and most knowledgeable staff around. Selection of indoor and outdoor plants and prices are great. Very nice local nursery. Good selection of annuals, esp. ones that at the big box stores. They also have nice selection of herbs, perriniels, shrubs and trees. Staff are very helpful.

Sneed's is my go-to garden center for high quality material and generally hard to find plants. The plants are healthy and even those in the "Charlie Brown" (discount) plant area are worth rescuing. The staff is friendly and highly knowledgeable. Cricket (the garden center cat) is certainly an added benefit of your visit as well!

Very knowledgeable, very friendly, very helpful staff. After wandering cluelessly for about 2 minutes, someone working there noticed and asked if I needed help. They knew exactly where to go to find what I was looking for (cat friendly house plants) and even offered other suggestions and info I wouldn't have thought of. Plants are healthy and in good condition.

Amazing collection of plants, herbs, vegetables and trees. Ample parking space. Very friendly, attentive, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Was greeted when I arrived, thanked when I left. Ample signs of maintaining social distancing. Enough space to maintain social distancing. Staff had mask on. Would visit again

Very nice little nursery, not something I expected to find in a place like Richmond. Unfortunately we came during the winter time so the outside didn't have a lot going on, but they had a nice inside section. Plenty of tillandsia, some of the healthiest I've honestly seen most anywhere. Also had a small amount of succulents and a couple cacti, which I can never resist.

This little Christmas tree, so perfect for my small living space and for my personal needs, went up a month ago. She is still as fresh as the day I bought her! I may “undress” her a bit today, but she will grace my space for awhile longer.

The absolute best. The plants are beautifully laid out and so well cared for, we bought 25+ perennial flowers and bushes for our new garden. Our plants were in great condition when purchased in early June and have continued to thrive.
They have a wonderfully curated selection of native and plants , which we were focusing on for their hardiness but also for the ecological well-being and food sources they create for birds, bees, and butterflies.
It’s easy to get advice and suggestions from their staff, and they even have a sweet cat on true premises. Highly recommended.

Just found this nursery. It's wonderful! I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and most helpful. They answered all my questions with great enthusiasm and seemed really interested in my gardening needs.
They had a great selection of herbs. I'd been to 3 other local nurseries with not one herb in stock. Sneed's selection was plentiful and beautiful. Great looking healthy plants.
I was also impressed by the vast selection of flowers, trees, bushes, vegetables...they have it all. Oh, and an incredible gift shop with unique and some fascinating items.
I've found my new nursery! I'm looking forward to attending some of their classes...they were all so nice there!

Excellent experience all around! Very knowledgable and patient staff. Even received a demonstration on how to best prune roses. All of the plants were in great shape, and are bee-friendly. They even had bees and chickens! Such a delightful experience. I found everything I needed and cannot wait to plant. Thank you all.

Came here today after having a less than stellar experience at another nursery a few miles away, and was blown away by the contrast in experiences. When I walked up, I immediately felt welcomed. I described what I was looking for, and immediately was directed toward Liz - an absolute gem! She was incredibly patient with my numerous questions and helped me choose four indoor plants, pots, and soil. Liz went above and beyond and even helped me take everything to my car. When I’m ready to get more plants, Sneed’s Nursery will be one of my go-to spots. No question.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. They had a nice selection and you can tell they really care about their plants. One of the girls who was helping me said they don't use pesticides that are dangerous to bees. She even said they would help me figure out what plants to use in my planter if I bring it by.

Went to get 2 fruit trees and a bush. Somehow the chicken care coup attendant came to assist. This individual was not very knowledgeable she advised that 1 tree was as good as another even though she pointed out a tree that had extensive damage from aphids and spider mites. Genetically the trees in question where equal however a tree with pests feeding on it would not be the best pick. The great big green house is a better pick for plants and fruit with a staff that is knowledgeable and able to assist with simple questions. One that specializes in chickens should try to help with plants and fruit trees great big green house is my pick due to knowledgeable staff and successful plants

I missed your reply, let's start with the fact that I have no children so you are mistaking. I was looking at cherry trees, the tree had pests and here you are guessing looking at the wrong trees instead of messaging me for help, but of course we expect you to lie when you found the sick plant. I'd prefer you threw away a plant with mites and aphids, I would as they never go away and this coming from a man who was licensed in pesticides. It's just a movie ticket paper card you can get on the job. Lol. however I pointed the damage and webbing to your hen keeper. allow me to advise you to stop throwing the horticulture degree around, it only means you are prepared to make $35,000 a year because you learn landscaping. impress everyone and tell them you have a degree in biology instead. 1 of your degree workers told me the best pH for Holly's are "6.5 is the sweet spot, load up the bone meal" wow wait what?
PS I know you get your trees and shrubs from the same vendor as the great big greenhouse and most of the others but yet you charge more? Guys shop around they use the same vendor as everyone which means they have the same flowers,bushes trees but charge you a bit more because they are "small business"

I so wanted to love this cute little nursery. It had beautiful plants and the staff was friendly, but I also got the same treatment right down the road where I bought the same pothos for 1/10th the price and it was just as beautiful and healthy. I love supporting local businesses when I am in town, it is unfortunate that there is that much of a mark up just miles away.

The nursery is great and folks are super helpful, but the landscaping department is a bit of a mess. While trying to hire Sneeds Landscaping, folks called a day before to reschedule the first time, and sent a text message only an hour in advance to reschedule a second time. I can't speak to the quality of their design services since they make it so difficult to obtain them.

I have shopped at Sneed's for years, and have always encountered a friendly and helpful staff. They have a wonderful selection of perennials and annuals, native plants, and great herbs and edibles. My late mother had them do several landscape projects that were all lovely and successful. I am so grateful to have an independent nursery nearby.
